6ix, your problem is with Colin Powell, not Mueller. You are blaming Mueller for referencing Powell’s claim that Iraq had WMDs, a claim that Powell made before the U.N. just days before this video of Mueller. You are blaming the wrong guy, 6ix. Unfortunately, Congress never investigated Powell’s use of the intelligence he was given, so we don’t know many of the specifics. Even so, what did reach the public record in other ways is extremely damning. While the corporate media has never taken a close look at this record, we can go through Powell’s presentation line by line to demonstrate the chasm between what he knew and what he told the world. As you’ll see, there’s quite a lot to say about it.

Public Certainty, Private Doubt

On that February 5 in front of the U.N. Security Council, was Colin Powell certain what he was saying was accurate? He certainly was:

POWELL: My colleagues, every statement I make today is backed up by sources, solid sources. These are not assertions. What we’re giving you are facts and conclusions based on solid intelligence.

Later, regarding whether Iraq had reconstituted a nuclear weapons program, he said:

POWELL: There is no doubt in my mind …

That’s in public. What about in private? According to Larry Wilkerson, Powell’s chief of staff, here’s what Powell was thinking at the time:

WILKERSON: [Powell] had walked into my office musing and he said words to the effect of, ‘I wonder how we’ll all feel if we put half a million troops in Iraq and march from one end of the country to the other and find nothing.’

Thanks for clearing that up.

So what Mueller did was not at all unlike what anybody watching CNN does when they repeat something that Rachel Maddow says with no evidence behind it other than the fact that she said it.

Now it all makes perfect sense.

Here's an example of what Mueller did and what Maddow fans have been doing the last two years:

I agree, Jimmy. It is quite funny.

Maybe for you, 6ix, but it's not similar enough for me. Rachel Maddow does not make life or death decisions nor does Maddow swear an oath that she knows the whole truth. She has a simpler task: don't deliberately create falsehoods inside her own head then sell her viewers on false "truth". She may say something that turns out not to be perfectly true, but that would be because she doesn't have the power to convict her staff and/or her sources of perjury and throw the liars into jail. Mueller has that power, but he does not have a daily show.

Powell’s loyalty to Bush extended to being willing to deceive the world: Robert Mueller, the United Nations, and the coalition troops about to be sent to kill and die in Iraq. He’s never been held accountable for his actions 15 years ago, and it’s extremely unlikely he ever will be.

Oh, so what you're saying is that Mueller DID have power and responsibility and carelessly lead the nation into war by not doing his due diligence 15 years ago.

No wonder he's taking 2 years to get it right this time instead of just listening to Maddow. It will be all the more heartbreaking for T when nothing comes of it. Woodward spent just as long looking for Russian collusion and didn't find any either.

6ix, what the hell are you talking about? Mueller already has sent people to jail. He hasn't sent Trump to jail because he never had the power. Only the Senate has that power, by removing Trump from office. Then Trump can go to jail for cheating on the inheritance taxes of his Father's estate, or laundering money for Russian mobsters, or paying women for adultery, or . . . . In retirement Trump will be in court for years defending himself. Because he is old and fat, he will probably die a free man long before he runs out of appeals to stay out of jail, unlike Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, who is on trial in Manhattan today.

Mueller mentioned his responsibilities in that video. For one thing, Mueller's responsibility as head of the FBI was to track terrorists, but only the ones inside America, the ones who had WMDs hidden in their cars rented at the airport when they flew in from Baghdad with the WMDs. Those are the WMDs that Colin Powell said existed. But if Powell was lying then Powell was wasting Mueller's time defending America from nonexistent WMDs.

Trump’s Exaggerated ‘Conflicts of Interest’ Claims

By Robert Farley, Lori Robertson and Eugene Kiely

Posted on December 7, 2018

In a flurry of tweets, President Donald Trump stretched the facts when he alleged that special counsel Robert Mueller and his staff have “many” conflicts of interests:

Trump falsely claimed that “the woman in charge of prosecuting [conservative author] Jerome Corsi” was “in charge of ‘legal’ at” the Clinton Foundation. Jeannie Rhee, a prosecutor on the Mueller team, worked as outside counsel on behalf of the Clinton Foundation on one case. She was not an employee of the foundation.
The president claimed that Mueller’s legal team — which he referred to as “17 Angry Democrats” — made “substantial & many contributions” to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Five team members — including one who has since left the investigation — gave a total of $8,800 to Clinton’s campaign.
Trump accused Mueller himself of “big time conflicts of interests.” But legal ethics experts we interviewed said the president’s arguments don’t hold up.

Trump made his accusations in a string of tweets on the morning of Dec. 7, the same day that Mueller was expected to file court papers in the Russia investigation regarding two of Trump’s former aides: former Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort and former Trump Organization Executive Vice President Michael Cohen.

Mueller’s office later detailed how Manafort allegedly violated the terms of his plea agreement. The government on Nov. 26 accused Manafort of “lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Special Counsel’s Office on a variety of subject matters.”

The special counsel’s office also filed a sentencing memo for Cohen, who has been cooperating with the government since pleading guilty on Aug. 21 to tax evasion charges related to his businesses and campaign finance violations related to the Trump campaign. (Cohen also pleaded guilty on Nov. 29 to lying to Congress about a real estate project that the Trump Organization pursued in 2015 and 2016, while Trump was running for president.)
Rhee Not ‘In Charge’ of Clinton Foundation’s Legal Department

In his first of five Mueller-related tweets in the span of an hour, Trump claimed that “the woman in charge of prosecuting Jerome Corsi” was “in charge of ‘legal’ at the corrupt Clinton Foundation.” Not exactly.

Jeannie Rhee, a prosecutor on the Mueller team, worked as outside counsel on behalf of the Clinton Foundation on one case, a lawsuit against the nonprofit in 2015. The lawsuit was dismissed. Rhee was never “in charge of ‘legal'” at the Clinton Foundation, and has never been an employee there.

Robert Mueller and Leakin’ Lyin’ James Comey are Best Friends, just one of many Mueller Conflicts of Interest. And bye the way, wasn’t the woman in charge of prosecuting Jerome Corsi (who I do not know) in charge of “legal” at the corrupt Clinton Foundation? A total Witch Hunt…

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 7, 2018

Corsi, a conservative author who was one of the chief proponents of the theory that Barack Obama was not born in the U.S., said he rejected a plea deal recently offered by the Mueller team on one count of perjury related to his previous comments about contact with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. According to drafts of court documents obtained by NBC News, Mueller’s team obtained an email from Corsi to former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone, written two months before WikiLeaks released emails stolen from the Clinton campaign, in which Corsi wrote, “Word is friend in embassy [Assange] plans 2 more dumps. One shortly after I’m back. 2nd in Oct. Impact planned to be very damaging.”

Corsi said he and his attorney met with prosecutors Jeannie Rhee, Aaron Zelinsky and Andrew Goldstein, who alleged that that email contradicted his previous testimony that he had no advance knowledge about the theft of the emails or their pending publication. Corsi denies this.

Rhee, a former deputy assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel under President Obama, was one of the partners from Mueller’s previous law firm, WilmerHale, brought on to the special counsel’s team from the outset.

That’s whom Trump is referring to when he tweeted, “the woman in charge of prosecuting Jerome Corsi.” Rhee’s name is one of several Mueller team members listed at the end of the statement of the offense and draft plea agreement presented to Corsi.

As we said, while employed at WilmerHale, Rhee and Jamie Gorelick represented the Clinton Foundation in 2015 in a lawsuit that claimed the Clinton Foundation operated as a racketeering enterprise shaking down donors in exchange for official favors. The lawsuit was dismissed.

A spokesman for the Clinton Foundation told us that while Rhee was retained as outside counsel for that one case, she has never been employed at the Clinton Foundation. At the time of the lawsuit, Scott Curran was the foundation’s general counsel. That position is now held by Amy Sandgrund-Fisher.

Interestingly, the WilmerHale attorney working with Rhee in the 2015 lawsuit against the Clinton Foundation, Jamie Gorelick –a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton — represented Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Trump Exaggerates Political Donations

Trump also exaggerated in claiming there were “substantial & many contributions made by the 17 Angry Democrats” to Clinton.

…..overturned, 9-0, in the United States Supreme Court. Doing same thing to people now. Will all of the substantial & many contributions made by the 17 Angry Democrats to the Campaign of Crooked Hillary be listed in top of Report. Will the people that worked for the Clinton….

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 7, 2018

There aren’t 17 Democrats on the special counsel’s team, or even 17 team members anymore — that’s an outdated figure. As CNN and the Hill reported in August and October, respectively, four members of the team left their positions in the special counsel’s office this year. Among the previous 17, there were 13 who had previously registered as Democrats, according to the Washington Post. Now, the figure is 10. (We previously asked the special counsel’s office about this, and spokesman Peter Carr told us the special counsel doesn’t maintain any records on party affiliation of the staff.)

Carr did confirm to FactCheck.org the names of the remaining 13 prosecutors on staff.

Seven of them have made federal political contributions. Four gave money to Clinton’s 2016 campaign: Jeannie Rhee, James Quarles, Rush Atkinson and Elizabeth Prelogar.

Whether those donations are “substantial & many” may be a matter of opinion, but two of the four who contributed to Clinton’s campaign gave $250 or less each, according to political contribution information available through the Center for Responsive Politics’ website.

Altogether, the four team members gave $8,550 to Clinton’s 2016 campaign. More than half of that came from Rhee.

Quarles, also a former WilmerHale partner who worked as a prosecutor on the Watergate investigation, gave $2,700 to Clinton’s campaign, but also contributed $2,500 to Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz in 2015 and $250 to Republican Sen. George Allen in 2005. Quarles has given more than $30,000 to Democrats over the years, dating back to at least 1996.

One other investigator, Andrew Weissmann, gave $2,300 to Clinton in 2007. And among the four prosecutors who are no longer working for the special counsel, one, Kyle Freeny, had given money to Clinton — a $250 donation in 2016.
Mueller’s ‘Big Time Conflicts of Interest’?

The president also accused Mueller of “big time conflicts of interests.” We asked the White House for a list of them, but did not get a response.

However, the president and his allies have leveled the accusation before. There are at least four alleged conflicts that Trump or his allies have cited, including three outlined in a New York Times story from January that was based on anonymous sources.

New York Times, Jan. 25: Amid the first wave of news media reports that Mr. Mueller was examining a possible obstruction case, the president began to argue that Mr. Mueller had three conflicts of interest that disqualified him from overseeing the investigation, two of the people said. First, he claimed that a dispute years ago over fees at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., had prompted Mr. Mueller, the F.B.I. director at the time, to resign his membership. The president also said Mr. Mueller could not be impartial because he had most recently worked for the law firm that previously represented the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Finally, the president said, Mr. Mueller had been interviewed to return as the F.B.I. director the day before he was appointed special counsel in May.

Let’s take them in order.

Golf course fees: A special counsel spokesman denied that there was any disagreement between Mueller and Trump over golf course membership fees. “Mr. Mueller left the club in October 2011 without dispute,” special counsel spokesman Joshua Stueve told the DailyMail.com in July 2017.

Mueller’s former law firm: It’s true that Mueller was a partner at WilmerHale, which says it has “1,000 lawyers located throughout 12 offices in the United States, Europe and Asia.” It is also true that another partner at the firm, Jamie Gorelick, represented the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as mentioned in the Times article. But the Justice Department has said that’s not a conflict of interest.

Shortly after Mueller was appointed special counsel, Justice Department ethics officials concluded it was “appropriate” for Mueller to lead the investigation even though his former law firm, WilmerHale, had represented Kushner, Manafort (Trump’s former campaign manager) and Trump’s daughter Ivanka.

“Government ethics regulations permit the Department of Justice to authorize an employee to participate in a matter where their former employer represents a party,” Justice spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said.

“While we cannot confirm or deny the applicability of the regulation to the matters to which Special Counsel Mueller was appointed, we can confirm that the Department ethics experts have reviewed the matters and determined that Mr. Mueller’s participation in the matters assigned to him is appropriate,” she added.

Flores noted that Mueller himself was not involved in representing Kushner, Manafort or Ivanka Trump. “Mr. Mueller is permitted to participate in matters involving his former firm’s clients so long as he has no confidential information about the client and did not participate in the representation,” she said.

Mueller’s interview for Trump’s FBI director: Trump raised this issue in remarks to reporters on Nov. 7. “They all have conflicts over there that are beyond anything that anybody has ever seen in terms of conflicts — from the fact that people ask for jobs; from the fact that they have very good friends on the other side, like really good friends, like Comey.”

Trump’s statement about “the fact that people ask for jobs” appeared to be a reference to a report that Mueller and Trump spoke about the FBI’s top job after Comey was fired. The Daily Caller reported on June 13, 2017, that Trump interviewed Mueller, citing an unnamed senior administration official.

“That claim is patently ridiculous,” Stephen Gillers, an ethics expert at New York University School of Law, told us via email. “Perhaps Trump is saying that Mueller is so angry about not getting the job that he is unable to act professionally as special counsel but will instead use his powers unlawfully to ‘get even.’ (The ‘golf club dues’ argument would seem to be the same.) There is no evidentiary basis for such a theory. The mere fact of an unsuccessful application by itself means nothing.”

In addition to the three alleged conflicts cited in the Times’ article, Trump also has claimed Mueller is conflicted because of his prior relationship with Comey, calling the two men “best friends” in August and again in his Dec. 7 tweet.

The fact is that the two men have known each other professionally since at least 2003, according to the Washingtonian‘s 2013 profile of the two men’s relationship. Mueller became President George W. Bush’s FBI director on Sept. 4, 2001, and Comey, two years later, became deputy attorney general in Bush’s Justice Department on Dec. 11, 2003.

The fact that they have a prior work relationship, however, is not unusual and does not necessarily pose a conflict. Richard Painter, a professor of law at the University of Minnesota and chief White House ethics lawyer for President George W. Bush from 2005 to 2007, called Trump’s claim “absurd.”

“Of course you are going to have people who know each other,” Painter told us in a phone interview. “Comey is not a subject of the investigation, he’s a witness.”

“The ‘friends’ issue has been floating around for a while without much clarity on what people mean by that word,” Gillers said. “For there to be even the possibility — and I stress possibility — of a conflict based on friendship, they would have to be very close (“like a brother”) AND Comey would have to be at real personal risk in the Mueller investigation. Neither of these is true so far as I can tell.”

"I Know Where All The Bodies Are Buried": Clinton Foundation CFO Spills Beans To Investigators

... Clinton Foundation CFO Andrew Kessel made the admissions to investigators from MDA Analytics LLC - a firm run by "accomplished ex-federal criminal investigators," who have been probing the Clinton Foundation for some time.

Kessel told MDA "There is no controlling Bill Clinton. He does whatever he wants and runs up incredible expenses with foundation funds", according to MDA's account of the interview. "Bill Clinton mixes and matches his personal business with that of the foundation. Many people within the foundation have tried to caution him about this but he does not listen, and there really is no talking to him."

MDA compiled Kessel's statements, as well as over 6,000 pages of evidence from a whistleblower they had been working with separately, which they secretly filed with the FBI and IRS over a year ago. MDA has alleged that the Clinton Foundation engaged in illegal activities, and may owe millions in unpaid taxes and penalties.

In addition to the IRS, the firm’s partners have had contact with prosecutors in the main Justice Department in Washington and FBI agents in Little Rock, Ark. And last week, a federal prosecutor suddenly asked for documents from their private investigation.

... Meanwhile, the Clinton Foundation has been under investigation by the IRS since July, 2016 according to a January report by the Dallas Observer - after 64 GOP members of congress received letters urging them to push for an investigation. The investigation is being handled by their Dallas office - far away from Washington insiders.

...MDA was specifically created to investigate 501c3 charities, and researched the Clinton Foundation at its own expense in the hope that the whistleblower submission they compiled might result in a government reward if the IRS was able to corroborate wrongdoing and recover tax dollars.

Ordinary prosecutors will NOT go to trial unless they can convince themselves that the Clintons are guilty.

What Trump needs is a new class of prosecutors, call them Super-Clinton-Prosecutors, who don't care about guilt or evidence, prosecutors who will immediately go to trial based only on what Signym and Trump want. Or maybe go to trial on a whim? Or a hunch? Or a hope?

Yeah, just like Mueller! Who started investigating on a wing and a prayer and a jacked-up warrant based on a fabricated "dossier".

A "wing and a prayer" does not truthfully describe Mueller’s mission, Signym. You know the history of the following document. Is there a similar document for the Clintons? Because until there is, I don't think Trump can command prosecutors to be prosecuting the Clintons.

www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/967231/download
ORDER NO. 3915-2017
APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL
TO INVESTIGATE RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE WITH THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND RELATED MATTERS

By virtue of the authority vested in me as Acting Attorney General, including 28 U.S.C. §§ 509,510, and 515, in order to discharge my responsibility to provide supervision and management of the Department of Justice, and to ensure a full and thorough investigation of the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, I hereby order as follows:

(a) Robert S. Mueller III is appointed to serve as Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice.

(b) The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James B. Comey in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:
(i) any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and
(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and
(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).

(c) If the Special Counsel believes it is necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters.

(d) Sections 600.4 through 600.10 of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations are applicable to the Special Counsel.

Rod J. Rosenstein
Acting Attorney General

There is absolutely no evidence of "collusion" (or to put it in real legal terms, "conspiracy") between the Trump campaign and Russia in order to throw the election. Absolutely nothing. Mueller is now trying to scare up some sort of connection between peripheral Trump campaign members (Stone and Corsi) and Assange, and between Assange and Russia, which is his last Hail Mary at linking anything to anything and it will prove to be a dry hole.

Everything else that he's scared up is just his attempt to pressure people over peripheral matters.

There IS, however, very real evidence that Hillary Clinton ran a private server which handled policy matters, and then deleted the emails that SHE said were "private" ... AFTER she was subpoenaed for them. And that the FBI did everything in its power to botch the investigation and put copies of those emails permanently out of reach. Also, very real evidence that Hillary had even MORE connections to "Russia" than Trump (Uranium One).

Stick with important facts, SECOND, and stop confusing yourself.

OH DEAR!!!

"INTERACTIONS!"

Do you have any idea how meaningless that is?

Since when are "interactions" illegal?

Every "interaction" that I've been aware of has either been (1) part of the normal transition process, or (2) completely divorced from the campaign or (3) exaggerated beyond any meaningful connection (A Trump "associate" met with someone who was reputed to have contacts with someone who was reputed to have contacts with the Kremlin). It's bullshit, SECOND. Even the article that you linked said it was bullshit:

Quote:

he has not yet shown that any of the dozens of interactions between people in Trump’s orbit and Russians resulted in any specific coordination between his presidential campaign and Russia.

And they probably never will.

But you, WaPo, NYT, CNN and MSNBC have been spewing bullshit since whenever. And the more and more that "they" flog this crap into the air, the more and more I think that there's no "there" there. If/when Mueller comes up with something MEANINGFUL, let me know.

Signym, does "meaningful" plus "interactions" include Trump taking money from Russian mobsters?

An entire book has been written from publicly available information about the hundreds of millions of dollars Trump has laundered for Russians. No GOP Senators are interested, none have read the book, so it’s probably only a mid-level item for Mueller’s checklist of things to do before Trump shuts down the Special Counsel. Maybe you would be interested?

This book tells the story of one of the greatest intelligence operations in history, an undertaking decades in the making, through which the Russian Mafia and Russian intelligence operatives successfully targeted, compromised, and implanted either a willfully ignorant or an inexplicably unaware Russian asset in the White House as the most powerful man on earth.

WHAT does this have to do with the Mueller "investigation"? I thought that he was supposed to be investigating Russian attempts to subvert our vote and possible conspiracy between Trump and the Kremlin in order for Trump to win the vote?

If you were in high-end real estate in NYC when the mobsters took over Russia (at our instigation) you would have probably dealt with some laundered money. Mobsters often bought real estate thru LLCs and other shell companies. It's like the London (Saudi) and Vancouver/ Sydney (Chinese) real estate markets now. Not nice, not ethical, and possibly illegal ... but nothing to do with conspiracy.

Just so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle: This is what Mueller's investigation reminds me of

*****

I can see Mueller using "process" crimes and unrelated charges to squeeze people for information. I'm not sure how ethical that is .... there's a difference between "building a case" and concocting one whole cloth ... but I'll leave it to the legal experts to tell me whether or not he's crossed any ethical lines.

But when he goes off trying to connect Corsi and Stone to Assange and then Assange to Russia ... or the M$M flings poop into the air to make things seem like more than they are ... well, that sounds like an investigation imploding to me.

It's pointless to continue because there's nothing to discuss. When/if there's something to discuss, I'll continue.

Signym, you would not to do well as a lawyer because you keep narrowing down Mueller's authorization to what you and Trump "feel" it should be rather than what Rod J. Rosenstein, Acting Attorney General, authorized. Because Rosenstein is in charge today, he can do as he wants without asking for Signym's or Trump's permission to expand the investigation.

Rosenstein authorized on May 17, 2017: "to ensure a full and thorough investigation of the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, I hereby order as follows:

(a) Robert S. Mueller III is appointed to serve as Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice.

(b) The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James B. Comey in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, including:

www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/967231/download

To repeat for Signym and Trump: Rosenstein can do as he goddamn well pleases without asking for more authorization from the suspect, Trump, he and Mueller are investigating. What keeps Rosenstein from harassing poor, innocent Trump? Rosenstein could be prosecuted by the Justice Dept, same as Citizen Trump, if Rosenstein goes to excess.

Now they all seem to swoon at the feet of anyone whoever killed a gook/towelhead in an unjustified foreign war.

Right, SHINY? Let's kill some foreigners for no reason whatsoever? That'll make us heroes?

But, in addition, Mueller (and Comey), under public pressure, once pinned an innocent man (Hatfill) with the anthrax letters.

That was ANOTHER investigation for which there was NO EVIDENCE TO CONVICT ...

Quote:

In truth, Hatfill was an implausible suspect from the outset. He was a virologist who never handled anthrax, which is a bacterium. (Ivins, by contrast, shared ownership of anthrax patents, was diagnosed as having paranoid personality disorder, and had a habit of stalking and threatening people with anonymous letters – including the woman who provided the long-ignored tip to the FBI).

So what evidence did the FBI have against Hatfill? There was none, so the agency did a Hail Mary, importing two bloodhounds from California whose handlers claimed could sniff the scent of the killer on the anthrax-tainted letters. These dogs were shown to Hatfill, who promptly petted them. When the dogs responded favorably, their handlers told the FBI that they’d “alerted” on Hatfill and that he must be the killer.

You’d think that any good FBI agent would have kicked these quacks in the fanny and found their dogs a good home. Or at least checked news accounts of criminal cases in California where these same dogs had been used against defendants who’d been convicted -- and later exonerated. As Pulitzer Prize-winning Los Angeles Times investigative reporter David Willman detailed in his authoritative book on the case, a California judge who’d tossed out a murder conviction based on these sketchy canines called the prosecution’s dog handler “as biased as any witness that this court has ever seen.”

Instead, Mueller, who micromanaged the anthrax case and fell in love with the dubious dog evidence, personally assured Ashcroft and presumably George W. Bush that in Steven Hatfill the bureau had its man. Comey, in turn, was asked by a skeptical Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz if Hatfill was another Richard Jewell – the security guard wrongly accused of the Atlanta Olympics bombing. Comey replied that he was “absolutely certain” they weren’t making a mistake.

Such certitude seems to be Comey’s default position in his professional life. Mueller didn’t exactly distinguish himself with contrition, either. In 2008, after Ivins committed suicide as he was about to be apprehended for his crimes, and the Justice Department had formally exonerated Hatfill – and paid him $5.82 million in a legal settlement – Mueller could not be bothered to walk across the street to attend the press conference announcing the case’s resolution. When reporters did ask him about it, Mueller was graceless. “I do not apologize for any aspect of the investigation,” he said, adding that it would be erroneous “to say there were mistakes

But that's what happens when you approach an investigation looking for evidence of guilt, instead of looking for the truth.

Hello, I represent sig kiki jsf and jacks bullshit. My appearance matches my remarks. That's because I am a troll. However, as Trump has said, don't believe what you see, believe what I tell you. So ,you should forget the facts that continue to show me as I am, and believe me instead.

What do you say? If you put something into my cup you will go home to find a brand new car in your driveway.

If the Mueller report turns Trump into the moral equivalent of a Jap baby in Hiroshima, the public would be willing to nuke him.

More and more Americans question the Hiroshima bombing. But would they do it again? Maybe.

In the first Gallup poll from 1945 just after the bombings, a huge 85 percent of Americans approved the bombings. However, figures from 2005 show a significant decline to 57 percent. Meanwhile, another poll conducted by the Detroit Free Press in the United States and Japan in 1991 found that 63 percent of Americans thought that the bombings were justified in a bid to end the war, while just 29 percent of Japanese did. Probably just 29 percent of Republicans will think bombing Trump is justified.

One day in the summer of 1969, a young Marine lieutenant named Bob Mueller arrived in Hawaii for a rendezvous with his wife, Ann. She was flying in from the East Coast with the couple’s infant daughter, Cynthia, a child Mueller had never met. Mueller had taken a plane from Vietnam.

After nine months at war, he was finally due for a few short days of R&R outside the battle zone. Mueller had seen intense combat since he last said goodbye to his wife. He’d received the Bronze Star with a distinction for valor for his actions in one battle, and he’d been airlifted out of the jungle during another firefight after being shot in the thigh. He and Ann had spoken only twice since he’d left for South Vietnam.

Despite all that, Mueller confessed to her in Hawaii that he was thinking of extending his deployment for another six months, and maybe even making a career in the Marines.

Ann was understandably ill at ease about the prospect. But as it turned out, she wouldn’t be a Marine wife for much longer. It was standard practice for Marines to be rotated out of combat, and later that year Mueller found himself assigned to a desk job at Marine headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. There he discovered something about himself: “I didn’t relish the US Marine Corps absent combat.”

More at www.wired.com/story/robert-mueller-vietnam/

The way Trump shoots his mouth off about Mueller is much the same as the Viet Cong shooting at Mueller. He will shoot back accurately and in cold blood. Unlike Trump, Mueller won't miss.

Here’s an idea, let’s all read it together and see if you answered, “why did they lie?”

“Because it can be made to look bad to stupid people like you? Because our politics is in permanent "silly season" because of people like you? “

They lied because the msm can make them look bad? Hippo sh@t much?

Why did they lie? Come on smartie, too hard? Why can’t you answer that?

How the hell would I know why they lied? How the hell would YOU???

Motives are a hard thing to pin down. Remember the endless arguments about whether George Bush was a liar or just really really stupid? People quite often don't even know THEIR OWN motives.

One possible motive is that because idiots were making such a big fuss about RUSSIA!!!!, people were eager to minimize ANY connection with Russia, no matter how innocent or irrelevant or normal. I've said quite often, for example, that Flynn's REAL big problem was explaining the half-million dollars that Turkey gave to a company that he was working for; plus the discussions that he had about kidnapping Gulen from PA to Turkey. If Flynn was working as an "unregistered foreign agent" for ANY nation, it was Turkey. That itself could have been the leverage that caused him to plead guilty to the relatively minor "process crime" of lying that he (*gasp!!*) spoke to a Russian!.

Those "negotiations" for Trump hotel in Moscow?? Cohen had SUCH an "in" with the Kremlin he had to email to a general email address that anyone could pull off the internet???

If you look in detail at all of these contacts, they seem to evaporate into ... nothing that had any effect on the election.

Here's a question G. Why isn't their lying a problem for Sig? Or for any of her cronies for that matter. Years of feigned outrage against others for lesser offenses and yet nothing now.

I keep saying this now to the point of it being superfluous, but we know the reason. Sig is a troll. And so are her cronies.
