CIA espionage orders for the last French presidential election

Quote:

All major French political parties were targeted for infiltration by the CIA's human ("HUMINT") and electronic ("SIGINT") spies in the seven months leading up to France's 2012 presidential election. The revelations are contained within three CIA tasking orders published today by WikiLeaks as context for its forth coming CIA Vault 7 series. Named specifically as targets are the French Socialist Party (PS), the National Front (FN) and Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) together with current President Francois Hollande, then President Nicolas Sarkozy, current round one presidential front runner Marine Le Pen, and former presidential candidates Martine Aubry and Dominique Strauss-Khan.

The CIA assessed that President Sarkozy's party was not assured re-election. Specific tasking concerning his party included obtaining the "Strategic Election Plans" of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP); schisms or alliances developing in the UMP elite; private UMP reactions to Sarkozy's campaign stratagies; discussions within the UMP on any "perceived vulnerabilities to maintaining power" after the election; efforts to change the party's ideological mission; and discussions about Sarkozy's support for the UMP and "the value he places on the continuation of the party's dominance". Specific instructions tasked CIA officers to discover Sarkozy's private deliberations "on the other candidates" as well as how he interacted with his advisors. Sarkozy's earlier self-identification as "Sarkozy the American" did not protect him from US espionage in the 2012 election or during his presidency.

CIA CONDUCTS INTENSIVE SPYING ON FRENCH ECONOMIC PROSPECTS

Quote:

WikiLeaks Synopsis
This classified US intelligence "Information Need" spying order mandates long term economic espionage against France in order to obtain details about the economic activities of French companies and the economic policies and decisions of the French government. Information Needs (IN) are collection requirements extracted from the National SIGINT Requirements List, and are used to broadly justify the interception of communications in order to satisfy generic intelligence demands from U.S. policy makers and the U.S. Intelligence Community. This IN, identified as 2002-204 (first created in 2002 and updated for more than a decade) and referenced in the list of Top NSA French Targets previously published by WikiLeaks, shows which particular information of interest ("Essential Elements of Information", EEI) the relevant Signals Intelligence units are instructed to collect and report about. Such requirements include France's economic relations with the United States, other countries and international institutions, France's financial and trade policies, and its views on G-8 and G-20 agendas. "Supported Elements" are those parts of the US government which are supported by (i.e receive intelligence reports derived from) the espionage.

Sig, theses are the sources of Wikipedia's story. They took a bunch of different stories and created one that suits them. In college you are not allowed to source Wikipedia because it can not be trusted. I am not so strict, but stories put together like this where the sources are not listed can't be trusted and anyone can edit said stories. I'll wait for the real news to report on this.

Once again you set up a thread to bash and discredit a protector of our democracy.

Are you falling for all that fake news again? Anything that reports the truth about Obama's despicable actions is called Fake news, didn't you know that?
You need to find evidence that Bobo was not really a crook in the White House before your sources can be labeled real News. Good Luck with that.

Are you really that thick. I am not defending Obama, not even close. Are you paying attention to what you are posting about? Or does your hatred of Obama block your deductive reasoning skills?

Do you have deductive reasoning skills?

I think it's likely that many of the more developed nations are meddling in elections of other nations. I think that for probably about a decade they've been getting away with it, but people are noticing now because it's unacceptable no matter who's doing it.

I also think that the CIA et al., do a lot of operations off the books in regards to this, and have since the 80s.

Nations have been meddling throughout recorded history.
No relation to "more developed" or less.
Only related to more, or less, civil or diplomatic.

These are reasons why the U.S. had previously had clear guidelines regarding such things, like assassinations in particular. But Obama has thrown out rules of civility and diplomatic decorum. Announcing to the world that we are spying, tapping, and intercepting their phone calls does a great back-stabbing disservice to our "Intelligence" community.
