I just heard that steps to actually turn off location tracking for real is now posted at commando.com which is apparently Kim Commando's website.
Sounds like none of the various applications make it easy. But they tested out and researched all of the steps and results.

I'm not really worried about it. I'm of the mind that the more you turn all of this stuff off, the bigger a bullseye you're painting on your back anyhow.
