Here is a story about Niagara Falls, apparently getting a large sewage dump:

However it reminds me of something else, which I don't see a pertinent thread to hijack.

I recently saw a presentation on the Wyalusing River. This was the pre-glacier river which is now the upper Mississippi and St.Croix River valleys. All of Minnesota drained into it, bumping into the Mineral Ridge at modern day Prairie Du Chein (WI), turning east into the modern day Wisconsin River, and flowing to Green Bay and out through the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Atlantic. Glacial freezing and deposits in the middle of Wisconsin caused the river basin to back up until the resulting lake overflowed at the lowest ridge point, and joined the Mississippi.

The same things occurred in the upper Ohio River Valley, with rivers from West Virginia joining and flowing north until getting diverted to the current Ohio River, and also the mid-Ohio River system which also flowed north until getting diverted to the current Ohio River, which all flows into the Mississippi.

It was pointed out that this drainage area which was changed had produced about 1/3 of the volume of river flow to the St. Lawrence River. Which would be an additional 50% of it's current volume.

This is a huge difference, and because it is largely done by researchers in USA I wasn't sure if Canadians were aware of it.
This may or may not have bearing on Native American history.

However it did point out that current Climate Justice claims could misinterpret geological findings without the proper context.

I was hoping Brenda would peek in this thread, in case she has interest.

Sounds like you were not already aware, so I've accomplished my good deed for the week.
