HAHAHAHA!!!

I remember him from his engineer role in The China Syndrome.

It was an awesome movie, made prescient by Three Mile Island loss-of-coolant disaster a few days after the movie came out. If you ever get a chance, you should watch it.

SIX: Indeed. There is nothing Trump can do, or not do, or do oppositely, that will satisfy some people here. They're bound and determined to hate, even if they have to reverse their reasoning mid-sentence in order to do it.

I'm curious to see what comes of this. Trump, for all his bluster and shifting narratives, halted the joint S Korean- USA military exercises because it was "too expensive". He has withdrawn financial support (they say) from ISIS in southern Syria, allowing the government to make a final push towards the Jordanian and Israeli-occupied Golan Heights border. There is a rumor - squelched by the WH, but who knows? - that Trump might w/draw American troops from Germany.

IMHO, these are all positive steps. America should give up its imperialistic activities, since the world is a much more robust place than before, when we could "take" territory on the cheap after WWII, and attempting to hold onto our foreign bases is likely to get more and more expensive. The only foreign region where we have a REAL interest is in the Mideast, with the petrodollar. Even then, we should be shoring up our economy, instead of imposing "value" on our petrodollar via the military. But, like Trump says ... We'll see.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. Though it's always possible, like with the Kim meeting, every thing's already worked out. Also, here we'll have some access to what Putin says, and we''ll be able to compare it to what Trump says, in terms of stated agenda and verbalized results.

Supposedly the MSM is all flustered about the upcoming summit.

NATO will probably come up including the forward-positioning of USA missiles on Russia's border. Syria, Ukraine, Iran ... there's a lot to talk about. I would be surprised if sanctions even come up.

I STILL like the cartoon!

What comes now is full-on, out-in-the-open warfare between the deep state and Trump. They will, if they haven't already, advocate for impeachment, resignation, or an outright military coup*. (* Which, if you've lost track of what treason is and isn't, is actual treason.)

The alt right say that Trump is trolling the lot of them. That he has sealed indictments waiting in the wings, and is simply provoking the deep state to see who gives the orders and where information flows. For sure, people like Hillary and Rosenstein should have been indicted years ago, but I guess I'll believe THAT when I see it.

Fun times ahead.

Just one more thing ....

It occurred to me very late in the game that much of the so-called "evidence" against Russia is sourced in the UK, including the "dossier" and Skripal 1.0 (where ARE the Skripals, btw? The seem as incommunicado as Julian Assange.) and Skripal 2.0,

Plus many of those "contacts" arranged in London, like with Mifsud who can't seem to be located anymore.

Supposedly, British financier Bill Browder sent $400 million to the Clinton campaign ... speaking of foreign influences on our election. (Altho I head an offhand comment that the largest single foreign donor to the Clinton campaign wasn't the Saudis or the Brits but Ukraine. Of course, they can't LEGALLY send money to the campaign directly, so it probably went to the Clinton Foundation. Hence, the 33,000 emails.)

Back to Britain. This anti-Russia stuff looks a lot like the anti-Saddam "intelligence" that the Brits fabricated(?) laundered(?) which said that the Iraq WMD was a "slam dunk".

It seems to me that MI6's function, among other things, is to provide plausible deniability/ gloss of respectability to "information" that would be looked at with suspicion if the CIA just popped up with it on its own.

Well, my "prediction" was a little late. One politician has already called for a military coup:

That's traitor #1. I wonder who else would like to step up to the plate.

Thanks for the deflection dump! You were a little late with this one... maybe you should read more fibre?

"Military coup" = ha ha... you're a crack up! Although John Kelly looks like he could go ballistic at any second.

"The alt right say that Trump is trolling the lot of them." Cites? Presumably there are more than a handful of Alt Righters - how do you know what "they" say?

Are you going to retry Hillary again? I bet I know how that turns out.

What did Rosenstein do? Follow the Rule of Law?

Yes - fun reading ahead!

FWIW I think those expecting a blizzard of indictments will be deeply disappointed.

Yup. That is a pretty dangerous statement to make, isn't it?

If Hillary were president, he would have already been suicided.

All "jest" aside, I do think this brings up the need for a very tough conversation about Social Media.

Should what Cohen said be considered Treason?

I don't think that's an easy question to answer.

I have no doubt in my mind that if this were the mid 90's that nobody would ever know that this is a thought that ran through Cohen's head.

People who use Social Media regularly seem to have lost their filter. It's an expected outcome if we're just talking about kids and high school life, but who knew that it would be crusty old adult politicians who should know better doing it just as much?

And yes, I include Trump's many ill-advised Tweets here as well.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Except not really.

Cohen embarrassed himself.

Even if it was said in jest, it didn't come across that way and he's just downplaying it now. The implication was a call for a coup.

I'm starting to think that all politicians should just be banned from Twitter.

The "Deep State" wins again! When will Trump, and his cronies, ever learn? The score is so lopsided that he should turn in his Captain Marvel decoder ring and call it a day. No way he wins, why bother.
