America loves a winner!

Now why'd they do that??

Hmmmm.

One day in late August, national security adviser Susan Rice called Daniel into her office and demanded he cease and desist from working on the cyber options he was developing. “Don’t get ahead of us,” she warned him. The White House was not prepared to endorse any of these ideas. Daniel and his team in the White House cyber response group were given strict orders: “Stand down.” She told Daniel to “knock it off,” he recalled.

Why would anybody call Mueller? He is only covering up Treason and Collusion of Democraps with Russia. He already knows about this, so he can dismiss it.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I remember reading that Clapper's original response was, essentially, they snoop on us, we snoop on them, they know we're snooping, we know they're snooping, it balances out and it's stable.

The US is not now and may never be ready for all out cyberwarfare. Our operating systems have back doors built into them, and are otherwise insecure as hell. Our water/ electricity/ gas/ materials and energy infrastructure isn't secured. Neither is our banking/ communications/ trading electronic one. (Aside from which, 'algos' are now driving the bulk of trading and are susceptible to focused manipulation.)

Do we really want to fire the first shot in a war we can't win?

So anyway ... anyone up for a rational, fact-based, and civil discussion about the topic?

I wouldn't say that we couldn't win it...

It wouldn't be pretty though.

Don't make me laugh. Russia's economy is $1.3 trillion while American's economy exceeds $18 trillion. If we were to seriously go after Russia in any way they would be in a world of hurt. Then there's our NATO allies who are growing less patient with Russia.

To avoid a nuclear war while decimating Russia all we need do is pick them apart here and there. Slowly, methodically shut them down until they are bottled up.

And if you and sig truly do live in this country now we'll use your tax dollars to do it. Thanks guys....

Sorry - I couldn't tell from that snippet whether you were being serious or not or why you were posting it. It appears to verify that Russia hacked the 2016 election and unfortunately our response was not strong enough. I thought you were a Trump guy all the way, so you can understand my confusion.

So you're afraid of North Korea, but Russia is no big deal?

There's no doubt that if it came to it we'd win against Russia eventually, but we wouldn't trounce them and life could get a lot tougher for all of the people already struggling here for a while if it did.

I can't tell whether the hubris in your post echoed Clinton or Trump more.

You dummy Jack, we've already trounced them. You must not have any grasp of history and time. Of course you don't. Changing the world doesn't happen overnight. Two steps forward one step back is how it works Jack.

The Soviet Union is gone and we're sitting on Russia's door step. Look at a map. It only took 46 years and we didn't fire a shot Jack. Didn't fire a shot Jack. Grow a brain. Everything they are doing now is a desperate attempt to stem the flow. They acted out and are feeling their oats. When Trump is gone the'll be licking their wounds.

If you don't agree a Russian payback is coming then you don't understand Americans. We don't like being fucked with. You also don't fully understand what Mueller is doing. He is making a tremendous case for getting even. Payback is coming.

Do you get it kiki sig, it's coming.

Hey six

just responding to this: "There's no doubt that if it came to it we'd win against Russia eventually, but we wouldn't trounce them and life could get a lot tougher for all of the people already struggling here for a while if it did."

Since the microprocessor vulnerabilities were uncovered (Affected hardware. The Meltdown vulnerability primarily affects Intel microprocessors, but some ARM microprocessors are also affected. ... Researchers have indicated that the Meltdown vulnerability is exclusive to Intel processors, while the Spectre vulnerability can possibly affect some Intel, AMD, and ARM processors), they're just waiting to be exploited until the processors are re-tooled and replaced. That breaks pretty much every 'WINTEL' system, since Windows carries its own baggage of vulnerabilities, and Windows is also built on current Intel architecture. If you retool Intel, you'd have to rebuild Windows.

But hey everybody, don't worry about your 'WINTEL' system. This is out of the news so it must not be a problem anymore. ha ha ...

Most servers AFAIK have a Linux-type OS, but I'm not sure about their chips. But the places they connect to - banks, corporations etc, are vulnerable. (I make a game of looking at boot-up screens when I'm at the store, the doctor's office, the bank ... if they have to boot up while I'm there. It happens more often than one might think. And while most people are just waiting, frustrated at the hiccup in their day, "I like to watch".)

So anyway ... anyone up for a rational, fact-based, and civil discussion about the topic?

G/CC is easily confused.
For clarity, this revelation confirms that Obama and other Democraps condoned, endorsed, enabled, and supported the Election meddling by Russia.

What I find hilarious about everything that is going on is the Democrats put up the most unlikable and least trustworthy candidate imaginable and then wonder why a game show host who didn't even really want to be president won.

And all we can do is blame it on other countries?

A federal judge denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing President Donald Trump of receiving improper payments from states and foreign governments — or emoluments — through his Washington hotel in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
