So how wacky can Trudeau's Canada Clownworld go?

For example let's imagine, let's say someone went crazy and started believing in Bigfoot or UFOs or 911 conspiracy, one of the friends of piratenews is depressed, took a lot of drugs a long time ago, feelingt mentally ill and feeling suicidal ... the Degenerate Babylon elite of Canada and Trudeau's 'progressives' or his regressive leftists can help you with that

Part of the "speed bump" that was supposed to be sacrosanct in the "right to die" movement was about "informed consent".

The idea was that a terminally ill person who had good pain control and who was not depressed could have a doctor hasten their death w/o the doctor getting in trouble.

But how in hell can a person who is depressed, mentally ill, or intellectuall impaired, make an informed decision???

The current Canadian government is sick, twisted, and anti-human.

Just imagine that the current lot of looney, brain dead PTB in media, social media, "News" shows are the arbiters of who is sane or not sane - if you have a clue, they label you insane, and if your brain is on another planet, they label you sane, and have you judge other poeple.

Is this more like Kafka? Or 1984? Or what?

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Just trying to unscramble the facts from the various linked stories:

Parsing through the stories, it looks like only people whose near-term death from a medical condition is 'reasonably foreseeable' will be allowed near-term assisted suicide. That used to exclude people with mental illness or depression, but now it includes them.

People whose ONLY condition is depression/ mental illness have a 2-year 'cooling off' period before assisted suicide.

People who only have a progressive neurological deterioration - presumably like Alzheimer's, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, fronto-temporal dementia, or perhaps even Parkinson's disease - will NOT be allowed assisted suicide.

It's a weird law change.

If you're THAT depressed, you're going to commit suicide, with or without a doctor's help and with or without a "cooling off" period. And if you have Alzheimer's or Parkinson's or fronto-temporal dementia or untreatable MS etc and you don't want to face that long, slow, painful decline, you can also commit suicide, all on your own. (There is a painless way to do it, without drugs or guns, but I'm not going to describe it here.)

The only reason to have "assisted suicide" is if the person is not physically capable of committing suicide on their own, but need ... uh ... assistance.

I read an interesting study done about ten years after Oregon adopted its "assisted suicide" law to see who took advantage of it. It turns out that it wasn't associated with intolerable pain or depression. According to them, people who chose that option had a HIGH degree of needing to feel independent and in control of what was going to happen. They hated the thought of debiliation worse than death.

At least, according to that study.
