Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Quote:

You can’t even remember who Kasich is, right? But he would have destroyed Hillary easily.
I watched one of the republican primary debates and thought that Kasich seemed the only reasonable person on the stage. Too bad his party electorate didn't think so. But yes, I remember him well. OTOH his air of reasonableness would have collapsed during a campaign. Many of his positions are genuinely extreme. Democrats who might have been attracted to his middle of the road, undramatic demeanor would have eventually been revolted by his extreme intentions.
Quote:

Try not to forget that when praising Trump for his campaign brilliance.
Has anyone here praised him for his brilliance? When you make comments that don't seem to relate to anything expressed by anyone here at any time, it truly makes me wonder if you have a point to make and are making it badly, or if you're just as divorced from reality as you seem.
Quote:

... the marginal Trump supporter is the reason he won. And that supporter was very likely influenced by the overwhelming media focus on the email matter.
Whether or not hillary did anything for which she could be charged - we'll truly never know. After all, she not only deleted but actively scrubbed 30,000 allegedly personal emails from her server. And whether or not it was part of a criminal complaint, she didn't preserve the emails she was obliged to preserve.

but yanno - that doesn't matter either. The public got to see her up close on matters of professionalism, knowledge, personal integrity and honesty - IN HER EXECUTION OF A POWERFUL SENSITIVE GOVERNMENT POSITION. If she'd lied about ... the natural color of her hair ... her grades in law school ... her weight .. they could have shrugged, grinned a little inside, thought 'my gosh that makes her human'. But that she did something deceptive from the start by installing a private server, then was caught in a series of shifting lies and evasions about it ... well ... it may have been legal as far as anyone could tell - bit it stank.

Whoa.

I do feel like Sig has been ganged up on, and I felt her dislike of Hillary was understandable.

But in the course of these back and forths I have seen a lot of invectives that have also hit me by proxy,as well as groups I'm not part of that I found unacceptable.

You want SJW? I'm a full on white guilt nihilistic anarchist pro-poly agendered ace-aro and useless piece of millenial dreck and I had my head up my ass about a lot of gender issues. I had severe mental health problems in the past, and I took that out on you guys, and I'm sorry for that.

But it looks like it's time to make myself scarce again.

I'll take your word for it Second. For real.

I'm honestly "New" to politics in the last 3-4 months.

After Obama was voted in I stopped paying attention. By 2012 i knew it didn't matter if it was Obama or Romney. Same outcome for you and I no matter who won it.

To be honest, it's kind of a strange "Adventure" that got me SUPER hyped on politics again.

My Firestick broke. I had no cable TV. The only thing I had was a hand-me-down playstation given by my much younger step brother the year before. I downloaded YouTube.

The whole "Ghostbusters Remake" thing was happening.

I was never a YouTube guy before but I was a HUGE fan of the Angry Video Game Nerd for a few years before that because of a project I worked on. I had no idea how big "James" was on there. I didn't even know how many YouTubers made a living do it, let alone that he actually was able to make a living doing that. I thought YouTube was just for fun.

Not to "relive" it all, but Ghostbusters Failed BIG TIME even though EVERYONE hated on James and said that anybody who didn't go and see the new Ghostbusters movie was a Misogynist.

Really? F**k you Paul Feig and co...

I'd probably like the movie. F**k you for making me dig my heels in and NEVER watch it.

Dumbass.

YOU lost Sony over $300 million dollars and RUINED any chance of a Ghostbusters revival. Kids today would have loved Ghostbusters.

Thats on YOU.

Yada, Yada, Yada, i got pulled into the politics of YouTube and eventually into politics in general, and it was like a drug to my OCD mind I hadn't been exposed to for a decade.

It wasn't just Brexit that Hillary could have, and should have learned from.

"Basket of F**king Deplorables"? Really?

Did you not learn ANYTHING from the lessons that the EPIC Ghostbusters Reboot failure JUST SHOWED TO YOU? TO EVERYONE?

OMG.... seriously you guys. I would make SUCH a better Mook than Mook was......

I could have, at any time, whipped out my "Network Specialist" business card and said "Um, boss, this server is not a good idea".

Let
Me
Count
The
Ways....................

I only vaguely paid attention to the very end of the Republican primary, and only because I was out of town without my toys helping a friend move out of state and had to watch a hotel TV overnight.

I F**king hated Trump, but I loved him too for the entertainment. He was a HUGE bully, wasn't he? Everyone else talking in interviews after was talking about issues and here's Trump making fun of how somebody looked like a pig when they eat their breakfast.

But there is a thing about Bullies.

Not all of them are bad. I was pretty much a nerd until I got into Wrestling my Freshman year. I was only 97lbs, but I kicked ass for the team. All of the sudden, the Bullies were my friends. Nobody F**ked with me for the next 4 years.

When you stand up to a Bully one of two things happen.

They either scurry away like the coward they always were, or they welcome you into the club and all of the sudden you're the "little guy" with a shit ton more muscle behind you than you ever could have had on your own.

But back to your point.... would Kasich have won for real?

The Wikileaks documents suggest that the only reason Trump won the Primary was because that's what they wanted. They felt that of all of the Republicans that he'd be the easiest one to knock over. He was a joke.

I don't think he would have won. Everyone was in favor of Hillary. Whoever Kasich was, I can guarantee he didn't have 1/4 the balls that Trump had. He didn't say what he wanted to say, damn the consequences.

The Clinton Machine would have dug up whatever dirt they could find on him and shamed him to death and he would have played the part of the "good, well behaved Republican boy" and rolled over.

That Access Hollywood tape. Be honest. You know it's true. Almost 100% of any other man on the planet would have been destroyed by that tape.

Whatever "AH" tape they were to dig up on Kasich, it would have killed him and HIllary would have won by 20 points.

At least that's my humble opinion.

Seriously..... check out those Wikileaks. No shame in admitting they're real now. The Hillary campaign never denied their authenticity.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Byte

I got relentlessly demonized by hillarities, as did signym. There was a whole gang of them that would do nothing but troll us, either as a group, or taking turns. I don't see a difference between your examples and my experience, in terms of which should get credited as an issue. And if I were to characterize all hillarities by the overwhelming behavior of the ones online HERE, vs Trump supporters - hands down I would pick Trump every time.

Your example is extremely one-sided, and based on my personal experience of being ceaselessly attacked, not convincing that somehow, hillarities are in any way better than Trump supporters. By my experience they are far, FAR worse.

"You can't want to unite the country and push away entire groups of people for "safety" at the same time."

The BIGGEST problem Europe had was that of forged documents. That's how France estimates it ended up with thousands of battle-hardened jihadis on the country. I think it's perfectly reasonable to hold up immigration until a procedure can be developed to validate documents. And VALID documents are required for ALL people entering the country.

BYTE, I never thought of you as anything other than an interesting person. As far as I can tell, you didn't "go after" anyone with hammer and tongs like (In order of decreasing assholeness) THUGR, GSTRING, MAL4, KRAPO, and SECOND. The people that I despise range the gamut of ages and incomes, it's not their categories that disgust me, it's their behavior.

YOU don't need to apologize to anyone, as far as I remember, and certainly not me. I've always enjoyed your unique voice and perspective. FREM's too. The both of you always brought interesting insights to the board.

I mean... I spent most of my time on reddit the past few years. The atmosphere of most of the Trump supporters over there was "toxic gamer gator meme-lord" complete with dog whistles about how Hillary wasn't "experienced enough" (read: she's a woman). The talk over there is how feminism and empathy towards gay and transgender rights is the greatest evil society has ever known and will be the downfall of western civilization, and how cops are totally justified in shooting anyone who's darker than a light tan.

Plus things that I saw as non-issues, like Benghazi, or the emails, or this made up spirit cooker thing. The Epstein connection is a thing, but it's a thing for Trump too.

I voted for Hillary not because I liked her, not because I liked her policies, but because people actually were being victimized by Trump and some of his supporters. There's this us versus them attitude that exists between the straight middle white class and everyone else, where any gains by minorities are seen as an attack on the majority. That and I figure except maybe for Russia, Trump's foreign policy is going to be exactly the same as Hillary's, so I was focusing on domestic policy, social problems, and welfare.

Trump has a long way to go before he can win over the minorities from their fears - they don't have a lot to lose, but they can lose everything they've worked for.

That said, I am hopeful that the right wing will be more willing to reach across the aisle to the left wing now that they've won in a big way.

You sound as if you took the insane Feminist SJW cookie, Byte, but you haven't yet drank the Kool-Aid yet.

Ask yourself, what did Obama do for any American Citizen minorities, specifically all of the Blacks that voted for him twice?

If you answered "Nothing" then DING DING DING!!!!!

Trump has never victimized anyone, at least not any Legal American Citizen. He never said "Mexicans are Rapists". Everything you think you know about Trump is a soundbyte taken out of context and you need to do more research.

Oh... the Access Hollywood tape, you say? The one where he admitted his "Sexual Assault"?

Lockeroom talk or not, that's not the point Byte. His exact words were "When you're famous, they'll let you do anything". "They'll LET you" being the main operative of that conversation that always seems to be conveniently left out. This would mean that even in that 11 year old discussion between two Men-Children bragging to each other about dumb stuff, there was no suggestion of sexual assault. These were "theoretical" women who gave consent because of his status in a BS fantasy between two famous "bros" bonding over BS on a short bus ride.

If you watch the full video, the Gorgeous Actress he was talking about earlier in the tape (who was never the P**** he said he grabbed) met them outside the bus. All of the sudden these two disgusting "Sexual Assaulters" were like little boys in front of her. No groping. No copping a feel. No grabbing by the P****. They were, if anything, twice as nice to her as they would be to most other women. She looked absolutely stunning, and quite frankly, even given their own personal "status" in the world they were lucky to be around a Woman like that, and they knew it.

Would Trump have been more aggressive with her if he were in his 20's or 30s and not married when he got off that bus? You bet your ass he would have. I just don't think that there would be any advances made that she didn't give signals that she wanted.

A man doesn't turn 1million dollars his daddy gave him into Billions of dollars over the course of his life and not know how to behave around women. Have you seen all 3 of his wives?

I know you well enough Byte that I know there are Plenty of Women you have met in your life that you're not much of a fan of.

This idea that Women should automatically be put on a pedestal and given respect as if they are all angels or some other superior being to men is insane. I won't disrespect anyone, male or female, unless they give me reason to first. The complete opposite is true as well though. And the minute somebody demands that I give them respect is the moment that I say loud and proud "NO I WON'T". ESPECIALLY if it is based on their gender or race or sexual preference when compared to my Straight White Male "Privlidge".

Let's spend the next two months breaking this down, if we must.

Let's get it all out.

All of the reasons people find Trump disagreeable.

All of the things they think they heard him say.

Did you actually hear that?

Or did you hear a 5 second soundbyte taken out of context and repeated ad-nauseum the last 8 months?

And for anyone who says "Trump has no experience".

Experience at what? F**king everything up? For a Living? Professionally? (and getting paid with taxpayer dollars for a crap job)

Who is the last President you actually approved of?

If I go any further back than GHWB, I'm less than 10 years old, so I can't really speak back that far.

GHWB got us into the first war of my lifetime. Bill Clinton gave us NAFTA. GWB thrust us into my first few illegal wars that were never approved by Congress and gave us the Patriot Act. Obama gave us Obamacare and 300% premiums and doubled the National Deficit in 8 years and now we're in 5 illegal wars that Congress never approved and on the brink of war with Russia while we're all worried about a silly election.

Experience?

Would you really feel any more comfortable with Hillary continuing us down this path?

It's like the Bush/Clinton Dynasty come full circle. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Black Temp-Clinton.

Who knows. If Hillary won, we'd probably have Michelle Obama as the next President to keep it going for another 4 or 8 years too.

Imagine that. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama-Clinton-Obama.

Are you happy with where WE are at right now Byte?

Would you accept anywhere from 4 to 16 more years of this?

Could you imagine what this all might look like to us in 2032?

Sorry. I need to be going to bed soon. I don't mean to be a dick about things.

Color me "Triggered".

You mentioned the whole "White Male" thing in your post, and I have become overly sensitive to that kind of talk.

You never said anything like that before. I think you need to stop hanging out on Reddit. ;)

Oh yes I absolutely can Byte.

If they aren't already here, there is no reason they need to be here until we can create a legitimate system to identify them and their possible criminal background based on their ID.

At 37 years old, I can't even buy a 6 pack of beer without having my driver's license scanned every time I go. Doesn't matter that I know the person by name. Doesn't matter that I've been old enough to buy beer now for 16 years. I can't buy a 6 pack without giving my ID.

(It's not a state law, yet, but the place I go to has been busted too many times and bought that new machine and absolutely will not sell a single item now without scanning your ID first).

If they get butt-hurt because somebody looks like them, cry me a river. Life sucks. Buy a f**king helmet.

Since 1995, we have legally assimilated over 6.5 million Mexicans who worked hard to do it the Legal way, and are now full fledged American Citizens. We have allowed more Citizenships to Mexico over the last 21 years than ALL EUROPEAN NATIONS COMBINED.

We are not talking about closing off our borders. We are not talking about rounding up people at gunpoint and "sending them back home".

If we use our current eVerify laws and enforce them, nobody will be able to work here in America unless they have a SS# or a Work Visa. With no ability to make money, they will walk back home on their own (if they're Mexican) and if they're anybody else thinking about sneaking over here they won't bother with the air-fare once word gets out that there's nothing for them here if they don't go through the proper channels.

There is no violence. Hell... we don't even need a wall if these laws are enforced, really.

Where do we come up with the money for all of this extra law enforcement, you might ask?

Let's legalize Pot.

Period.

All of the sudden, overnight, Black families have a 65% chance of having a Father Figure in their life instead of being locked up in Prison over Bullshit.

Jack: I sure did, because my previous stance about how oh feminism is so silly got my head kicked in and I learned how to respect myself as a result. Feminism has problems and there is unfairness facing men, but I won't ever discount the lessons I've learned in the past few years.

I was burned, hard, and now I'm rebuilding. I loathe pick up artists and negging and manipulators and people who take the red pill and other men superiority activists who hate feminism so much that they blame women for all their problems. They have nothing but contempt from me.

Also you keep flirting with me and yet you're straight, which continues to baffle me.

Otherwise, I think we're about half-way on the bandwagon on the equal and opposite sides.

Let's not go full tilt Byte.

I believe in Equality. Full blown Feminism in 2016 is about Female superiority.

When anybody says "white male" attached to any sort of hint of negative connotations, I get pissed off.

Anyone who negs on "white males" in general is either sexist and/or racist themselves. Period.

The days of "white males" who didn't do shit to anybody else being talked shit about and being abused on a daily basis, simply because they happen to be "white males", are quickly coming to an end.

Not arguing with you Byte, because you're not one of them. Just pointing out the facts since it came up.

I didn't chose my avatar, I just never bothered changing it from default. If I could have, I would have had no avatar, because I like anonymity as a commentary on my nihilistic tendencies.

I am agender. When I was a kid, I considered myself male. It has always been uncomfortable how people around here treated me like a girl, and the bullshit that I've gotten into because of that.

And yet I definitely haven't been treated like an equal. Because you wouldn't talk to other men like you talk to me.

People shouldn't shit on white males, but there is a level of reactionary politics in regards to race and sex that also shouts down actual problems that minorities have. In any case, I know this isn't a conversation you want to have, and it's not one I want to have either, so I'm going to follow through now on what I said earlier.

The American Brexit. In June, Britain voted to leave Europe. Yesterday, America voted to leave America.

Donald Trump came to the Detroit Economic Club, and stood there in front of the Ford Motor executives, and said, ‘If you close these factories as you’re planning to do in Detroit and build them in Mexico, I’m going to put a 35 percent tariff on those cars when you send them back, and nobody is going to buy them.’ It was an amazing thing to see. No politician, Republican or Democrat, had ever said anything like that to these executives. And it was music to the ears of people in Michigan and Ohio and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The Brexit states. … Whether Trump means it or not is kind of irrelevant because he’s saying the things to people who are hurting. And it’s why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff, who used to be part of what was called the middle class, loves Trump. He is the human Molotov cocktail that they’ve been waiting for. The human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them. And on Nov. 8, Election Day, although they’ve lost their jobs, although they’ve been foreclosed on by the bank, next came the divorce and now the wife and kids are gone, the car’s been repo’d, they haven’t had a real vacation in years, they’re stuck with the sh–ty Obamacare bronze plan, where you can’t even get a f—ing Percocet. They’ve essentially lost everything they had, except one thing. The one thing that doesn’t cost them a cent and is guaranteed to them by the American Constitution: the right to vote. They might be penniless, they might be homeless, they might be f—ed over and f—ed up, it doesn’t matter. Because it’s equalized on that day: a millionaire has the same number of votes as the person without a job, one. And there’s more of the former middle class than there are in the millionaire class.

So on Nov. 8, the dispossessed will walk into the voting booth, be handed a ballot, close the curtain, and take that lever or felt pen or touch screen and put a big f—ing ‘X’ in the box by the name of the man who has threatened to upend and overturn the very system that has ruined their lives: Donald J. Trump.

They see that the elites, who ruined their lives, hate Trump. Corporate America hates Trump. Wall Street hates Trump. The career politicians hate Trump. The media hates Trump – after they loved him, and created him, and now hate him. Thank you, media. The enemy of my enemy is who I’m voting for on Nov. 8. Yes, on Nov. 8, you: Joe Blow, Steve Blow, Bob Blow, Billy Blow, Billy Bob Blow, all the Blows get to go and blow up the whole goddamn system, because it’s your right. Trump’s election is going to be the biggest ‘f— you’ ever recorded in human history. And it will feel good. For a day. Maybe a week. Possibly a month. And then? Like the Brits, who wanted to send a message, so they voted to leave Europe. Only to find out, that if you voted to leave Europe, you actually have to leave Europe. And now they regret it. All the Ohioans, Pennsylvanians, Michiganders, and Wisconsinites of Middle England, right? They all voted to leave, and now they regret it – and over 4 million of them have signed a petition to have a do-over. They want another election. It ain’t going to happen. Because you used the ballot as an anger-management tool. And now you’re f—ed. And the rest of Europe? They’re like, ‘Bye, Felicia.’

So when the rightfully angry people of Ohio and Michigan and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin find out after a few months in office that President Trump wasn’t going to do a damn thing for them, it’ll be too late for them to do anything about it. But I get it. You wanted to send a message. You had righteous anger, and justifiable anger. Well, message sent. Good night, America. You just elected the last President of the United States.

Sorry, no. Can we get this one straight just one time? If 6 people disagree with 2 people that doesn't mean the 2 people are "being ganged up on."
Disagreeing with someone goes like this:

I think A because of evidence X, Y, Z"

"I disagree. X isn't relevant to your point because of 1, Y didn't really happen the way you described because of 2, and Z - while true - isn't important to your point."

"X relates to 1 in the following way: 11, 12, 13. Y has the further supporting evidence 21,22, and 23, and ... you're right, Z is true but not important.

It does NOT mean riding your name-calling hobby-horse into every thread, like THUGR does. Do you realize that "commie troll" is- literally - THUGR'S ONLY "contribution" to RWE??? It doesn't mean name-calling, lying, straw-manning, denial, nasty pictures and all of the other pot-shots and tactics that YOU rely on most of the time ... so much so that YOUR THREAD got banished to troll country. (And btw- when you start posting nasty pictures is when I know you've lost.)

Well, if Trump keeps his word, we will see a less "interventionist" USA. Sounds good to me! But I saw this, and I thought of you. I hope you like it!

Quote:

The flood of Trump-fearing American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week. The Republican presidential campaign is prompting an exodus among left-leaning Americans who fear they’ll soon be required to hunt, pray, pay taxes, and live according to the Constitution.

Canadian border residents say it’s not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, liberal arts majors, global-warming activists, and “green” energy proponents crossing their fields at night.

“I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn,” said southern Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. “He was cold, exhausted and hungry, and begged me for a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn’t have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?”

In an effort to stop the illegal aliens, Greenfield erected higher fences, but the liberals scaled them. He then installed loudspeakers that blared Rush Limbaugh across the fields, but they just stuck their fingers in their ears and kept coming. Officials are particularly concerned about smugglers who meet liberals just south of the border, pack them into electric cars, and drive them across the border, where they are simply left to fend for themselves after the battery dies.

“A lot of these people are not prepared for our rugged conditions,” an Alberta border patrolman said. “I found one carload without a single bottle of Perrier water, or any gemelli with shrimp and arugula. All they had was a nice little Napa Valley cabernet and some kale chips. When liberals are caught, they’re sent back across the border, often wailing that they fear persecution from Trump high-hairers.

Rumors are circulating about plans being made to build re-education camps where liberals will be forced to drink domestic beer, study the Constitution, and find jobs that actually contribute to the economy.

In recent days, liberals have turned to ingenious ways of crossing the border. Some have been disguised as senior citizens taking a bus trip to buy cheap Canadian prescription drugs. After catching a half-dozen young vegans in blue-hair wig disguises, Canadian immigration authorities began stopping buses and quizzing the supposed senior citizens about Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney to prove that they were alive in the ’50s.

“If they can’t identify the accordion player on The Lawrence Welk Show, we become very suspicious about their age,” an official said.

Canadian citizens have complained that the illegal immigrants are creating an organic-broccoli shortage, are buying up all the Barbara Streisand CD’s, and are overloading the internet while downloading jazzercise apps to their cell phones.

“I really feel sorry for American liberals, but the Canadian economy just can’t support them,” an Ottawa resident said. “After all, how many art-history majors does one country need?"

It is pretty obvious that Riverlove did NOT understand that this was filmmaker Michael Moore in the documentary Michael Moore in Trumpland. Probably doesn't know that Moore is real and Trump is faking his concern for the people who voted Trump. See if you can misunderstand this story:

Islamist extremists welcome Trump's victory
by Kareem Shaheen Thursday 10 November 2016 15.45 EST

ald-trump-victory

Abdullah al-Muhaisny, a key authority among radical circles in Syria, says Trump presidency will sow division and expose west’s hatred of Muslims

Jihadis have welcomed Donald Trump’s surprise victory in the American presidential race, saying his election would sow greater division and expose what they described as the hatred and racism of the west towards Muslims.

The endorsement of the election result by extreme Islamist figures highlighted fears that Trump’s divisive rhetoric and call to ban Muslims from entering the US could empower radicals who have argued that the west seeks Islam’s destruction and is at war with its adherents.

The idea has been central to Islamic State propaganda – at its height the terror group called on Muslims to abandon life abroad and flock to the territories it controls or risk indignity and oppression in western societies.

“Trump’s victory is an important step towards the victory of the Sunnis,” said Abdullah al-Muhaisny, a key authority among radical circles in Syria, who is believed by the US to be in league with al-Qaida.

“We have long tried to explain that the fight is not against terrorism, but against the Sunnis, and the mujahideen are just the frontline,” he added in a series of tweets on Thursday. “The American strategy will not change much, what has changed is that the war is open and not secret, and that is a good thing.”

Muhaisny said Trump’s victory will lay the groundwork for “bloody battles and great chaos,” saying he hoped the president-elect’s strategy of “exclusion and crushing opponents” will sow greater division in America.

Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, a key intellectual figure in al-Qaida who once shared a cell with Isis founder Abu Mus’ab al-Zarqawi, said he hoped Trump’s election would herald America’s ruin.

“Trump reveals the real mentality of the Americans and their racism towards Muslims and Arabs and everything,” he said in a tweet. “He only reveals what his predecessors have kept hidden.”

Rita Katz, the director of Site Intelligence, an organisation that tracks jihadi chatter on social media and online forums, said militants were predicting that Trump’s election would unite the ranks of jihadis and expose latent hatred towards Muslims.

Katz tweeted: “Pro-#ISIS & #Jihadis say they “prefer” #Trump to #Clinton because he is “telling Muslims what half of America thinks of them.”

Hamza Caribi, who runs a Twitter account affiliated with Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, the former al-Qaida wing in Syria, said Trump proved the failure of democracy. “From this day forward we will no longer need videos explaining the west’s plots,” he said. “We will only need to retweet what Trump says.”

I've got to say that I'm a little disappointed as to some of the replies in this thread, but even more so what I've seen in the other ones since I last posted here. At the same time, it's not at all unexpected, and to be truthful, at least in this thread, it was a lot better than I really could have hoped for.

I really do appreciate the attempt of most people to at least try to tone down the levels of hatred, at least in this thread. I do hope that as time goes on we can make this an overall trend and that we can one day argue our opinions without tearing each others' heads off and spitting down the neck holes.

Let's be honest with ourselves for a moment. No matter what we believe about any of this, at the end of the day, it is our Opinion. That's not to say that there aren't facts that we can't show each other through news articles (that are not themselves opinion based) and videos of actual happenings (assuming they are not also completely biased and/or taken out of context).

The moment we try to push our own Opinion based bias, or those of others as FACT, that is the moment we lose credibility. What eventually happens when we all start doing this is we slip down our own rabbit holes with other like-minded people here until we find ourselves in our very own Echo Chambers where the only things we actually hear anymore is other people echoing back what we want to believe is the Truth.

Honestly, I think we saw on a GRAND SCALE what can happen when too many people slip down into that echo chamber. 3 days later and the shock of a Trump presidency still has not sunk in for a lot of people who have no idea how it happened.

Including Fox News, the ONLY person on any of the MSM networks who was very confident of a Trump win was Sean Hannity. I hated Hannity when GWB was president, and to be honest, for over 7 1/2 years of Obama I didn't watch MSM at all. But now that I was paying attention again, I couldn't get my news from any MSM. I mean, I watched it just to see what people were saying there, but I didn't believe much of any of it. The Wikileaks were barely even reported on anywhere even though they were showing corruptions that were far worse than Watergate. It was insane how the MSM had changed in 8 years. Not even Fox News reported on it. On the rare occasions they even mentioned it, they focused on the wrong things for weeks and beat on them like a dead horse even though there were new, even more damning Wikileaks coming out every 2 days (and there are supposed to be new leaks continuing to come out through the end of 2016, BTW).

My point being here is that I was the only person I knew who believed with 99% or more certainty that Trump was going to win this election. Nobody else here did. Nobody in my life did. Even those who wished Hillary would lose didn't think there was a chance in hell that she actually would. None of the MSM believed it. None of the polls showed it (Except for IBD and the Daybreak Poll). Most of the people on the internet Underground Media didn't believe it.

I do find it kind of amusing now when the MSM shills discuss for hours on end how all of the polls could have been so wrong I often hear the phrase "Hidden Trump Voters" used. I believe for 2 months here I was talking about the "Closeted Trump Voters" myself that nobody believed existed, or at least didn't think existed in numbers great enough to make a difference.

Now while I find that amusing, what I don't find amusing at all is a reporter like Van Jones calling it a "White-Lash". This is an example of Extreme Bias in reporting, and I'll go as far as to say that it's Racist and even Dangerous to say something like this, especially amid several days now of ongoing anti-Trump protests in large cities that have sometimes broke out in violence. It's careless reporting and remarks like this that stoke the fire on both sides and can cause these protests to get out of hand.

Although I still don't agree with Van Jones' revised opinion in full, I do appreciate him revising his opinion. Jury is out if he decided to revise his remarks on his own or if he was under threat of losing his job if he didn't do it. Here it is:

Though I don't agree with everything he says here, I do feel that it was much more well thought out and it did not have the outright racist vibrations within the message. It was non-argumentative. It was, similar to the purpose of this thread here, a hopeful message that maybe we can come together on an agreement and start healing the divide.

Honestly, I don't even really blame Van Jones for his Racist, Bigoted comments he said in the heat of the moment when he first said them. I think that's a byproduct of the 24 Hour Cable News Media in general. There is no reason we should have 24 Hour Cable News Networks, Period. When 95% of what is said on any given day is nothing but Opinions by rich, overpaid assholes who have no idea what it is like to live like the rest of us do, it's not even news anymore.

Van Jones would NEVER have said that if he was a reporter on a local news network who reported the actual NEWS in 3 or 4 half hour segments a day instead of 24 hours of bullshit opinions that none of us should take with a grain of salt no matter who is saying them.

I'm going to be putting together another thread. One that I hope we can all come together and have a reasonable and hopefully productive conversation about by extension.

It will center largly around why I believe that a Trump Presidency is not the end of the world as some of you might actually believe here, as well as things I feel that he should do in the next 7 weeks, and in his first 100 days as president.

For any of you who actually know what the TPP was, I think you can agree that it would not have been good for our country. If nothing else so far, in less than 3 days the TPP is dead in the water. We'll discuss that in the new thread among many other things.

I look forward to speaking with all of you and hope we can squash the hate and actually get down to the Truth, and the Real Issues.

Thanks to everyone who is trying

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Hey Rap,

Just fair warning here...

When I speak of the "Outliers" of either side in the other thread, you're definitely one of the ones on the Right side. :)

Not good or bad, just saying it for what it is.

My point being that as "Right" as you are, I don't believe that you are Dogmatic in your beliefs.

"Educated" or not, and no matter what I agreed with you and disagreed with you, I always felt that you were very informed.

"Educated".

I don't know about you, but that was one POLL thing that always pissed me off. Especially since it always seemed to be only applied when figuring the white vote.

Educated Whites vote for Hillary.

Uneducated Whites vote against Hillary.

Take a deep breath Rap.

I got another thread coming that I think will be an eye opener for a lot of people.

Remember that I am not your "brah"... lol

We fought a lot when it was GWB back in the day.

Instead of teaming up with you when Obama owned it for 8 years i disappeared.

Independents. 3rd Party, non establishment fans won on the 8th of 10/2016.

I'm happy to have you on board. Just be nice to the others, and try to remain objective.

The whole point of all of this now is to persuade others to "Reality".

Although I don't agree with much of your reality, I do believe that on a scale of 1-10 you're about 2 pts closer to it than the equal and opposite extreme on the other side.

I love that we have a president that will tweet shit back at me at 3AM when I'm drunk.
