SERENITYNOW

I've posted an offer to make near-free (cost of materials) Jayne hats as seen in "The Messenger." (in the "general" posts section)

I'm also interested in getting some vintage Jayne shirts. The Blue Sun one is already a popular request, but I'm looking for some of the more obscure ones: the fantasy girl with the black bar across her eyes (classy), I could probably do without, but I *do* want some of the others--espeically the #28 shirt. But no one seems to have a good picture of it.

Can anyone help?

HELL'S KITTEN

I've made the "28" (the fighting elves) shirt, the "rowdy play" shirt, the "Blue Sun" shirt, and the soldier shirt... I took pictures, but my USB drives have apparently decided to go on hiatus. As soon as I figure out how to get all my computer bits talking to one another, I'll send them to you, if you'd like. I guess this is a somewhat useless post, but, hey, whaddaya gonna do.

I couldn't seem to find the post about the hats as seen in "The Message". (I know. I'm too picky.) But I am definately interested in getting one.

I'd also be interested in a few Jayne shirts. Sorry I can't help you out, but let me know when you figure how you're gonna do it.

I'd love a "fighting elves" shirt myself.

For those of you looking for the hat, my wife is the one who is making those for some people. She's listed here as 'serenity now', so you can look her earlier post up that way.

Shirt's hell, if I can get some decent images I could make decals. I have made some pretty detailed embroidered patches in the past, but you need to make about 100 to keep the cost per patch down to something reasonable.

This is all well and good, but who's going to make the mock-ups of Vera?

Edit: (And only moments after posting this I discovered Birdie's thread on Prop Replicas.)

HELL'S KITTEN

Okay, so after a long time of arguing with my computer, I finally broke down and got a new card reader.

Here's a link to my tiny website with all of my "Firefly" t-shirts pictured:

http://home.comcast.net/~sjg013/FFshirts.html

Please keep in mind that these are just semi-crappy transfers; I haven't been convinced to get into silk-screening yet. I wear my "Blue Sun" and "Fighting Elves" shirts all the time, so they're starting to show the wear.... I got angry with my "Soldier" shirt and threw it away. It looked all wrong. As soon as I find a shirt that's the right color, I'll make up another one.

No, they're not all exact, but you can only do so much without the original designs. Besides that, I really don't care. They're good enough for me until I can make 'em better.

(I'm new here, really don't know what I'm doing, and often forget to check the boards, so don't be too put off if I don't reply.)

MOHRSTOUTBEARD

I love the shirts, Hell's Kitten. I've been working on recreating some Jayne designs myself.

My approach to it has been using screen captures from the DVD as reference, and then drawing it as close as possible. Is this pretty much your modus operandi, too? If so, what's your weapon of choice: Photoshop? Illustrator?

Baby goslings, perhaps?

Thanks! (Although, I immediately hate everything I do once I make it public....)

Yeah, I do pretty much the same. While I absolutely adore Photoshop, that's not what I used. I'm actually ashamed to tell you this...but...I use MS Word. It's a lot easier to get the characters correct. And, uh, (what other excuse can I use?) ... I don't have Photoshop at work ... and ... eh, I got nuthin'.

No, don't be silly, they'd make far too much noise. (And their bitty little feet have too much trouble with my 3-button mouse.)
