Just wanted to post a thank-you to Alex157 and the Browncoat Marketplace for bluesunshirts.com. I finally got one in black (huzzah) and the ordering was painless, and it came in no time. It's a great set-up...Paypal or credit, in the U.S., Canada, or overseas.

If Hell's Kitten needs to decide on how to market her shirts, I vote for this type of site.

I didn't see any way to use a credit card. Looked like choices were PayPal or snailmailed check or money order. And since I refuse to do business with the people at PayPal, that pretty much leaves me out.

I won't even mention that some of us need tall sizes, and/or larger sizes. (...sigh...)

Oh, well. Nice looking shirts, like the looks of the colored shirts over white, that's for sure. Guess I need to get transfer paper for the inkjet(s) and "do it myself"...

I happened to come into some paypal money today (friend wanted to exchange real cash for paypal money for an emergency), so I just placed my order. Now I'll have something to wear for the Serenity premiere.

Plus, it's a shirt that identifies me to browncoats, but other people will have no idea what it is. :)

I went with the khakhi, to better approximate Jayne's shirt's coloring.

You can add my name to the list of satisfied bluesunshirt.com customers! I got one in khaki and I love it. Non-browncoats always give it a look like "I wonder what that is?" So far, though, none have asked.

I keep wearing it to the bar (BW3 Harper's Point, in Cincinnati OH) hoping some fellow BC will see it and join me for a drink -- just not in celebration of Unification Day.

but seriously, love my shirt, wear it proudly, plan on getting more for gifts in the near future. Also, did y'all hear he might be expanding into doing more than just T-shirts?

Am I the only one who is waiting for a Blue Sun touque?!?

Sorry, meant to type "tuque". Curse this lack of spell-check! A tuque is:

Pronunciation: 'tük, 'tyük
Function: noun
Etymology: Canadian French, from French toque-
: a warm knitted stocking cap
----------

So, I guess I should have just said 'stocking cap'. sorry eh.

I'll be in my bunk...

So these shirts are screen-printed? Or at least not an iron-on transfer?

That's what they call that orange hat Jayne wore? Huh. Never knew that. Serves me right for not being Canadian.

Thanks for filling that little gap in my education!

I don't know if that's strictly Canadian. Here in the South they're called tobogans.

Touques (think Gandalf saying "Fool of a Took!" and you get the pronunciation) are generally worn in the winter, since they're warm, woollen or knit hats. Sometimes with ear flaps, like Jayne's. I have some cool touques from my travels in Edmonton one chilly March. It snowed, but it was still warmer than the damp, wet winter snow we get in New Jersey. I have a warm spot for Canada.

And yes, the Blue Sun shirts are screen-printed, on really good T-shirts that won't shrink. The XL I bought is a very roomy XL. I'd recommend it...and they were very reasonably priced.

So has anybody washed their shirts? How did they look after the wash?

Not a silly question--I know peeps who pretty much never wash their shirts. Also, it'd be nice if the Blue Sun shirt still looked good after washing.

I was looking at the lineup of grey, khaki and white at the Web site. It looks like the Blue Sun logo prints really well on the white, less so on the khaki and even less so on the grey. It would be nice if the logo ink is more saturated in the grey and khaki shirts, IOW, has denser print so that the upper part of the letters don't fade away. Or is it merely the screen image that is misleading?

Anyone buy one of the coloured shirts and can clue me in? I'd like to buy both of the coloured ones.

I have one of the black shirts and there is no fade-away on the shirt logo. It is the photo that is misleading. The BLUE SUN logo is strictly the same shade of blue across its entire surface. Most likely lighting conditions when the photos were taken resulted in the shine in the upper part of the lettering which you interpret as fade-away.

I have mine on black, and it washed perfectly. I didn't dry it, and I washed it inside out, but there was no fading and the quality of the screen-printing (or whatever process that is used) is above average. And, even with shipping, the shirt only cost $14.95. A bargain!

Captain, I saw these shirts at Dragon Con. they are a beaut. I had to have one. I too was confused looking for a way to use credit card at the site. Click PayPal option for the item of your choice (They have Hats now too!) and it will then give you the option to use a credit card without having to sign up for paypal. I just placed my order. I'll try to remember to post again when my order arrives. As for large sizes they had XXL.

Well, a few days later and I'm the happy owner/wearer of one black and one khaki t-shirt. They were well done and they washed just fine. Thanks Alex!

Got my Khaki shirt today. Very quick delivery considering it travelled from the US to the UK. Even Mal would have been hard pushed to deliver so quickly.

All I can say is WOW. Nice quality shirt, very well printed logo, and the size is right for me.

The best thing is that as a T-Shirt it's really good looking even if you don't know anything about Firefly, but for Firefly fans it's like a membership badge that only they will recognise.

Pity it's getting into winter over here so I won't get a chance to wear it outside much in the hope of being recognised as a browncoat.

I'd love a black touque that had the white outline of the Serenity ship on it, or a design that was similar to the Serenity patch. That would be cool.

I got the 'fighting elves' shirt,
and I love it!
But it is iron-on (not silk screen)
however it is far better than the 'do it yourself'
since those cannot have the color 'white'
which is necessary as the background to the 28
