I'm totally like the guy in McD's.

"How ARE you getting home??"

I don't have a lotta luck on the ground not getting hurt, I think launching myself in the air with a piece if polyester is an engraved invitation for the universe to screw me over.

I've always said, the last thing I want to think in life is "Ohhhh SHhhhit".
I do that enough as is...

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been super busy...building an outdoor shower, reupholstering cushions, rebuilding cabinets and taking out a propane fridge in our pop up.. Van life got a little small now that kiddo is full grown. She gets the van all to herself, if we ever get to go camping again...

We're just gonna take a tabletop ice maker and a cooler instead of a fridge.

I keep seeing that guy's legs getting caught in something and ... not good. I'd want something solid underneath me.

Same here. Furnace room, garage, closets (clothes to donate finally), pretty much every room is getting a thorough clean, the kind I have always threatened to do. Baking bread - English muffins were first and actually came out great. Sourdough is next. I've always wanted to try it but it's a bit of a pain, which is exactly why I want to try it - I enjoy the challenge. The best part is if it's hard to do and you fail it's ok.

Gardening is next - rather grow food than shop for it. Turns out lettuce is really easy to grow - who knew. If only there were cheese and sausage plants we'd be in business.

Van Life - I was reading something about that "In the time of Corona." I'm not sure how that would be. In some ways even better since you have the whole outdoors all around you to enjoy. On the other hand, food and food storage would be really tough. Having to go into a store once a week would get old fast.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Looks like fun! Altho I hear ya on that "getting legs tangled up in something"

I wonder where he lives. Sure is a lot of open space around there.

The thing I didn't know about lettuce is that if you get lazy and leave it there it keeps growing up and then you get seeds for next year on the top. I was surprised by that one. Like I said before, I've not the greenest thumb. I didn't really understand that roots don't LIKE oxygen, I always thought an aerated soil was the best (too much time watching people till the garden?? I dunno).

Don't think I got a thing to grow until I hit 30 and realized I had to squish the soil around the roots AND that water was what kept the soil from getting too hard. We had a garden when I was young but no one ever explained how it worked

If it don't stop freezing at night my two damn 'tomator plants may not make it this year...(Indiana adds an R in everything I noticed...warsh, Virgin-yer, potat-er).

I would go camping, except for the aforementioned FREEZING my ass off. Some states have closed campgrounds to all but those that live there (mom says they closed them near her in Texas) but I don't know I want to go anywhere where you don't know they are all open and not knowing what else is closed would be a pain. Plus, we practically live off Chinese when we travel, and none of them are open here, I don't know about everywhere else... God, I miss Chinese so much right now...
Might have to make some crab rangoon this weekend.

I have relatives in Colorado and Tennessee, but they aren't the "Hey, can I put a camper in your driveway for a couple days" kind of relatives...

The entire midwest looks like that. Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri...

When we drove to Iowa last year we went through at least 5 hours of mostly farmland. And blinking red windfarms for at least an hour of it...

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Someone I knew from Kansas once described it as "miles and miles of ... miles and miles".

I once drove from Grand Junction CO to Binghamton NY and it sure was hard keeping focus on those long long boring roads across the flatlands. I don't think of it as 'flyover' country in the sense that it's unimportant, but it sure is handier to fly over it than it is to drive through it if you're just trying to get from point A on one side to point B on the other.
