This stuff looks good. Does anybody know if there's a place where you can get shirts/gear similar to what the characters wear? I'd be interested in getting a Blue Sun corporation logo shirt similar to Jayne's (though I'd best stay away from emotionally unstable young girls with knives if I wear it).

Come to think of it, I'd best stay away from emotionally unstable people with knives regardless of what I'm wearing...

Anyway, if there's anywhere you know that stuff like this can be found. I was assuming it might not be done by a fan on Cafepress since those logos are likely copyrighted images. Any help would be nice; I like to be a "covert" geek and wear stuff that only other like-minded geeks will get...

Oh, beautiful... thank you Teela... with a little bit of tan dye and some luck, I might be able to get one looking pretty close to Jayne's (man, I'm a dork...)

Might get me a mug, too...

I seem to remember Browncoat1 bought a coat like Mal's. Am too lazy to look for the particular thread but there was also a link to a retailer.

I assume that Mal's coat was created by the wardrobe department for the show, but it may have been simply a slightly modified western-style duster; possibly a purchased piece with some minor modifications, or if it were constructed for the show it was built from a modified duster pattern.

My question is this: Anybody out there with the clothing design know-how to tell what would have to be changed about a store bought duster to make it as close as possible to Mal's?

I'm wondering how hard it would be to get in contact with Shawna Trpcic (sp?) who did the costuming for Firefly. I think there was at least one more person, but Shawna is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. She was interviewed back when the show was on the air, and the interview was posted on the fox site but that link is no longer active and I haven't read it so I don't know the details.

editted to add: Cool. The site is back up and the interview is available again!

How cool would it be if you could get the basic specs on each character's 'uniform'? Want to dress like Shepard Book, just go to these couple of stores and buy these items. That would rock!!

I found a bitchin' oilskin duster this weekend, but it was going fo 230 canadian, which is a bit out of my range.

but yeah, I'd like a coat like Mal's purely for the Bad-assness of the whole thing, firefly aside.

It looks more like it's patterned after a Sack Coat or a Western Frock Coat than a duster. It has the English double vent and appears to be suede with leather trim at the collar and cuffs.

I KNOW I KNOW! :big grin:

You have to cut a slit on the left sleeve (where mal gets grazed by a bullet in Serenity) and make a few blood stains here and there.

then it'll look like Mal's!

Hey Geordie, thanks for the plug. I'm glad you like the stuff. I'm adding new designs to the store ( http://store.fadedpress.com) all the time so check back often. :)

Arden, for Blue Sun t-shirts you should email alex0157b@yahoo.com Alex has Blue Sun shirts that he's been silkscreening on tan and black t-shirts; it's a much better solution than getting a white shirt from that cafepress store and dying it. He sent me a photo of one of the tan ones and it looks great... I'm going to order one myself.

HELENCLEMENTS

Hi

Would love a ff t-shirt - but wondered if you were planning on doing any which are long sleeved with a v-neck - much more flattering than the round!!

If possible in a large/x-large size?

The reglan or whatever t-shirt is nice - but I think it will come up to small - it says these are for juniors.......

Any help much appreciated!!

Would you be willing to post my design or modify as you see fit. I'm a shameless self plugging non-artist. Any thoughts on any Angel oriented items?

I want some stuff that honors this last Angel season. I made my design becuase it looks so "corporate" not sci-fi or fantasy. It's the humor of those who actually get it, as opposed to the obvioulsy demon faced "licensed merch" Just putting my thoughts out there for a barrage of ridicule.

http://www.fireflyfans.net/sunroomitem.asp?i=1113

by the way I just bought my wife the red serenity pink t-shirt for her birthday.

Helen, I use a third-party vendor for fulfillment and such... I just design the goods, but the range of merchandise available (as well as the printing, shipping, customer service and so on) is all handled by CafePress. So until they offer v-necks, I can't.

But, they did just add a sweet range of new stuff, including a v-neck, but it's an athletic jersey kind of thing. They also added women's tanktops, ringers, an a really nice organic T that's incredibly comfortable. :) (Large and XL are available in pretty much every product, but as you mentioned, several of them do run small.) If you sign up for my newsletter (which you can do at the store at http://store.fadedpress.com) then you'll be notified when there are new products available.

hey shiny,

You can actually start your own store and create your own merchandise if you want. :) I actually don't carry any "Angel" stuff at the moment -- just haven't been inspired, I guess -- but if you search on cafepress.com you might actually find some "Angel" stuff you'd like. :)

Well, this post is a bit old, but I'll hope I can make my first post here a helpful one. I was informed about this site, which has all kinds of t-shirt designs. The thing is, (a) it's unofficial, so the designs aren't EXACTLY like the show, and (b) it has only the designs, and you have to print them out on iron-on paper yourself.

Anyway, I think they look very good, regardless of the fact that they were all fan-made. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the Blue Sun logo is not the new one on the official site, but it's the older one.

Here it is:
http://home.comcast.net/~hellskitten/Firefly/ffjts.html

I hope you enjoy it, and I also hope it hasn't been posted before!
