Title pretty much says it. I'm sure people have posted it before, but if someone could re-post links/locations to buy one of the Browncoat coats, maybe even post name(model), price(US or otherwise), walk-in stores where it's available, etc.

Figured it would be good to bump this subject for all the new people to this site who are wondering like I am.

Abbyshot makes a pretty good replica but it's not quite the right colour. If you want the closest thing you can get to mal's Brown coat you'll have to get one from Jonathan Logan. You can contact him from his website at www.jonathanalogan.com. He's the guy who made the originals for the show (TV series, not the film - it was a different coat). He'll make you one out of deer skin (This is what Mal's was made of) to custom fit you but it'll cost $1200. There are some pictures of one of his replicas in Jan 06 issue of the STARLOG Magazine but none on his site.
Personally this was too pricey for me. I got the one from abbyshot $480 and am happy with it. $800 just to have it slightly redder didn't seem worth it. Also there is a cheaper one at www.spacecitycostumes.com, this doesn't have the right fasteners on it nor is it made out of the right material but for the price it's not bad. I love Firefly! I think it is one of the best character and story driven show that has come out in a long time. (BattleStar Gallactica is a close 2nd), but there is no gorram way I am spending close to $500 for a coat. Hell, I have a really nice black leather trench coat and it only cost me $300!

DEFINEDISAPPEAR

If anyone who's interested in getting a browncoat but doesn't have room in their budget to shell out $200-$400 dollars on a replica, there's a nice coat over at http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=244509 that is in the same style but is substantially cheaper. It isn't perfect, but, well, it's something. Hope that's helpful to y'all.

(Oh, by the way, I'm new here and this is my first post. Just thought I'd say hi to all my fellow browncoats out there. Thanks for being committed long enough for people like me to have a chance to join the family. See y'all in the world.)

EDIT: I guess I really should read through some more threads before I post. Apparently this link has already been put up over on the "A less expensive browncoat" thread. Oh well.
