Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

A decent summary, get up to speed in 3 minutes:

I think it's time you disabused yourself of that pleasant little fairy tale about our fearless leaders being some sort of surrogate daddy or mommy, laying awake at night thinking about how to protect the kids. HA! In reality, they're thinking about who to sell them to so that they can get a few more shekels in their pockets.

I realize that this is framed for comic effect but ... some of tis is complete hogwash!

What is going on in Syria? Well, it's all pretty straightforward....
Turkey is attacking ISIS, despite having been widely accused of secretly helping ISIS for years"

Those huge convoys of tanker-trucks full of ISIL oil heading into Turkey were just figments of imagination, I guess? Those tanks and howitzers and TOW missiles trundling across the border, from Turkey to ISIL, never happened? The arms shipped from Libya to Syria - via Turkey- were never destined for jihadists?

Turkey was clearly helping extremists of various sorts from the very beginning. Now, Turkey had geopolitical designs of its own ("Assad must go") but as a member of NATO, all of this cross-border activity was under the watchful eye of the CIA (which arranged the shipment of arms from Libya to Syria via Turkey) and the State Department (which is joined at the hip to the CIA) and the DIA, and probably funded in part by Saudi Arabia.

... But the real targets are other Sunni rebels" There's that fantasy about "rebels", again. You would be hard-pressed to find a moderate rebel amidst the al-Qaida-linked "rebel" forces, foreign fighters, and Saudi-paid mercs in Syria.

...some of whom are backed by America and Britain"
Yes, its true. America is backing al Qaida, however named.

"What started as a popular revolution against a dictator"... never actually happened. More about that later, when I can find the links.

What I got out of this is that the USA is backing Turkey (or was until recently, when USA-backed military groups attempted a coup in Turkey), the Kurds, al Qaida, and ISIL ... who were glued together only by USA arms, and Saudi money. The USA doesn't mind backing several sworn enemies as long as it's main objective (to destroy a sitting government like Libya's or Syria's) is achieved, even if that means leaving complete chaos in its wake. In fact, given that chaos is so routinely achieved by American operations, it looks like chaos is the USA goal.

Also, as update: Turkey appears to have switched sides. All of its pro-ISIL activity was not only for its own ambitions but also with the tacit support of the USA. NOW, having been thrown under the bus by the USA, it seems to have swung to whatever side Russia is on.
