Every time this commercial comes on, I grit my teeth. And I finally figured out why. It's supposed to show people being lighthearted and spontaneous, and we're supposed to feel the glow and go along for the ride ... and accept that people are spontaneously doing this extremely rehearsed dancing, while being filmed by a full film crew that just happens to be there for that moment. Sure. Whatever.

I resent being jerked around by leeches trying to weasel my money.

I've seen that commercial. But with different subtitles, I didn't realize the ghetto lyrics.
Once upon a time, Country Music didn't need to have an Ebonics translation to get to understandable American English.

Saw more commercials using this same trick, which has been annoying for years.
These other commercials all seem to be trying to convince otherwise sensible folk to get the vax.

The song is kind of derivative of Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke

I'm sorry. I have not had a decent country radio I could listen to for the past 3 months.
I did not realize this was a runaway hit, and a viral dance craze.

The Album was released the4 first week of June. "Fancy Like" was the 2nd track.
On June 13, the video was made of the artist and his 15 year-old daughter (who choreographed the dance) doing the dance on the back porch of their house. You can see this in the Applebee's video, they start off the dancing portion. He then posted it on tiktok, and went for a jog. When return from his jog, he found that there were over 30,000 views. This went viral.
Tiktok decided to do a dance challenge of this, and over 300,000 submissions were created. From regular folk, doint their own thing all across the continent and the world.

The song points out that their family considers Applebee's to be fancy. It also specifies Wnedy's, Maybelline, Victoria's Secret, and Vespa. Those companies likely won't be able to have similar ads because Applebee's was the first to pay the artist for the song. It seems they also got the premium choices of which clips to use from the Challenge.

So this commercial actually seems to be the most real, realistic, reality, collection of amateur submitted clips on TV at this point.

At this point, it is actually charming.

Numerous stars also submitted their clips of this challenge.
One was pop artist Ke$ha, and Taylor Hayes has chosen her to join in a crossover version, so this can go mainstream and pop, instead of merely country.

Interesting that the person here who is always right, she claims to be all-knowing, while simultaneously always wrong and divorced from reality, is the person to call out this one true artifact in a sea of fake, as being fake.
