Pennsylvania credit card debt is at an all-time high. Nearly 10% of accounts are delinquent. For many, credit cards serve as temporary supplemental income.

The number of beneficiaries of SNAP federal food benefits has grown 75% despite flat population growth in the Commonwealth. With unemployment at record lows, more Pennsylvanians than ever need help paying for groceries.

With homeownership out of reach, nearly nine renters compete for each available apartment unit throughout the state. Pennsylvania rental rates are growing faster than the national average, especially in tertiary markets like Scranton and Reading.

It is no surprise why Pennsylvania lottery jackpots and gaming revenues have never been higher. Our luck has to change somewhere, right?

Could the President build apartments so that there was at least one vacancy for every family? No. Presidents can't do that. At one time the military built living spaces for soldiers and their families, but the government stopped doing that because Congress didn't want to compete with local apartment owners who felt they deserved to get wealthy by taking all the soldiers' pay. Now Congress wants the pre-existing rich real estate owners to get even richer by limiting the construction of new real estate.

6ix, President Trump does NOT have the power to kill these people, or jail them (no jail space was built with money from Congress), or send them back to their origins without a trial (no money for more judges and trials from Congress), to keep down the population. At least not until Congress gives the President the power and money you think he has. Same with building new apartments. Congress has not given the President the power or the money to build new apartments. That is because the owners of old apartments do not want new apartments built.
