The South Koreans had the possibility of a money making brand, a cash cow... and now they trashed it, 'Squid Game' possibly worth hundreds of millions if not Billions.
They were sitting on mountains of cash and now it may be gone, is this a Jump the Shark moment like 'Lost' or Weeds, Glee, Scrubs, Bones, Seinfeld, Battlestar Galatcica the original jumped then possibly un-jumped with the reboot and jumped again, Walking Dead might not have had one single "Jump the Shark" but wore its audience down with zombie apocalypse trench warfare a show that would just never end.
As Hollywood started to fall other foreign studios began to rise with products like 'Squid Game'
It became part of pop culture and even Kamala Harris invoked "Squid Games" as an example of interesting foreign culture

Park Sung-hoon a South Korean actor is known for support roles and more recently playing villains...the show has become a parody of itself like 'The Boys'

and even the trannies are unhappy
