LOSTINTHEVERSE

Hi everyone,
Does anyone here know anything about the format needed to embroider a graphic at one of those little kiosks in malls? Or better yet, have an image of the blue sun logo digitized for embroidery that they could send me? I asked at the booth and the people working there had no idea, but I have an Idea for a really shiny new hat that want to try to have made. If anyone could help me with this, it'd be real shiny.

Thanks Browncoats

You might just have to print the bluesun logo and show them. I printed, copied and did it myself. (it's not hard as they make it look really) When you get your hat done are you going to post a picture?

Well, I'm a pretty heavy duty sewer and I don't actually own an embroidery machine (I do mine by hand), but...for the home-use machines, you need special software packages that usually run around $500 or so. Sometimes it will come with the machine if the dealer is running a special. Each brand has its very own software, so there's no universal package that I'm aware of.

However, I do know of people who make digital patterns for sale, and somehow they manage to save it to a variety of formats - pcs, pes, hus, cse, jef etc. What are these formats? No flipping clue.

Don't know if this helps at all! Oh - and if you're thinking of buying an embroidery machine, the majority of them start at $1,000 US.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know there were different formats. Now I know one more question to ask, which is always helpful. And on buying a machine... I had to stretch for my 35 dollar shiny dvd set Thanks again

So I went back to the place and started asking the right questions (ie: what format of digitized image do you need) and they said it doesn't matter, they won't let me digitize it because then they don't get the 80 dollars to make the design. oh well.

Anyone else have any ideas? (I'd do it myself, but I don't know how to sew)

Nice .

It is such a bummer when you have a great idea, and just can't get anyone else to cooperate with you! I hope you find some way to get this done!! I'd help you out, but I don't have an embroidery machine. Maybe someday, but at the prices those things go for, we'll all be very old and gray when that happens!

Good luck!

i think brother may well make a small embroiderer that you can put floppy disks into (not sure about that there could be some softwear involved and a memory card type thing) i shawsome of the brother sewing machines will take floppy disks.

WHEDONESQUE

I knew a woman once who did custom embroidery for a living. She worked out of her home using a professional system. I have no idea how she did the images, but I know she took people's logos and stuff and put them on just about anything. That was about 10 years ago, though... Hmm... lemme see if I can find someone who knows where she went...

I have the embroidery file- I had it made for the hats that I have available at www.bluesunshirts.com (just in case that is what you were looking for)- usually the embroiderer charges (too much IMHO) to digitize it. I got a relatively good deal because I work with them jobber wise to provide screen printing services to them- but I still had to fork over some dough for their time - I don't think they will let it loose, but if you have a particular artical that you want done and can send it to me, I will get it done for you- reasonable- just let me know.........
