While I was cleaning up the front yard, a group of bicyclists ... four or so families, moms and dads and kids ... biked by, all wearing red white and blue, many with flags on their bicycles. A Fourth of July outing.
How fun!

Followed by two biker dudes on Harleys, one playing a nice country-western song, with bigger flags on THEIR bikes, as a kind of rearguard to keep the bicyclists from getting run over.
How cool!!

Followed by four pickup trucks, with even BIGGER flags waving from their tailgates.
How awesome!

And a big VOTE TRUMP flag on the second-last truck.

And they all passed by a billboard that said, "A vote for Trump is a vote for Putin!"

When the conversation gets around to loving America, you (try to) derail it by banging on about Russia.

Loser.
You hate America, too. Just like SECOND.

We did our usual "safe and sane" fireworks, but a lot of families get hold of 'works that explode in the sky (prolly from Mexico). Not professional quality but high up, large and pretty! Cops don't go after them unless there's an accident or they start a fire.

Daughter said "some of them sound as loud as the cannons in that music" (1812 Overture, which I love the ending, it's so celebratory with all of the "church bells" ringing and the cannons booming!)

So we explained, as we do most years, that the fireworks celebrate the battles that Americans waged against Britain. That they were fought not just with guns but with cannons and bombs. That fireworks, altho now decorative, recalls ".. And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air.. "

I was never much of a flag-waver, but my concern has ALWAYS been for America and Americans. And people like CAPON and SECOND, who clearly hate even the THOUGHT of America, have really made that pointedly clear to me.

Tell us with a straight face you weren't laughing then you typed that ^

Your concern for America is more like "I'm concerned America is going to kick Russia's ass!"
