Don't Expect Mueller to Charge a Grand Conspiracy

As America anxiously awaits special counsel Robert Mueller’s so-called “final report” and proof of “collusion,” it should be wary of two truths: Mueller may never write a full “final report,” and any bombshells he reveals are unlikely to outline a grand conspiracy. This will not be a failure of the investigation but rather of our own expectations.

Federal prosecutors aren’t historians or journalists. They don’t craft narratives. (And they almost never write reports.) They investigate potential violations of federal law. Although those investigations can be wide-ranging, charges are usually written narrowly—and for a good reason. It is not easy to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

You haven't been paying attention. I think Trump and others are going down hard. I just posted a different perspective is all. While it's entirely possible that perspective is right, I'm betting it's not.

The way I think this is going is that the FBI tried cooking up "evidence" against Trump and entrapping some of Trump's campaign people, but knowing that any "evidence" resulting from a bad FISA warrant would be fruit of the poisonous tree, Mueller has been taking another tack: Charging Trump associates with unrelated crimes and "process" crimes and shaking them down for whatever he can get them to admit to (or fabricate).

I think Trump has some very damaging information in his back pocket, which he will save in order to defend his son or his business interests - not anything to do with "collusion" or conspiracy because that will fizzle on its own.

I think it's a shame that he'll refrain from exposing the swamp ... which needs serious drainage ... for personal reasons. Maybe Trump will prove me wrong and make a bold move, but so far he's played it very conservatively and kept whatever ammunition he has to himself.

Mystery Sealed Document In Cohen Case Placed In Vault In Federal Court

A mysterious sealed document in Michael Cohen’s criminal case was referenced in the online court docket in federal court Wednesday.

The docket entry notes only that the sealed document was “placed in vault” with the Southern District of New York in Manhattan. There is no information on what type of document it is, or even the word count. It’s not even clear if it’s just a clerical note referencing an action involving a previously sealed document, or a new document being filed in the case.

I don't want to hear any nonsense about how it's not a threat; leaving the bullseye in is still threatening, and he easily could've gotten the same image without the added bullseye by doing a google image search. Additionally, it's clearly part of a Russian propaganda effort. What a dumb ass.

Judge was anti-prosecution from the onset, many red flags.

The lawyer saying "No Collusion" outside afterwards... what in the hell does this conman have over all of these people's heads??? I can't imagine how there can be this many weak individuals in such high offices.

FWIW: I'd be a terrible Judge and I'm not much better as an interested spectator. As much as I think punishment is deserved, I am no advocate for throwing people in jail as a solution. Nobody wins. Life becomes pretty much meaningless in jail. How many humans just counting time in US jails? 2.3 million? Such a waste.

Anyway... I couldn't help but notice a drawing from the courtroom showing Manafort in a wheelchair with a cane. Ummmm....

Well... says you. Prison labor is big business.

Why pay Americans to work when you can outsource it to India for 1/5th of the price, you say?

Well why ship the work to India and piss off people calling customer service with hard to understand accents when we can pay people who speak "'merican!" working right out of our prison systems for pennies on the dollar?

I keep hoping that scene from Marc Maron's show will end up on YouTube, but until it does, here's something not nearly as funny to illustrate the point.

Yeah, remember him rushing from here to there just a month ago. Any who, Mueller took millions from him as well. So many the Russia investigation is making a profit.

He got his. Still it sends a message white collar crime pays well so it's worth risking a few years in jail.

The way they keep saying no collusion will come back to haunt them in a major way if Trump or any of his family are charged with conspiracy. What's left for them to say then besides opps? Wait wait I know. Never mind...

Really... who cares?

You have given those with an agenda carte blanche to do whatever they wanted to, investigate anybody in the world they wanted to, all based off of a fake dossier created and paid for by the Jeb Bush campaign that was passed through a FISA rubber stamping court, all for more than two years now.

They have turned up zero Russian collusion.

ZERO.

The best we've seen is 4 years with time served for Manafort, for completely unrelated charges 10 years before the Trump campaign, and Roger Stone, who we all know is corrupt as hell is still a free man.

You've got NOTHIN', bud. Not a goddamned thing.

Of course you can't keep up with it. That's the whole point behind the investigation after it was realized that it was a partisan hit job based off of the falsified Steele Dossier that got rubber stamped in a FISA court.

Given such a gigantic net the likes that our government has ever seen, of course there were going to be plenty of crimes found. I'm always talking about the first rule of being in politics or high up in the bureaucracy is that you're corrupt as fuck, no matter which side you're on.

What you've failed to recognize is that not one single thing that has happened, not one single person who has been indited, not one single criminal offense putting these idiots behind bars has been linked to Trump, has been linked to Russia, and/or has even occurred in the last decade.

He hasn't built the wall or saved the economy, but at least a lot of the swamp is being drained.

Keep freaking out about all of this at the expense of your own health if you want to. I just hope none of you guys hurt yourselves when it's all said and done and nothing happens to Trump and you have to deal with him being your President until 2024.

lol...

Sure. Laws were broken. People are going to jail. It always puts a smile on my face when a politician or high level bureaucrat from either side finally gets theirs. I wish the Mueller investigation would become a permanent fixture and an agency of its own, one day stripped of its obvious political bias and become a watchdog against all politicians and bureaucrats and their illegal activities, of course.

Unfortunately, you don't know when you're being played, and they know that. The Mueller investigation has not done one single thing it initially set out to do. There is no Trump/Russia connection. Trump isn't going to be impeached. Trump is most likely going to win in 2020 and you've still got almost 6 more years of dealing with him.

The entirety of this investigation, and all the people who have gone down with it, are just covering up the fact that it was baseless in the first place, and it all stemmed from a falsified dossier that was procured by the Jeb Bush campaign before the primaries of 2016.

Like I said, I'm happy to see these crooks go down. But at the same time, you're just wasting more of your time and emotional and mental health if you keep holding out hope that it will ultimately result in the end of the Trump presidency.

Because it won't.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Short answer, Manafort gets more than 3½ additional years in prison. He will spend the next 7 1/2 years in jail. Add to that all the millions confiscated due to tax fraud. So much so Muellers investigation is still in the black.

Two years now and the investigation is proceeding. I could see why you are so stressed about it comrade. And to answer your question. At least 13 of your Russian comrades and 3 Russian state owned companies charged so far. They are after all, Russian Russian Russian.
