SECOND: I think the solution is Jefferson, Adams, and James Madison coming to 21st Century America.

Once they looked at our gargantuan military sprawled all over the world and sucking up half of the budget, the stranglehold that corporate money has on politics (and the overwhelming size and scope of corporations) and the two-party system which causes such a meaningless but sharp partisan divide, I think they would have a lot more to talk about than Trump. Some of the early Presidents were pretty intemperate people - hard-drinkin', hard figthin' men. One got shot in a duel and then killed the other duelist, remember? I doubt that Trump isn't anything they wouldn't have seen before.

If they were here in the 21st Century, Jefferson, Adams, and James Madison could easily fix the Constitution they wrote by revising it to take into account Duverger's law, which makes a two party system inevitable. All that Jefferson, Adams, and James Madison have to do is change the election rules. It is dead simple. And while they are at it, fix the rules limiting campaign donations.

Oh, also while the Founding Fathers are visiting the 21st Century, they can make the Constitution even more plainly clear that only Congress, never the President, not even because of a sneak attack in a nuclear war, can declare war.

Who is this Obama you speak of? Are you worried I am a hypocrite? I'll give you things to accuse me of being hypocritical about (I don't see the hypocrisy but I also don't have your overactive imagination nor your generalized hostility toward "inconsistency" in adults since I'm not a child anymore.):

1) I own guns but I am for strict gun control, even if it required giving up all my weapons.

2) I make my living by selling fossil fuel but I am for limiting greenhouse gases.

3) I've gone to war but I want to cut the Pentagon's budget to one tenth of what it is.

4) I won't watch any of the Democratic debates but I will vote for the Democrat.

5) I'm for higher taxes for the wealthy but I take all available tax breaks, even the ones that are unfair loopholes targeted for people like me.

6) I will miss Trump when he is gone but I won't vote for him. That actually is true for ALL Republican politicians. I'll miss them for all the wonderful things they have done for me but I won't vote for any of them.

lol

Nobody needs a pre-approved list of reasons why you're a hypocrite. We've already got thousands of reasons why when we take any of your posts and compare them to each other.

But while we're on the subject...

Quote:

1) I own guns but I am for strict gun control, even if it required giving up all my weapons.

That's not hypocrisy. That's virtue signalling. It's very easy to say that when you know that it's never going to happen.

Quote:

2) I make my living by selling fossil fuel but I am for limiting greenhouse gases.

Assuming you're not lying about what you do, which we all know you are, you make a killing selling fossil fuel, off the backs of the labor you exploit. And you seem to think that you should receive a get out of jail free card for being complicit while reaping large financial rewards providing a service that makes your personal carbon footprint hundreds of thousands of times larger than the average citizen because you "feel bad" about it.

No dice.

Quote:

3) I've gone to war but I want to cut the Pentagon's budget to one tenth of what it is.

Are you sure that's wise? You and the Democrats in 2020 seem to love war.

Quote:

4) I won't watch any of the Democratic debates but I will vote for the Democrat.

Because you're a party line idiot that doesn't let facts get in the way of pushing that button that saves you 90 seconds to vote down party line instead of for individual candidates. We know, we know...

Quote:

5) I'm for higher taxes for the wealthy but I take all available tax breaks, even the ones that are unfair loopholes targeted for people like me.

More virtue signalling, based off of the lie of who you think we believe you are.

Quote:

6) I will miss Trump when he is gone but I won't vote for him. That actually is true for ALL Republican politicians. I'll miss them for all the wonderful things they have done for me but I won't vote for any of them.

Annnnnnnnd... even more virtue signalling.

Hmmmmmm...

It seems like this character you've created for yourself is quite conflicted. Everything he has he owes to evil Republicans, yet despite his guilt he does nothing good with that ill-earned money, he is complicit in his large role in destroying the environment that Greta Thunburg and her children will have to deal with long after he's dead and he secretly loves his guns though he tells everyone that they shouldn't have them. He has somehow convinced himself that he's a good person simply by taking 5 minutes out of his day every 2 to 4 years to vote straight Democrat and now despite all of the horrible things he has done and continues to do he can actually sleep at night knowing what a monster he is.

Cool man. Screw Hollywood, "Second" is the best villain since Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor. You should write a screenplay instead of spending all day here in RWED.

Trust me WISH! I know her stupid gimmicks! The ones she thinks are so clever - lol. From her first post challenging what I posted I knew she'd just act stupid and agitate. Et viola! I like to throw it back at her until she breaks: "Anyway, I won't reply to this anymore..." whaaa, poor baby! I will continue to follow up, sometimes even with another one of her old, weak-ass tactics: The Constant Irritant. It's one of KIKI's standards and I'm sure you'll recognize it. Pretty sure she uses it a lot because even on her best day she can't think her way out of a paper bag. Keep watching.

And worse than that, The Problem was
Quote:

designed into the Constitution
So The Problem really isn't Trump, and it's not Congress, it's the Founding Fathers and the Constitution???

Jeez, SECONDRATE, you sound unhinged. You can't figure out if the target of your rage is Texas Republicans, or Republicans, or Congress, or Trump, or Americans in general, or the Constitution! You're flailing around in all directions because you can't figure out who to be mad at, you're just mad because you didn't get your way (whatever that "way" is)? Yanno, you and the rest of the liberaloids here have been such assholes, it would be a pleasure to have Trump re-elected, just to watch your heads explode online all over again.

SIX: He's not unhinged. He just has zero moral compass or any core beliefs from which his other beliefs are derived. He wanders aimlessly from thread to thread, changing his belief to fit whatever narrative of whatever argument he's getting into that second, completely disregarding what he's said not only in the distant past, but 15 minutes ago. Oh wait... "unhinged" kind of perfectly sums that up, doesn't it? Clinging to nothing, Second is like a fart in the wind.

Unlike some of our delusional compatriots on the board who're mesmerized by a fixed delusion/idea (JO, REAVERBOT, SHINY), what SECOND suffers from is worse than a delusion, he suffers from disordered thinking. His opinions, targets, and "ethics" (such as they are) are driven by some deep emotional need, and he will twist and turn the narrative playing in his head, no matter how self-contradictory, to satisfy that need.

Now, if I were playing armchair psychologist (which of coure I'm not

I would say that SECOND is twisting around to place the blame for some deep-seated guilt on someone else ... ANYone else ... for some unforgiveable transgression. That is why the "target" is ever-changing ... it doesn't really matter (to SECOND) WHO the 'guilty" party is, as long as it's not him.

Yanno, I used to think that SECOND felt guilt for breaking with his faith and community when he volunteered for Vietnam, but I think that his guilt is both more complex and more recent than that. Having broken with his faith and community, he stumbled on a path to Easy Street, and instead of being punished he's been rewarded by a system for being a sociopath, and now he wants to make everyone else pay for making that possible. Consider his dilemma: Having been raised in a moral code far stricter than ours, he slid wildly sideways and wound up being rewarded (not punished) for everything he was taught was wrong! And now being trapped by the rewards of a sociopathic system that he can't give up (because, hey, who could give up a multi-million-dollar reward?) he is desperately trying to square that circle of reward and virtue. Maybe, finally, SECOND has stumbled on to The Secret why men of virtue and industry (in some past post SECOND acknowledged that you are his superior, SIX) are buried while men of avarice are rewarded.

*****

SECOND: a system that rewards avarice and not productivity is doomed to fail. It's a matter of physics (energy flows, something that a ChemE would appreciate): A system overtaken by parasites can't be sustained. If the human species can't rid itself of human parasites and learn to live sustainably, then it will molder in the realm of semi-successful species.

How about NOT torpedoing her? yanno, telling google et al not to put a thumb on the scale, including her in debates, giving her more than 1% of debate time, etc? Evening the playing field instead of giving her an uphill battle? I understand that - as propagandized as Dems are these days- that Gabbard isn't everyone's cup of tea. I don't have any indications that Klobuchar or Yang or Harris or any of them are being deliberately squashed. I DO have evidence that Gabbard was being squashed. (Feel free to look it up, just don't use Google since Google suspended Gabbard's ad campaign and Gabbard has filed a lawsuit against them.)

The media and tech giants are anything but objective. They have run giant smear campaigns, just look at the RUSSIAN COLLUSION! campaign in which they ran "stories" that they knew were false. I mean, I can point to any number of instances where the media and tech giants landed, hard, on the wrong side of truth including the Covington student incident.

The tech giants should stop controlling content, OR they should be counted as PUBLISHERS (not platforms) with all of the attached liabilities (like, among other things, being sued for defamation)

The M$M should step up and provide equal access to campaigners ... it's in their broadcast license, for god's sake. They got the bandwidth because it serves the public good. So the FCC should make them serve the public good. (among other things, a level access to "the media" would eliminate SOME of the importance of campaign contributions and reduce the role of money in elections since most of that money goes to buying advertising time)

You can't argue that any of the platforms/broadcasters have ever been responsible news outlets - in fact, you've often argued the opposite, that they're all money-driven.

In any case, I don't have any indication that other candidates are being squashed, but if they were, I wouldn't be surprised. They shouldn't be. Media needs to be more truthful and less biased, as should the DNC.

Yeah... They REALLY didn't like Gabbard for some reason. I don't remember Hillary coming out on Twitter to trash talk any of the others up on the debate stages.

The more I got to know about her, the more I'm okay with that though. I liked quite a bit of what she had to say, but she's still a little too far to the extreme left for my tastes.

I'm probably voting for Biden in the primary. In the extremely unlikely scenario that Trump doesn't get re-elected, I'd rather have more of what we've come to expect from the Democrats instead of wacko Commie Marxists ruining the country.

Yanno, you should wonder why it is that the Dems failed in 2016. Maybe they should have run a more viable candidate, instead of themselves putting such a heavy thumb on the scale that a loser like Hillary would become the standard-bearer.

CC: But why her? Why not any of the others that aren't in the top 4?

Maybe if I repeat myself, you'll "get it" this time ...

BS. Sour grapes or what-ifs or wouldn't-it-be-greats. She got boatloads of free press for "fighting the evil media and elites and giant digital corporation monsters" than she cold have ever paid for. It's called, "how you run a campaign when you have no money." Play the victim. "Poor Tulsi!"

Wake up or be honest and quit pretending.

The DNC IS being totally honest, btw. They don't have to make anything up. She's got no chance - why back someone with no chance? You still haven't answered that one, btw.
