Iraqi and western coalition forces have gained the last holdout portion of the Old City of Mosul. Like the battle for Aleppo, and for Grozny before that, the city that was liberated is also in ruins, with many (so far uncounted) civilian dead.

A victory to celebrate, but a traumatized people, and much to be restored. All of this because of GWB's 2003 invasion of Iraq, on a snipe hunt for WMD.

These photos are not from before 3 years ago.
You must mean all of this is because, after Coalition Forces already liberated Mosul, Obama/Hilliary created ISIS and gifted Mosul to them, to enslave the Mosul civilians to the ISIS terrorists.

Pure genius by Obama. By refusing to negotiate a S.O.F.A. with Iraq, he got the political cover he needed to pull all our troops out. Then came all the Muslim-on-Muslim carnage. Absolutely brilliant!

What better proof that Bobo supports Muslim Terrorists while despising peaceful-type Islamics?

Syria: Barrage of Barrel Bombs

Attacks on Civilians Defy UN Resolution

(New York) – The Syrian government is raining high explosive barrel bombs on civilians in defiance of a unanimous United Nations Security Council resolution, Human Rights Watch said today. Resolution 2139 of February 22, 2014, ordered all parties to the conflict in Syria to end the indiscriminate use of barrel bombs and other weapons in populated areas.

The Security Council will meet on July 30 for its fifth round of reporting on the resolution. Since it was passed, Human Rights Watch has documented over 650 major new damage sites consistent with barrel bomb impacts on neighborhoods of the city of Aleppo held by non-state armed groups. Non-state armed groups participate in indiscriminate attacks as well, including car bombings and mortar attacks in pro-government areas.

Airstrikes propel Mosul gains, despite toll on civilians

Iraqi forces say their recent territorial gains against the Islamic State group in Mosul's Old City have largely been propelled by airstrikes, despite a spike in allegations of civilian casualties and warnings from human rights groups of the dangers of using large munitions in the dense, highly-populated area.

As strikes pummeled the Old City Sunday, hundreds of civilians fled. Many were badly injured and had to be carried out over mounds of rubble by family members. Deeper inside the district, narrow alleyways were littered with bodies.

The Observer view on civilian casualties in the battle against Isis

The long-sought victory over Isis, while evidently welcome, is coming at a terrible cost. Paulo Sérgio Pinheiro, chief war crimes investigator on the UN’s independent international commission of inquiry on Syria, said last week that US-led coalition airstrikes were devastating Raqqa’s civilian population.

“We note in particular that the intensification of airstrikes... has resulted not only in staggering loss of civilian life, but has also led to 160,000 civilians fleeing their homes and becoming internally displaced,” Pinheiro told the UN human rights council in Geneva. The commission says 300 civilians died in Raqqa province in the three months to 31 May. About 200 of these deaths reportedly occurred in an airstrike in March on the village of Mansoura, to which many displaced families had fled.

East Aleppo’s last hospital destroyed by airstrikes

The last operating hospital in east Aleppo has been destroyed by airstrikes, leaving up to 250,000 residents without access to surgery or specialist care, and rebel-held districts at the point of collapse.

Another four hospitals were hit and forced to close on Friday, before the Omar bin Abdul Aziz facility was struck just after 8.30pm, capping the most deadly day yet for the medical system in Syria’s second city, which has been systematically targeted by Russian and regime jets over the past year.

“They have all been repeatedly attacked over the last few days,” said David Nott, a surgeon with decades of experience working in war zones, who has been supporting the Aleppo doctors.

“I don’t think in all my years of doing this I’ve seen such dreadful pictures of injuries, of people lying on the floor in an emergency room, the dead mixed with the living,” said Nott. At least two doctors were among the dead, he said, and he feared hospitals that had kept operating under attack and with dwindling supplies might now have been shut down permanently.

Israelis, Palestinians ink U.S.-backed water deal

July 13 (UPI) -- Israel and the Palestinian Authority announced a deal Thursday that will provide 32 million cubic meters of drinking water to the West Bank and Gaza annually.

The deal, brokered by U.S. envoy Jason Greenblatt, will transfer salty water from the Red Sea to a massive desalination plant where it will be made drinkable. It will then be sold under a trilateral agreement to Israel, the Palestinians and Jordan. The salty runoff will be carried via a pipeline to help replenish the Dead Sea, which is shrinking away at a rate of about 3 feet per year.

I see that THUGR is recycling news from Aleppo, Syria, 2016 into this thread about Mosul, Iraq, 2017.

The news articles are all very similar. I can even find MSM ones about Iraqi troops, under the gaze of their American trainers, torturing Iraqis who are suspected of ties with ISIS. So if we're going to get all huffy about ethical breaches, we may as well be even-handed about it. As they say "What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander".

Iraq: Alleged ISIS Families Sent to ‘Rehabilitation Camp’

Evictions, Detentions Amount to Collective Punishment

(Beirut) – Iraqi Security Forces have forcibly relocated at least 170 families with alleged Islamic State members to a closed “rehabilitation camp” east of Mosul, Human Rights Watch said today. Local authorities are also demanding the eviction of families thought to have ties to the Islamic State (also known as ISIS), many of whom have been the target of threats and attacks.

On June 19, Mosul’s district council issued a directive that so-called ISIS families should be sent to camps “to receive psychological and ideological rehabilitation, after which they will be reintegrated into society if they prove responsive to the rehabilitation program.” On July 9, authorities in Nineveh opened the first “rehabilitation camp” in Bartalla, 14 kilometers east of Mosul. Forced displacements and arbitrary detentions have been taking place in Anbar, Babil, Diyala, Salah al-Din, and Nineveh governorates, altogether affecting hundreds of families. Iraqi security and military forces have done little to stop these abuses, and in some instances participated in them.

“Iraqi authorities shouldn’t punish entire families because of their relatives’ actions,” said Lama Fakih, deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. “These abusive acts are war crimes and are sabotaging efforts to promote reconciliation in areas retaken from ISIS.”

On July 11, Human Rights Watch visited Bartalla camp, where 150 families, mostly women and children from areas of west Mosul, were being held. The camp received another 20 families by the next day. Human Rights Watch interviewed 14 families, each with up to 18 members.

New residents said that Iraqi Security Forces had brought the families to the camp and that the police were holding them against their will because of accusations that they had relatives linked to ISIS. None said they had been accused of any wrongdoing themselves. They did not know when they would be allowed to leave.

The camp had a mobile medical clinic, but only very limited humanitarian services were being provided, with no education, training, or other programs. Medical workers at the camp said that at least 10 women and children had died traveling to or at the camp, most because of dehydration. The camp is managed by local authorities and draws funding and support from the Iraqi Ministry of Displacement and Migration.

Human Rights Watch witnessed ethnic Shabak fighters from an Iraqi government Popular Mobilization Forces unit manning a checkpoint outside the camp. A Mosul emergency police unit stood guard at the camp entrance. Despite the absence of adult men in many of the families, no female police officers were evident, raising concerns about vulnerability to gender-based violence. Camp officials said that at least 20 unaccompanied children were at the camp, all under 12, who had been settled into tents with larger families.

Mosul may be liberated when its peoples are allowed return to their ancient cultures, tradition and religions which were Sumerian, Babylonian, Sasanian, Zoroastrianism, Egyptian, Parthian, Christian, Jewish, Vedic, Akkadian, Kurish, Yeizidi, the Medes, Mesopotamia before the arrival of the jihadist bullshit called islam.

I don't really know what to say about this mess that's already been said, this islamism and chaos, the political unrest and so called islamic state it probably goes back a while. Some say it goes back many, many administrations. Depending on the history some say it begins with a 1999 Jordanian radical, then a GW Bush invasion of Iraq whiched attempted to toe Saddam to WMDs and 911, followed by Obama's crap foreign policy and now Trump going in to kickass. I think the West, the USA and its allies have allowed this islamism to grow, blame can also go around to other states like the African nations and also Soviet Russians who probably laughed in secret as Carter and Regan had to deal with the Iranian troubles. A major problem in the West are the disconnects between the elected Leaders and the Deep State, some people say its stupid, they call it conspiracy, people might respond by saying this is stupid to say a Deep State conspiracy runs the show. However it is now well documented, some of these theories go too far they are tinfoil headed wacky stuff about Freemasons, Jews, Saudi, Lizards, David Icke Alex Jones infowars level stuff you name it...however there are often people exposed pulling the strings behind the scenes...maybe just a group, a cabal a society of bankers, political elites, militray industrial contractors, sell outs to globalist foreign powers. Guys like Henry Kissinger, the Bush Family, the Clinton Family, McCain, Lindsey Graham etc Some said Trump was different but is he really? In the end people will say the Deep State will run the show? Will they tell you about some corrupt connection that constantly allows Western weapons to fall into hands of islamist terrorists, only for the USA having to fight and face its own weapons on the battlefields? Is there a Deep State causing this mess?
https://www.thenation.com/article/what-is-the-deep-state/
http://www.softpanorama.org/Skeptics/Political_skeptic/Two_party_syste
m_as_poliarchy/US_presidential_elections/Candidates/Trump/trump_vs_deep_state.shtml
Many will tell you an elected leader doesn't really control things and the Deep State is for real, a secret organization or collection of sell out globalists trying to steal the USA or steal your country out from underneath you? Maybe that's what they are afraid of, truly independent voices? Ralph Nader, Jesse Ventura, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, the Patrick Buchanans and Ron Pauls and the secret deal to eliminate choice “Exclude Third-Party Candidates” from the Two Party State?

Syria its a mess now

maybe Iraq can be fixed?

My gut tells me IS or Daesh or the so-called Islamic State or whatever the hell they are called might be 'destroyed' they might die, but a few will probably hang on in the sand dunes, ghettos, outskirt villages and mountains. ISIS might die in name but another name might pop up tomorrow, another Saudi Whabbist, another Sunni islamist organization, another Shitte terrorist group, another Hezbollah, al Qaeda, moslem brotherhood, another Pakistani islamic terroristic militia, Iranian terror group getting its weapons by Irangate, al-Nusra etc Basically all different flavors of the same BS and the willingness of the West to get into bed with Orthodox islamists or Fundamentalist muslims, people who follow the ways of a 1,400 year old mad man named mohammed, the founder of islam a rapist, an extremist, mass murderer, war monger, liar, radical islamist, cheating adulterer, thief, terrorist, pedophile....the garbage religion of islam calls the Quran or Koran the perfect book and considers mohammed, founder of islam the perfect man....the strange thing is despite islam, sometimes the region can produce good people with individual qualities, including some good people who happen to be muslim

However islam is wrong, schizophrenic and violent

Yet the DeepState was willing to get into bed with these islamists

One good thing the Obama Admin made, opening a door to see what's inside the censored secret 28 pages of the 9/11 report? Pushing a declassification review, in July 2016 one a Senator Bob Graham another Walter B. Jones, Jr. and Stephen Lynch and a push from other bipartisan members, yet some old money elite globalists like Jay Rockefeller....grandson of the other illumaniti internationalist 'Rockerfeller' wanted the 28 pages kept in secret, showing the massive disconnect some of these elites have from the people.

One thing I notice is how many of those high profile 'conspiracy' the alt news bloggers, the PirateNews style people they started supporting Trump.

The whole political season with Bush, Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump it really got people divided. Even more restrained rational people like Sam Harris were talking of doomsday scenarios with the election. So whyfor example was Alex Jones endorsing and later fully supporting Donald Trump? Jones is a kind of shock jock, alt-news, conspiracy preacher, claims to be a libertarian or Constitutionalist and he was previously anti-Bush and anti-Obama and anti-internationalism talks about illuminati conspiracy etc One defining characteristic of Jones and his Infowars radio, vids and websites is criticism of the Washington political establishment. Trump is unique let's say and hatever else Trump is, he is rich but not one of the old boys, he is certainly far outside of the elite club and adamantly opposed to that older bloodline establishment.

Is Trump a clever deal maker, manipulator, good player, strategist? Maybe part of the problem is how the mainstream constantly under estimated U.S President Trump
