“You owe me, River.” Kaylee followed the younger girl all the way to the cockpit.

“Captain won’t agree to it even if Inara asked while standing in front of him naked.” River settled into the pilot’s seat. Then she cocked her head, considering. “Well, maybe he would.”

Kaylee’s eyes danced. “Right. Way things have been progressin’ on that front, we’ll all be dead and cold before Capn meanie makes a move.” She stared out into the blackness of space before continuing. “We jus want one night alone.”

“Captain will say you already have every night, every day and every surface of his ship.” River didn’t look at Kaylee, simply plotted a new course heading.

“We’re gonna be passing so close to New Vegas. He should let us stop and have a day to relax.” A small smiled tugged at her lips. “Jobs can be found there too an its not too close to the Core.”

“No one will be looking for jobs. They’ll all be off having fun. Probably why he refuses to stop.”

Kaylee glanced down at River. “You owe us, you know.”

River didn’t stop her plotting. “I know.” When she looked up at Kaylee, her eyes were dancing.

“And New Vegas is the perfect –“

“No.” Mal said as he climbed the steps onto the bridge. “We are not stopping at New Vegas. You can beg until you turn blue.”

Kaylee scowled at Mal. “I think ‘Nara has some blue body paint. Am sure she can change your mind.”

“That’s an off topic subject, lil’ Kaylee.” Mal said a little too quickly.

“You two just need to do it already.” Kaylee pushed past Mal on her way out of the cockpit. “If you thought Simon an’ I were tense before we got together, this is just –“

“Suffocating us.” River finished for Kaylee.

“An we know they ain’t doin’ it already.” Kaylee frowned at Mal and continued down the hallway.

River nodded. “Or they’d be in much better moods.”

Mal glared at his pilot and then at Kaylee’s departing back. “Since when did my relationship with Inara become the object of such annoyin’ fascination?”

“Since my stupid brother came to his senses and started sleeping with Kaylee. He’s not so tense anymore.” River turned away and continued plotting a new course; one that would take them very close to New Vegas.

Inara carefully arranged the pins in Kaylee’s hair. “You look gorgeous.”

“Think so?” Kaylee’s smile lit up the entire room and Inara couldn’t help but laugh.

“I’m sure he already thinks you’re beautiful.”

“I know. I jus’ wanted to look different for him this time.”

Inara’s eyes twinkled. “You may not have it on long enough to –“ Inara trailed off as a dreamy look passed across Kaylee’s face.

“That’s the idea.”

Inara laughed. “Let’s go. You’re all ready. At least let him take you to a nice restaurant before taking this off.”

Kaylee giggled. “We been savin’ for months so we could have t’night.”

“I know, mei mei.” Inara kissed her cheek and let Kaylee precede her down the stairs into the cargo bay.

“Now that’s some slink.” Zoe stared at Kaylee’s dress, not quite jealous enough to want one of her own.

Even Jayne wasn’t oblivious to Kaylee’s allure but his eyes moved past the bubbly mechanic to stare lustfully at Inara.

“Huh.” Mal’s eyes flicked from Kaylee to Inara, finally settling on the Companion, thinking that perhaps it would be mutually beneficial if they spent the night on New Vegas. River and Inara still owed him though and he was going to make sure to collect before Serenity left port.

River smiled widely at her brother’s back as he stared at Kaylee. He could be such a boob. But she’d been proud of him these last few months. Hadn’t made Kaylee angry at all. Quite the very loud opposite in fact.

It wasn’t every day that Simon saw the woman he loved in such finery. He stepped forward and offered her his hand as she descended the stairs. For all of his Core bred manners and taste in fine clothes, the only word his gifted mind could conjure was, “Wow.”

“So it’s ok?” Kaylee said, nervously smoothing the fine fabric of the mandarin-cut dress that revealed more skin than should have been appropriate for a single woman.

Simon leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her cheek. “You sure you want to go to dinner first?”

Kaylee smiled happily and wrapped her arm around Simon’s. “Yep.”

Mal watched as they walked down the ramp. “You two. 12 hours. No more!”

They didn’t answer and Mal turned to Inara. “Simon gets snatched and I’m sending you in to get him.”

River smiled. “They’ll be fine.”

Inara grinned at him. “How nice to know you won’t just up and leave him.”

“And have to listen to my mechanic cry out her pretty eyes and my pilot tear things apart with her bare hands – most likely my vocal chords? No.” he offered his arm to Inara. “Let’s go. You owe me.”

Inara smiled sweetly and wrapped a slim hand around his arm. “Yes, dear. I know.”

Zoe, Jayne and River watched as they carefully maneuvered around the throng of people at the end of the ramp.

“He’d better come back well and truly sexed or I may just tie him to his bed and hire a cheap whore to service him.” Jayne followed them down the ramp, eyeing all of the pretties he knew he would be bedding tonight.

“I didn’t need to know that, Jayne.” Zoe called after him as she shut the cargo bay doors.

“Me either.” River groaned as she turned back to the comfort of the cockpit.

Simon and Kaylee walked arm in arm along the brightly lit walkways looking not at all out of place as people hurried past them to their destinations or simply stopped to stare into the elegant restaurants or up at the brightly lit signs and casino entrances.

“You’ve been here before?” Kaylee asked, holding his arm tightly.

“Only twice. One trip I don’t remember too well.”

“Another sake story?” Kaylee looked hopeful. She truly loved the last one. She could definitely picture him naked then. And the actual sight was far better than anything her mind could have possibly conjured.

Simon laughed. “Something like that.”

“I want to hear all about it.” Kaylee giggled, her eyes sparkling mischievously.

Simon glanced down at her thinking that he had never heard such a lovely sound. Kaylee’s laugh was intoxicatingly beautiful. “I’ve told you enough stories about my time in medical school. The way I see it, you owe me.”

“Aw, my stories ain’t nearly as fun.”

“I bet they are.” Simon wrapped one arm around her waist and let his hand linger at the base of her spine. “Ah, here we are.” Simon guided her into a pretty, dimly lit restaurant.

“Been here before too, I bet.”

“Yes.”

“Sir.” The host nodded to them.

“A table for two please. In the back?” Simon pushed a few bills into the man’s hand and he nodded knowingly.

“Yes, Sir. Right this way.”

Kaylee stared at Simon who simply smiled that knee-weakening swai smile at her and indicated she follow the host. He kept his hand at the base of her spine as he guided her toward the back of the room.

“I trust this table will do, Sir?” The host stood beside a table that was visible only if you were looking at it from the very front. The sides were complexly hidden by shimmering silks that hung from floor to ceiling in delicate waves.

Simon looked around the very private, romantic table and nodded. “It will. Thank you.” He guided Kaylee to one of the plush seats and then seated himself next to her, the both of them out of view unless someone was standing right in front of the table.

“Wow. This is pretty.” Kaylee’s lips were parted as she looked around the small, private booth.

“No, you are pretty.” Simon said, his voice sure and confident, a change he sleetingly wished had happened much sooner in his relationship with the beautiful mechanic. “Beautiful. Gorgeous. There are no words in English, Chinese or any other language to tell you how stunning you look.” He was rewarded with a blush as he took her hand and squeezed it gently.

Kaylee’s heart fumbled over itself as he looked at her. She didn’t care how proper it was, or wasn’t, but she leaned over and kissed him, her fingers lingering on his cheek and her eyes sparkling with the promise of much more to come.

They ate in private, the waiter only interrupting to bring a new course or to re-fill their drinks. They indulged in a few glasses of house wine, and some of the sweetest, richest food Kaylee had ever tasted. They conversed lightly, Simon telling Kaylee stories of many parties and dinners he had attended in fancy places like this. Kaylee sat in awe as she listened, but when the waiter arrived with a dessert menu, Kaylee leaned back and held her stomach.

“I don’t think I can eat another bite.”

Simon grinned and took the menu with a grateful nod. He ordered what he thought she’d like and then turned to her. “Chocolate. You’ll love it.”

Kaylee’s eyes danced as she leaned toward him. “Not sure my tummy can take anything else so sweet.”

They were sitting so close that she easily slipped one hand off the table and rested it on his thigh. “Need somethin’ – more.”

Simon’s eyes widened and he could feel his body react to her touch. Well, then, perhaps it was time to go. He leaned in to kiss her, gently, letting his lips linger a bit long on hers.

“Need somethin’ I’m used to – won’t upset my tummy,” she whispered against his cheek when they parted. Her hand slid down and brushed against his hardness, not truly surprised to find him aroused. It was quite easy. “Been like this all night?” Her eyes sparkled.

Simon exhaled a quick puff of breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “Pretty much.”

Simon continued to hold her other hand, absently rubbing her wrist with the pads of his fingers. “I already made a reservation for –“

“Need to take care of that.” She glanced out at the hallway in front of them and seeing no one coming, quickly slid beneath the table.

Simon groaned and tried to reach beneath the table to pull her back to her seat. “Uh. Kaylee. What are you –“

“Having dessert.” She answered, quickly unfastening his pants and pulling the surprisingly hard length of him free of the tight confines.

No, Simon thought. “That isn’t a good –“ And then all thought fled his mind as her hands and mouth went to work.

Simon groaned when he felt her lips surround him, her tongue swirling and delving beneath that highly sensitive ridge. On second thought, maybe that was a good idea. He lowered one hand from the table and touched her head, but then remembered all of the pins and the beautiful hair that he didn’t want to mess – not yet. He gripped the tablecloth with one hand, and his wine glass with the other as her hands and mouth worked every solid inch of him.

Simon swallowed a groan as the waiter arrived with a tray of desserts and tried, with some measure of success, to keep the flush from creeping up his neck. He sipped his wine slowly, but gulped it down when her tongue hit a particular sensitive place. He fleetingly hoped the waiter didn’t notice his eyes nearly roll into the back of his head.

Feeling the need to explain why he was suddenly sitting alone, he gritted, as normally as he could muster, “She’ll – ah – be back.” Simon untangled his fist from the end of the tablecloth and waved his hand toward the back where he knew the restrooms were located.

Kaylee hadn’t hesitated for one moment when she heard the waiter arrive. She simply worked his erection between her lips, and as hard as she tried to get Simon to cry out, she was disappointed. But that didn’t stop her from swirling her tongue teasingly along the length of him, closing her mouth around the most sensitive parts and sucking gently.

The waiter nodded politely and turned away, leaving Simon with a sneaking suspicion he knew exactly where Kaylee had gone.

Simon’s eyes fluttered closed as he felt the pressure building at the base of his cock, driving him quickly toward release as Kaylee’s mouth and hands relentlessly pulled at him. He bit his bottom lip so hard he was certain he’d drawn blood as the orgasm ripped far too quickly through his body.

Kaylee eagerly swallowed the flood of salty heat that filled her mouth, cleaning him carefully before letting his flaccid length slip from between her lips.

Simon trembled for a good long time before he relaxed enough to reach beneath the table and attempt to pull her back to her seat.

When the waiter returned – far too soon, Simon thought – the deserts hadn’t been touched and Simon simply asked for them to be boxed so they could take them to go. The waiter left the check and when Simon reached a still trembling hand down to take some bills from his pocket, Kaylee shoved them into his hand instead.

Simon chuckled, despite himself and took a deep breath. “He’s gone. Come up here.”

When Kaylee pulled herself up from beneath the table, licking her lips, Simon gave her a curiously disbelieving stare. “I think you may have some stories to tell after all because that can’t be the first time you’ve ever done that.”

Kaylee didn’t answer, simply turned his hand over and dropped her very damp panties into it.
