Suspicions grow... UK suspends flights out of Sharm el-Sheikh after "more information has come to light" about last week's crash which killed 224 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34724604

Blowback for Russia's bombing of Syria? Are Russia and Egypt purposefully covering something up?

It's just too soon to tell.

Too soon to tell.

What Russia says about this depends on what the Security Council wants to do. IF they decide they want to go balls-to-the wall in the Mideast, this could be a cause celebre. If, on the other hand, they want to take a more measured approach, the story will be dribbled out in bits and pieces. In either case, more info is needed.

Exactly what the rest of think. With Russia the truth has little to do with it. What Russia says about something depends on how they wish to spin it. How they wish others to view it. Just like you SIG

Oh yeah, Russia made a big mistake again getting into something that will show they do not have the recourses to do a sustained campaign. A campaign like the United States has done for more than a decade now.

As for skill levels, it is easy to fly North, South, East or West and drop bombs. I have yet to be impressed by what they are doing except to say it is apparent they do not have the logistics experience to resupply themselves in the middle east. Which is why one in three planes is grounded at any given time.

The fact that Russia has suspended flights to Egypt tells me that THEY think, at least, that a bomb is the likely cause of the plane crash.

I heard a report (I think it was from the BBC) that Egyptian airport security accept bribes on a daily basis to allow unexamined people/ cargo into their planes. Up until now, smuggling had no consequences. But tourism and the trust of its allies has now gone down the drain.

In the meantime, westerners everywhere demonstrate their concern for "people everywhere" by joyously celebrating the death of 224 people.

GSTRING: Balls-to-the-wall -
Quote:

First attested in the 1960s in the context of aviation. Probably coined by pilots whose throttle levers had round, ball-like tops and for whom putting the "balls to the wall" (the firewall of the aircraft) meant making the aircraft fly as quickly as possible.

Uh huh. An allegation with no links.

What I've been told is that the Russians are flying about as many sorties as are theoretically possible with the planes they currently have in Syria. When a plane lands, it has to be inspected, refueled, and re-armed. Pilots have to rotate. There is always downtime ... planes can't fly 24/7.

Cites are wasted on you SIG. What I posted is pretty accurate. It comes from a United States General who was being very kind in his assessment.

Prominent Russian millionaire Mikhail Lesin, a former aide of Russian President Vladimir Putin and founder of Russian TV network Russia Today, was found dead at a Washington hotel on Friday (6 November). While police authorities in Washington have not yet revealed the cause of death, Russian media quoting his family, said he may have suffered a heart attack.

Lesin's body was found in a room at the Dupont Circle hotel in Washington DC and officials in the US notified the Russian Embassy of Lesin's death. Authorities from both countries are trying to determine the circumstances of his death, reported Washington Post. As of now it is not clear what Lesin was doing at Washington.

How in gods name does a story about a Russian billionaire's death, who had a heart attack, turn into a propaganda post about the hotel's owner and even Roosevelt, in a thread about the downed Russian airliner?

WOW

I understand some drift but WOW.
