CC: O_o eh?
I said: "I'm sorry, but isn't the new you suppose to applaud Jo's free speech and his right to use it? Where's your new, "let's all get together and love one another?" Guess that was just a phase."

I agree, division = bad. I said Trump was the most divisive president we've ever seen, by design. So were you calling out Trump during the last 4 years for being divisive? So why now?

SIGNYM: The division was caused, at least in part, by the media and the deep state. They endlessly slagged him DURING his campaign, and endlessly - and unfairly- slagged him as "racist" for his border protection policies, then we heard how "unfair" the electoral college was and that we should change the Constitution, then we spent three-and-some years hearing that he was "Putin's puppet", a traitor, or worse and that he only won because of the Kremlin's help.

Then there were "leaks" from his office that he was unfit to be President. Then there was "quid pro quo" ... an allegation entirely unsupported by the transcript. There are at least a half-dozen other lies that were told about Trump in the media. I can't think of ANY President who was so repeatedly and unfairly and deliberately targeted for defamation while in office. On top of that, the media endlessly portrayed Trump supporters as idiots, racists, rubes, retards, or worse. It was all highly inflammatory. Nowhere was propaganda-free reporting to be found

By contrast, look at Obama. He did some really horrible shit to the American people, the military, and the world, but the media covered his ass and buried all of HIS offenses, plus he was a smooth talker.

Yanno, it IS possible to discuss Trump's POLICIES objectively. Focus on WHAT HE HAS DONE instead of what he tweeted or what people "said" about him. If we focused on WHAT PRESIDENTS HAVE DONE, and actually tried to determine the truth instead of burying ourselves into the hivemind, and applied that to Obama, and GWB, and Bill we wouldn't have been re-electing such a-holes.

I've tried to discuss Trump's policies many times (As you know, I didn't agree with all of them) and for my pains I was constantly slagged as a "Russian troll" simply because I wasn't hopping on-board with the relentless media narrative (lies).

You people ... the ones who carried on with that divisiveness ... YOU should be ashamed of yourselves for being so weak-minded and gullible, for behaving like a lynch mob and trying to hammer dissenting opinion into the ground.

And being driven by a dishonest media is no excuse.

And let's not forget Hillary calling half of the USA "deplorables", and the call to harass Trump supporters in public. WHO is causing the division, again?

She said "half" of Trump supporters fit into a "basket of deplorables," "the racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it," "while the other half are people who feel the government has let them down and need understanding and empathy."

The biggest problem in Clinton's statement is that she said "half" of Trump supporters are racists, xenophobes and otherwise bigots. Half means equal or near-equal parts. There's no data to support such a specific number.

I loved that quote from NPR "There's no data to support such a specific number." That made me laugh and think of slave-owning Confederates getting angry at the misrepresentations by abolitionists of Southern slave-owners' character. In Texas I have never run into a stone cold racist or even a half-ass racist (and there are plenty of both in Texas) who could admit they were racist. So it is humorously unsurprising that Trump voters can't recognize themselves when described by Hillary, but she was wrong. The number is not half; that's too small.

Listen to Trump Pressure Georgia Secretary of State to “Find 11,780 Votes”

In a phone call Saturday, the president issued threats warning of legal repercussions if Brad Raffensperger didn't do as he asked.

During the hourlong phone call Trump not only practically begged Raffensperger to act, he also issued vague threats, implying that failing to do his bidding could lead to criminal liability.

Raffensperger and his lawyer repeatedly told Trump that the count was accurate and that Biden did, in fact, win the state by 11,779 votes. Trump was having none of it and insisted that he knew he came out on top. “Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong,” Raffensperger said. The Post published a four-and-a-half minute cut of the audio that is worth listening to if for no other reason than to understand what a parallel universe the president is living in. It seems Trump has surrounded himself with conspiracy theorists who feed him false information that he then repeats as true without once providing any evidence to back his assertions. “There’s no way I lost Georgia,” Trump repeats over and over again in the call.

Even though Trump assures he won “by hundreds of thousands of votes” at one point he makes clear he doesn’t care about all that. “I just want to find 11,780 votes,” Trump said at one point. “Because we won the state.”
At another point of the call he seems to issue vague threats that Raffensperger and his lawyer, Ryan Germany, could face legal repercussions. “That’s a criminal offense,” he said. “And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer.” Throughout the call he appeals to Raffensperger as a Republican saying his refusal to do Trump’s bidding could end up hurting Republicans in the state in the crucial runoff election Tuesday that will decide which party controls the Senate. “You have a big election coming up and because of what you’ve done to the president—you know, the people of Georgia know that this was a scam,” Trump said. “Because of what you’ve done to the president, a lot of people aren’t going out to vote.”

I have to deal with Trump lovers all day at work. Not one of them has enough self-awareness to see that their problems can never be solved by changing the government to their liking because their problems are internal to their bodies and minds. Their crying need to takeover the government isn't nearly enough to ease their pain, especially when I can see how they sabotage their own lives constantly, unrelentingly, completely unconsciously. On the other hand, I know highly successful and rich people who voted for Trump. They aren't stupid. They fixed their minds and they correctly see the Republican Party as useful for them to accumulate wealth.

Are you asking if Trump has killed somebody with bare hands rather than talk them to death? No, but he has been executing people since the election because this is his last chance to kill. And as for actual murderers? Trump pardoned them.

In an unprecedented glut of judicial killing, the Trump administration rushed to put 10 prisoners to death.

Have you seen America's military in action? They are great at killing the wrong people but they lose war after war after war. Even fat stupid Trump knows it. If he'd gone to war, he would have lost, just like America's military has done again and again.

Why America Loses Every War It Starts

Most Americans rightly believe that the U.S. military is the best and most formidable in the world. If that is correct, why, since the end of World War II, has the United States lost every war it started and failed every time it used force without just cause? Indeed, if the U.S. military was a sports team, it would land in the bottom divisions.

History makes this case.

John F. Kennedy presided over the doomed Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961 and set in motion the Vietnam War. While many believe the Cuban Missile Crisis was a great victory, in fact, the Kennedy administration precipitated it with a massive defense buildup in 1961 that forced Soviet Leader Nikita Khrushchev to abandon his military reductions and place short-range nuclear missiles in Cuba to bypass American nuclear superiority.

Lyndon Johnson followed Kennedy into the Vietnam quagmire that led to over 58,000 dead Americans and possibly millions of Vietnamese based on the fallacious view that communism was monolithic and had to stopped there so it did not spread here. Burdened with Vietnam and a plan so secret it did not exist, it took Richard Nixon nearly five years to end that war. While his outreach to China was brilliant as was détente with Russia, Watergate destroyed his presidency.

Jimmy Carter was weak. The failed Desert One raid in 1980 to free 54 Americans held hostage in Tehran compounded the Vietnam malaise. While Ronald Reagan was seen to be tough, he did not bankrupt the Soviet Union in an arms race as it was the irrationality of the system and its brittleness that caused it’s fracturing. But he did send Marines into Beirut in 1983 and 241 died in the barracks bombing. At the same time, Reagan invaded Grenada in part to prevent the Soviets from building an air base and rescue American students at St. Georges Medical School. However, the airfield was being constructed by a British firm and had been part of a decades old plan to increase tourism. And the American commander in the field had told the White House that the students were in no danger.

Because in that light, Trump is a friggin' GENIUS compared to all of the other Presidents in the last 70 years.

Give Trump points for knowing his limitations. He couldn't run a war and he knows it, so he ignored his war powers. He couldn't handle Covid-19 and he knows it, so he ignores it, too.

Why, since the end of World War II, has the United States either lost every war it started or failed in every military intervention it prosecuted?

Harlan Ullman's new book answers this most disturbing question, a question Americans would never think of even asking because this record of failure has been largely hidden in plain sight or forgotten with the passage of time.

The most straightforward answer is that presidents and administrations have consistently failed to use sound strategic thinking and lacked sufficient knowledge or understanding of the circumstances prior to deciding whether or not to employ force.

Making this case is an in-depth analysis of the records of presidents from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama and Donald Trump in using force or starting wars. His recommended solutions begin with a "brains-based" approach to sound strategic thinking to address one of the major causes of failure ----the inexperience of too many of the nation's commanders-in-chief. Ullman reinforces his argument through the use of autobiographical vignettes that provide a human dimension and insight into the reasons for failure, in some cases making public previously unknown history.

I think it's deeper than that. I think Presidents are largely not in control of foreign policy. Look at Trump: He wanted to withdraw troops from the ME and the best he could do was reach a stalemate, with the military overpromising and underlings lying to him about troop strength. He wanted to negotiate with N Korea and was torpedoes by Bolt-on. He wanted to secure our borders but all he managed was a protracted struggle with globalist liberaloids.

I think the big problem is that foreign policy is NOT made by the CiC. And what YOU see as "failure" is prolly counted as "success". You think that destablizing the mideast and funding jihadists to run around and make trouble is a "failure"? I think that our "strategic thinkers" just decided to throw a stinkbomb in Russia's direction to keep them busy while we "pivoted" to the far east.

They use our soldiers like cannon fodder, or hostages. It's not about "winning wars", SECOND, and never has been.

Just watch: Biden* will continue to antagonize Russia because there's no downside, but I'll bet he'll cozy up to the Chinese because (1) that's where Big Tech wants to continue to make their $$ (Musk is making electric cars in China and selling them to India) and (2) China wants to stop making cheap shit for Walmart and move up the value-added chain, so they'll shed their chainsaws and mops and toilet paper mfr to Malaysia or Vietnam or Phillipines ... a win!win!... for everyone excpet Americans.

SECOND: Have you seen America's military in action? They are great at killing the wrong people but they lose war after war after war. Even fat stupid Trump knows it. If he'd gone to war, he would have lost, just like America's military has done again and again.

So, are you giving points to Trump for figuring out what seems to have evaded every other President, from Truman forward?

Because in that light, Trump is a friggin' GENIUS compared to all of the other Presidents in the last 70 years.

Regarding strategy, we must ask: “Why is it that, given the historical realities of the past seven decades, the United States and its presidents too often did so poorly? Why did they not make better strategic calculations in committing the nation to major military interventions?” Of course, the West won the Cold War. But that war never went hot. The wars that did go hot have plagued us the most. One reason is that in those cases brains and intellect were never fully applied, leading to misjudgments, mistakes, and misperceptions that ultimately created failure. Brains and intellect alone have been insufficient to inform and educate the elected leadership, to inculcate in its members a complete understanding of the grim fiscal realities and the current dangers to the U.S. military of uncontrolled internal cost growth.

Obviously, no sensible person would advocate rejecting the use of brains and intellect, especially not in the tortuous problems affecting vital national security issues. The key question is how best to apply brains and intellect. Too often, other factors have taken precedence: domestic political pressures, appointment of civilian officials to key positions whose success in winning elections was not matched by the ability to govern, ideological convictions, flawed assumptions, narrow bureaucratic or parochial interests, disregard of budget realities, the use of money as an alternative or palliative, normal human frailty, and intellectual laziness. All these have negated or overridden the need for a rigorous, relevant, and above all objective intellectual framework. Such a framework would be a “brains-based approach,” working from a mind-set appropriate for the twenty-first century.

For example, despite the experience of the senior members of George W. Bush’s cabinet, no one seriously asked or answered the “What next?” question about Iraq during the buildup to that war in 2002 and 2003. No one considered what needed to be done once Saddam had been dethroned.

The Obama administration was made to look impotent by drawing “red lines” against Bashar al-Assad’s conduct in Syria and demanding his ouster without the means or a plan to make good on that threat. Regardless of the arguments for or against a strategic pivot to Asia, the manner in which the strategy was announced scared allies and friends and provoked China. In any case, the situation in the Greater Middle East soon deteriorated, and the pivot was eclipsed by the need to “rebalance” forces to that theater.

Pre and Post Election polls aren't going to be right if they forgot to rig them as much as they rigged the actual election.

Anybody with half a brain knows that this means that they ended up having to pull a whole lot of unexpected 11th hour cheating since Trump did even better than they imagined he would. The original amount of cheating that they'd planned to fall within the margin of error of the original fake polls wasn't good enough.

He later derided immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador, and African countries, calling those foreign nations “shit hole countries.” He once said immigrants from Haiti all “have AIDS” and that Nigerian immigrants would never “go back to their huts.”

In Trump’s mind, a judge’s Mexican heritage made him incapable of ruling fairly in a civil fraud case against one of his companies, and he believes “laziness is a trait in blacks.” Trump, whose real estate company was sued for housing discrimination in the 1970s, went on to place a full-page ad in the New York Times calling for the execution of five innocent black teenagers. Even after the Central Park Five were exonerated, he refused to take it back.

"Until a neutral. academic. thorough. statistical. investigation is carried out" but but but you said: "And no matter how many times you count the ballots forwards, backwards, and sideways, it won't tell you if something was done with them before you officially tallied them." so how would CalTech/ MIT determine ballots "had something done to them" (!) from a statistical investigation? The central premise of this post is wrong. Trump has presided over at least two wars and lead another. One is the cyber war being waged against us by Russia, china and Iran to name three. He showed himself completely incapable of conducting a defense against it. In fact, his lack of interest in protecting America from it bordered on criminal.

Then there is the war being waged against us by the pandemic. Another war where Trump failed miserably. Again, his actions border on criminal. Hundreds of thousands of deaths that needn’t be.

Then there is the war he has been waging, and continues to wage, against democracy. He will lose, but the damage he has done these last four years is incalculable.

As for Americas war history. We put limitations on ourselves that others don't. Currently, there isn't a country on the planet that we could not march from one end to the other like a tsunami. Thank the stars Trump will be out of office before he figures that out.

Trump accused Biden of sending “our youth to fight these crazy endless wars.”

“I’m not saying the military’s in love with me. The soldiers are,” Trump said. “The top people in the Pentagon probably aren’t because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and make everything else stay happy.”

Trump, in December 2018, called U.S. defense spending levels “crazy,” but he’s also boasted that he’s responsible for $2.5 trillion in spending on military equipment.

Administration officials charged Trump with referring to fallen U.S. troops buried in France as “losers” and “suckers.” They also alleged the president questioned why any American would join the military, and demanded that wounded veterans be kept out of planned parades because “nobody wants to see that.”
