Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

"Tribalism, 60% of her constituents are minorities."

You DID post this - did you not?

Do you think African Americans will vote for a Hispanic because they're both 'minorities'? Do you think an East-Asian will vote for a Hispanic because they're both 'minorities'? How about a South-Asian? How about a Native American? If Anglos find themselves demographically a minority will they vote for a Hispanic because they're both 'minorities'? If you believe that, then you don't know what 'tribalism' means. Either that, or you're such a stupid racist, you think all 'minorities' are the same. And you think that 'minorities' are so racist, race is all they vote on.

Further, if you look at the map - assuming you have enough intelligence to pick the proper maps of course, and understand them - you'll see that there are areas less than 40% Hispanic that voted for Cortez. There are even areas less than 15% Hispanic that voted for her. OTOH there area areas up to 100% Hispanic that voted for Crowley, the Anglo dude. I'll even point one out because it's named on the map - an area near Schuylerville that's 60.1-100% Hispanic is split nearly down the middle between Cortez and Crowley.

But if you can't understand basic information, you should note this: your troll buddies aren't jumping into your shit to tell you how right you are. That should give you a clue.

But I'm sure they appreciate you taking one for the team.

A bunch of white progressives under 35 made up a majority of her primary voting base. The primary was the only vote that mattered here since the general was always going to go to whoever the Democratic candidate was.

You'll find the diversity in the General election for sure though.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Ocasio-Cortez was the first person since 2004 to challenge the Democratic Caucus Chair, Joe Crowley, in the Democratic primary. She faced a significant financial disadvantage, but said, "You can't really beat big money with more money. You have to beat them with a totally different game." Nearly 75% of her donations were small individual contributions, while less than one percent of Crowley's contributions were.[31] The Ocasio-Cortez campaign spent $194,000 to the Crowley campaign's $3.4 million.[43]

Ocasio-Cortez was endorsed by progressive and civil rights organizations such as MoveOn,[49] Justice Democrats,[50] Brand New Congress,[51] Black Lives Matter,[52] and Democracy for America,[37] and by gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon, who, like Ocasio-Cortez, also challenged a longtime incumbent, Andrew Cuomo, in the 2018 New York gubernatorial election.[53]

Governor Cuomo endorsed Crowley, as did both of New York's U.S. Senators, Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, 11 U.S. Representatives, 31 local elected officials, 31 trade unions, and progressive groups such as the Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, the Working Families Party, NARAL Pro-Choice America and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, among others.

On June 26, 2018, Ocasio-Cortez received 57.13% of the vote (15,897) to Joe Crowley's 42.5% (11,761), defeating the 10-term incumbent by almost 15 percentage points.

As Gotham Gazette reported
Quote:

http://www.gothamgazette.com/state/7774-a-closer-look-at-voter-turnout
-in-2018-new-york-congressional-primaries

Maps compiled by the CUNY Center for Urban Research show that support in the election that has the country buzzing did not break down neatly on racial lines; in fact, Ocasio-Cortez maintained strong support throughout the district, across areas of various demographic makeups.
“This wasn’t a fluke,” said Steven Romalewski, of the Center for Urban Research. “She was able to get voters from almost every neighborhood to come out and support her.” Romalewski noted that, contrary to the conventional wisdom of voting on racial lines, the areas where Ocasio-Cortez’s showing was strongest were areas that weren’t predominantly Hispanic, signaling that her showing may not have been due to the district’s changing demographics (it has been steadily becoming less white for years), but due to desire for change from Crowley.

But turnout was only about 13%.

Digging back to the CUNY center that did the analysis:
Quote:

It Was Not the Hispanics Who Gave the Victory to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
https://www.gc.cuny.edu/News/All-News/Detail?id=45531
"The majority of her votes, her biggest support, came from areas that were not predominantly Hispanic ," Romalewski was quoted as saying to NY1 News. "You would have expected the opposite."

(This paragraph retrieved from the original linked article printed in Spanish) A map shows the highest concentration of votes in places like Sunnyside and the far north of Astoria, where young newcomers to the District are grouped. "They seem to be people who have not been involved in the process before," Romalewski said

And, it's funny watching THUGGER double, triple, and quadruple down on being wrong ... ... wrong, wrong, AND wrong.

I figured I didn't need to wait long before you schooled the Troll.

Do you have a map to post of what is the racial makeup of that bottom and left area of Queens where she got all her votes, since it obviously is not Hispanic. Absent a map of total votes cast, it looks like Hispanics did not vote.

How often are we reminded that Trolls are illiterate?

Maybe Trolls are so Racist that they think that minorities are one group of non-whites. And minorities are so stupid that they cannot think for themselves, and are required to vote the way Trolls tell them to.

This is something of a success story for Democrats. With the creation of Dept of Educamation and constant work to dumb down America enough to make all Democrats, they have managed to spread beyond merely dumbing down minorities, and now have dumbed down whites enough to vote for such a clueless and asinine spewing Socialist.

You guys think you can post shit and say it means something it does not. If you superimpose those district maps showing the Hispanic population compared to votes won, you only prove me right.

Even if you stupid's begin to realize that 49% of the voters in her district are Hispanic. That someone can only win by getting a majority of the Hispanic vote. There's still no hope for you.

Man you guys are stupid. Think identity politics. You know, something you've all been complaining about. Welp, here it is.

She won 13% of the vote.
OBVIOUSLY not a single Hispanic voter needed to vote for her to achieve that.

lol. Now I finally see the problem we've got here.

T's an actual full on retard.

Hey T, don't make any retard babies, or JSF is going to have to support them with the capitol gains on his 401k.

Note to JSF: She actually won 57.5% of 13%, or 15,897 out of 27,658 votes, which means that only 7.45% of the people in her district voted for her against Crowley in the primary.

Wasn't there about 18% whites in the district? That would mean it would have been possible for her to win the primary if only unemployed SJW progressive NPC whites voted for her and their disappointed parents were too busy working one of their three shitty part time jobs to put these ungrateful bastards through school to find time in their day to vote.

At a campaign meet-and-greet, he told Democrats that Ocasio-Cortez was making the primary “about race,” which was “unnecessarily divisive.” “I can’t help that I was born white,” he added.

is about 50 percent Latino, 40 percent Spanish-speaking, and about three-quarters people of color

Ocasio-Cortez has occasionally encouraged the demographic interpretation of her win. “There are a lot of districts in this country that are like NY-14, that have changed a lot in the last 20 years, and whose representation has not,” she told Chuck Todd on Meet the Press Sunday morning. But more often, she’s tried to complicate simplistic understandings of what many analysts call identity politics

And Ocasio-Cortez’s astounding 15-point win over Crowley should embolden citizens of color to demand, or become, the representation they deserve in a legislative body that has for too long treated their needs as negotiable and their lives as political bargaining chips
