This is about the GOP candidate, if there is a brokered convention.

This is not only about who you would support, but discussing your thoughts about how the ballots will work out.
So those who support the DNC are still welcome to share your thoughts here. Or reasonable thoughts, anyhow.

Let us start with the rules as laid out, or outlined, by RNConvention Chairman Paul Ryan: Only those who have run should be candidates - so not him.

Gov Walker had leads early on, but ended his campaign quite early - yet he is still popular and I could see the convention gravitate towards him.

I still like Carson, and would hope that he would be the candidate, or even the Veep on a ticket not including Trump.

I have heard consensus that Trump will lose the first ballot, and then maybe Cruz would win on the second ballot. But if not, would Cruz still have a chance on the third ballot, or would JEB, Walker, or others be viable on the third ballot?

How many ballots do you think will be needed? I've heard of strategies for the 9th ballot.

Any thoughts?

All the candidates suck. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel, jeesh! I wouldn't trust any of them to fold my laundry, let alone run the country. The Convention, however, should definitely be good for lots of laughs.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

I can't imagine any of the actual candidates being chosen. They might pick someone completely off the radar despite the rules.

Paul Ryan attended that semi-secret meeting with top-level Republicans, Tim Cook, Karl Rove, Elon Musk and another techie big-wig (I forget who) over exactly that issue. With so many high-tech people involved maybe they'd be looking for someone with some scientific background?

Anyway, they might still pull in someone who didn't run. You can't control the delegates, and the heart wants what the heart wants....

You can't think of any of the 22 candidates being selected?

Do you think that works out on the second ballot? Or third? Or first?
