Chef José Andrés calls on Coca-Cola to provide food, beverages to voters in Georgia

Washington, D.C., chef José Andrés on Saturday called on Coca-Cola to help provide food and beverages to Georgia voters in light of a newly passed law that makes it illegal for people to provide food or water to voters as they wait in lines to cast their ballots.

Mitch McConnell Reminded of Citizens United Backing After Warning to CEOs

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been reminded of his support of the Citizens United ruling after he warned big businesses to "stay out of politics" as they denounced a controversial new voting law in Georgia.

Issuing a statement on the voting law, McConnell said: "It's jaw-dropping to see powerful American institutions not just permit themselves to be bullied, but join in the bullying themselves."

A number of commentators reacted to the Republican leader's remarks by reminding him of his support for the Citizens United ruling that permitted corporations, unions and other outside groups to spend unlimited sums on elections.

Mid-Term Elections 2021

So, what is this about? I am not all that familiar with the details of Russian Elections.

The State Duma is currently in it's 7th Convocation, since 2016. And expiring this year, when a new Election (in 2021) will be held for the 8th Convocation - to last another 5 years.

President was last elected in 2018, his term to expire in 2024. He was only legally allowed to run for re-election once, which was 2018, I guess.

So, that would seem to mean that this year, in 2021, is the Mid-Terms for Russia Elections.

Now it all makes more sense.

As he reemerges onto the public stage, Pence sticks to the same strategy he used by Trump’s side: Total fealty

COLUMBIA, S.C. —When former vice president Mike Pence reemerged for his first post-White House appearance at a convention center chicken dinner here Thursday night, he did not mention how then-President Donald Trump's supporters marauded through the Capitol on Jan. 6, threatening to hang him. Or that the president attacked him on Twitter for lacking "courage" as the Secret Service rushed him to safety that day. Or the criticism Trump has leveled toward his former No. 2 in recent weeks.

In fact, as Pence met privately with about 400 pastors in the cavernous First Baptist Church downtown and traveled across South Carolina, hobnobbing with and fundraising for Christian groups and conservative candidates, he spoke with an almost reverence about the former president.

History is going to remember Pence as the man with the brown stain on his pants. Too funny…

Quote:

The special election lockout in Texas, coupled with retirement and redistricting news, highlighted just how hard 2022 will be for House Democrats.

Democrats have jumped to argue that the latest House special election outside Fort Worth, Texas — where none of their candidates managed to make the runoff — is no harbinger for next year’s midterms.

The party’s top candidate in that race fears otherwise.

“It's not a good omen. It's not a good portend for 2022 that we got shut out,” said Jana Lynne Sanchez, who failed to make the runoff by just 354 votes amid a split Democratic field and, more importantly, surprisingly low turnout. “I'm sounding the alarm bell today, and I'm saying we really have to work hard.”

By "work hard", I can only assume she means they need to double down.

You're an idiot dude.

Ending the filibuster is ONLY good for Democrats if they maintain a majority until the end of time.

Are you gullible? Or did you just forget to point out that the Warnock Senate Seat is good for 2 years?
Libtard Lies should not be automatically swallowed whole.

Why would I bother pointing that out? And why would you assume I ever swallow any of Ted's bullshit?

I don't think in two year or four year blocks.

Not Liberals. Leftists.

They view it as a way for them to cheat more, and they really believe if they pull this off they will be able to successfully cheat in every election from now until they destroy the country.

Because no sane person would ever want the power grab they're trying to make here fall into the other side's hands.

Not Republicans. NeoCons.

Good. Don't want 'em. Don't need 'em.

A new party for anti-Trump Republicans: Here's what we know so far

Frustrated by the direction their party has taken since Donald Trump was nominated for the presidency, a group of Republican leaders are pushing to "rededicate" the GOP around its founding ideals. The group, spearheaded by Republican and independent leaders, made their intention known on Thursday in a public declaration titled "A Call for American Renewal." More than 150 leaders of the party have joined.
