Foreigners and Americans alike have been hard-pressed to explain the ideology represented by some of Donald Trump’s initial Cabinet nominations, and for good reason. Although Trump won reelection as a Republican, there was nothing traditionally “Republican” about proposing Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence. Gabbard is a former progressive Democrat with lifelong ties to the Science of Identity Foundation, a Hare Krishna breakaway sect. Like Carlson, she is also an apologist for the brutal Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and for the recently deposed dictator of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, both of whose fantastical lies she has sometimes repeated. Nor is there anything “conservative” about Kash Patel, Trump’s nominee for FBI director, who has suggested that he intends to target a long list of current and former government officials, including many who served in the first Trump administration. In keeping with the spirit of the New Obscurantists, Patel has also promoted Warrior Essentials, a business selling antidotes both to COVID and to COVID vaccines. But then, no one who took seriously the philosophy of Edmund Burke or William F. Buckley Jr. would put a conspiracy theorist like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.—another Putin apologist, former Democrat (indeed, from the most famous Democratic family in America), and enemy of vaccines, as well as fluoride—in charge of American health care. No “conservative” defender of traditional family values would propose, as ambassador to France, a convicted felon who sent a prostitute to seduce his sister’s husband in order to create a compromising tape—especially if that convicted felon happened to be the father of the president’s son-in-law.

Trump's personal cryptocurrency, $Trump, launched Friday night at 6 pm. As of this writing, it's trading at about $70. https://gettrumpmemes.com/ Price: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/official-trump/

There are currently 200 million TrumpCoins in circulation, with plans to grow that to one billion within three years. Out of the total supply, 80% are owned by CIC Digital, an affiliate of the Trump Organization, and a CIC co-owned entity called Fight Fight Fight LLC. At the current market value Trump's holdings would be worth $56 billion in 2028. ($70*80%*1 billion coins) There's more here: “Trump meme coin doubles again, stake worth $58 billion or more” https://www.axios.com/2025/01/18/trump-meme-coin-25-billion

The coins won't keep their $70 value, but even if they go down to $1.25, Trump's holdings would be worth nearly a billion dollars. Not bad for zero work.

I'm running out of things to say about Trump. I mean, how often can you ponder aloud that this time he's really gone too far? There is no bottom.

Technical details about how Donald Trump plans to get rich selling crypto coins

By Kevin Drum | Jan 19, 2025 at 11:52 AM

Bitcoin is mined. The amount of Bitcoin increases steadily over time according to the dictates of an algorithm, and new coins go to the lucky folks who successfully solve a difficult problem on their computer. You don't have to pay anyone for the coins.

But Donald Trump's meme coins are different, something I didn't fully appreciate when I wrote about them yesterday. New coins are created by Trump (or, more accurately, his agents) and then sold to the public on a set schedule over 36 months . . .

Because this is cryptocurrency and isn't regulated by the SEC, everything is private by design and it's hard to suss out what's really going on. In other words, it's a perfect vehicle for essentially bribing Trump without anyone ever being able to know it. It's no wonder Trump did a U-turn and became a big fan of cryptocurrency last year. Someone must have explained the possibilities of personal wealth to him.

I'm sure there's more to come. It will just take some sleuthing.

Donald Trump wants to buy TikTok

Last night TikTok went dark. They were not subtle about whose fault it was:
Quote:

Sorry, TikTok isn't available right now

A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can't use TikTok for now.

We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned!

Learn more / Close app

Donald Trump, the hero of TikTok, this morning announced his plan:
Quote:

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

I'm asking companies not to let TikTok stay dark! I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law's prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security. The order will also confirm that there will be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok from going dark before my order.

Americans deserve to see our exciting Inauguration on Monday, as well as other events and conversations.

I would like the United States to have a 50% ownership position in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands and allow it to stay up. Without U.S. approval, there is no TikTok. With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars - maybe trillions.

Therefore, my initial thought is a joint venture between the current owners and/or new owners whereby the U.S. gets a 50% ownership in a joint venture set up between the U.S. and whichever purchase we so choose.

8.01k ReTruths 32k Likes / Jan 19, 2025, 7:00 AM

This is all wildly illegal. Trump has no authority to simply ignore a law passed by Congress. The law does have a provision for a 90-day extension, but only if TikTok's owners have found a buyer—which they patently haven't. In fact, they've been vocal in their refusal to even consider it.

And then there's the dealmaker-in-chief's suggestion that the federal government buy a 50% share in TikTok. I'm at a loss for words here. He thinks the United States—CEO: Donald Trump—should own the most popular social media app on the planet? And be in control of content moderation? Maybe the government should nationalize a bunch of other pesky media sites while it's at it? The mind boggles.

I'd try to say more, but I really am at a loss for words. You'll have to make up some of your own.

President James Buchanan (the one immediately prior to Lincoln) could have killed the soon-to-be President of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis in Washington DC. All around DC traveled Jeff Davis, who would not stop talking about his plans to annihilate everything that is good about the USA. But Buchanan was a weak old man and let Jeff Davis continue with his well announced plans. Buchanan died June 1, 1868 (age 77 years) never admitting that he could have stopped a Civil War with one well placed bullet into Jeff Davis' head. President Joe Biden (age 82 years) is the next James Buchanan, a weak old man, and Trump is the next Jeff Davis, traveling around DC telling everyone about his plans to annihilate everything good about the USA.

6ixStringJack, Jeff Davis had millions of rabid followers, as does Trump, all convinced he would fix the United States by crushing the 'woke' abolitionists with their DEI programs of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion which would destroy the rights of slave owners who are the backbone, the soul, the very foundation of America's freedoms to be a complete asshole who doesn't work, much like 6ixStringJack and Trump loving billionaires, who also live off the work of others, not doing much more than owning property, collecting unearned income and cheating on taxes.

You missed the point that President James Buchanan did nothing but run his stupid mouth about Confederate President Jefferson Davis, who was walking and riding around Washington DC and describing plans to take control of America and remake into a paradise for slave owners. Historians rate Buchanan as one of the worst Presidents. It is a competition between Buchanan and President Andrew Johnson (the one immediately after Lincoln) about who is worse.

Biden will be in competition for worst depending on which Trump follows him. If it is the Trump of 2016, who didn't do anything except lower his own taxes, Biden is safe. If it is the Trump of 2024, who talks like he is the second coming of Jefferson Davis, Biden's reputation is in trouble for thinking as Buchanan had, that everything will be fine.

40% of Republicans support Trump corruption

Pretty much everyone is convinced that Donald Trump will use presidential power to go after his political opponents, though Democrats are more convinced.

But check out the follow-up poll question: 40% of Republicans think this is fine. Is this just how Republicans roll? Is it revenge because they think Biden sicced prosecutors on Trump? Do they not really understand that this is wrong?

I suppose the good news is that at least 40% is still a minority. But it's close.

Panama turned its canal into a money-maker. History shows why Trump’s threats are sounding the alarm bells

By Patrick Oppmann | 10:20 PM EST, Mon January 20, 2025

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/01/20/americas/panama-canal-trump-threat-
intervention-intl-latam

US President Donald Trump in his inaugural address on Monday vowed to wrest the canal back. “We have been treated very badly from this foolish gift that should have never been made and Panama’s promise to us been broken,” Trump said, claiming that Panama overcharges the US Navy to transit the canal.

“Above all China is operating the Panama Canal,” Trump also said, a frequent claim he has made without providing any evidence. “And we didn’t give it to China, we gave it to Panama and we are taking it back!”

The lucrative Panama Canal

In 2007, Panama began work on the canal’s largest expansion in nearly a century, a new set of locks that would allow larger ships – more than one and a half times the size the ships that previously transited the waterway to travel through the canal. The new locks cost Panama more than $5 billion and went into operation in 2016. They also more than doubled the marine traffic the canal could handle.

“We paid for it, we built it, and right now over 55% of the revenues of the Panama Canal are coming from that investment, not from the US investment that they made so long ago,” former Administrator of the Panama Canal Jorge Luis Quijano told CNN.

The expanded canal has reaped billions of dollars for Panama and helped the country become a rare bastion of stability in Central America where other nations are beset by poverty and violent drug trafficking that fuel migration to the US.

I heard bits and pieces of Trump's word salad that he spewed (virtually) at the WEF. I don't remember enough of it to comment specifically but it was pretty cringeworthy.
OTOH most of the globalist speakers spew word salad there too, so I suppose nobody should take seriously what is said there.

A one-off concern, not a gripe. I have heard Trump comment more than once that he was saved by God ("If I hadn't hadn't turned my head just at that moment...") to save America. I hope he's not serious about that, but it sounds like he half believes it.

OK... Saudi Arabia and OPEC are not about to bring down the cost of oil to "end the war in Ukraine"?

Why should they???? They are 100% dependent on oil money. Trump would have to give them something YUGE! in return. And what that is, I can't imagine. Maybe he'll give them Gaza, or Iran.

I think AI is a scam, and I wouldn't throw two pennies at it.

Deregulation, lower taxes (for domestic producers and manufacturers), low interest rates, lower energy costs... I guess it's supposed to lower the value of USD and spur manufacturing at home. Needs thought.

But I conflated this speech with another. If I can find it I'll highlight the problematic areas.

Donald Trump Attacks Zelensky: 'He's No Angel'
Published Jan 24, 2025 at 2:40 AM EST
Updated Jan 24, 2025 at 5:32 AM EST

By Maya Mehrara

President Donald Trump has said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is "no angel" and suggested he shares the blame for the start of the Russia-Ukraine war.

In his first sit-down interview since returning to the White House, Trump criticized Zelensky, saying that he "shouldn't have allowed this war to happen."

"Zelensky was fighting a much bigger entity, much bigger, much more powerful," Trump told Fox News. "He shouldn't have done that, because we could have made a deal."

Why It Matters

Trump's criticism of both Zelensky and Vladimir Putin in the interview risks making it more difficult for him to help broker a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

It also signifies a major shift in tone from Joe Biden's administration, which offered substantial financial and military backing for Ukraine's war effort.

What To Know

In his interview, Trump criticized Zelensky for wanting to fight the war despite massive military deficiencies in comparison to Russia.

"First of all, he's fighting a much bigger entity," Trump said. "We started pouring equipment... and they [Ukraine] had the bravery to use the equipment, but in the end, it's a war that has to be settled," Trump said.

But he added that Zelensky has now "had enough" and "wants to settle" in order to secure peace.

Not according to Zelensky's public statements. He's still angling for EU troops ('peacekeeping force') of 200,000, whose only function is to act as tripwires to rope the USA in.

Quote:

Trump also blamed Putin for the war, claiming that Russia had lost around 850,000 soldiers.
Where is he getting those numbers from? Kiev? If so, he's really misunderstanding the war.

Quote:

"Putin shouldn't have done it... and it has to stop," he said.

He warned that the U.S. would impose "massive tariffs and massive taxes" on Russia...

... "and various other participating countries" Newsweek left that out.
What does he mean by "participating nations"? Does he mean nations alleged to be directly contributing to Russia's war effort? (supposedly N Korea, China, Iran, possibly Belarus). Doubtful, since Iran N Korea and already blockaded.
Does he mean any nation buying products from Russia? Well, that would be pretty much the whole world. Or does he mean something intermediate, like the BRICS?
Bc I think Trump is really using the war in Ukraine to tackle BRICS nations, and BRICS maybe wannabes, like Saudi Arabia.

Quote:

and if Putin does not agree to a peace deal soon.

Meanwhile, Trump also reiterated his claim that the war would never have started if he had been in office over the past four years. He blamed Biden's administration for provoking Putin and allowing him to profit from soaring energy prices.

"Biden did a horrible, horrible job in allowing that war to start, it should never have started," he said. "He allowed energy to go way up, if he brought it down the war wouldn't have started."

What People Are Saying

President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday: "I'm not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people, and always had a very good relationship with President Putin - and this despite the Radical Left's Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX. We must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War

No. RUSSIA won the Second World War. OOPS!,
Quote:

losing almost 60,000,000 lives
that was the Soviet Union in total. Russia's losses, while huge, were about half that...
Quote:

in the process.

"All of that being said, I'm going to do Russia, whose economy is failing,

with a growth rate of 4.5%
Quote:

and President Putin, a very big FAVOR. Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT'S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE. If we don't make a 'deal,' and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries.

"Let's get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way - and the easy way is always better. It's time to "MAKE A DEAL." NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!"

Oy!

Megaphone diplomacy ... staking out a position and threatening with a bullhorn ... usually doesn't work well. Especially if your background facts are wrong, bc it's difficult to back down or change position from there.

So far, I'd say he's doing pretty much everything wrong. And Trump is not protecting America's vital interests this way, he's once again meddling in places that don't involve us. We'll see how well Trump handles this.

Eggs are pricey again. What’s Trump doing about it?

A carton of eggs today costs more than $4 on average, up from about $2.50 a year ago.

The USDA forecasts that egg prices will continue to rise through the first few months of 2025 before dropping to about half the peak price, according to the agency’s January forecasts. However, new or expanding bird flu outbreaks in the US could disrupt this.

. . . while the risk to most people might be low now, the longer the epidemic in poultry continues and the more opportunities the virus has to adapt to spread amongst humans, the more likely the risk for a pandemic becomes.

I knew Trump would probably piss me off over the Middle East (now called Western Asia, BTW) sooner or later, but I didn't think it would be this soon.

Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is a Jew, a Zionist, and a real estate investor. He's reportedly expressed a desire to clean out Gaza and turn it into a resort community.

I sense a lot of deal-making in the background. Deals with Mohammed bin Salman (Saudi) Deals with Israeli genocidal government officials (Netanyahu, Smotrich etc). This isn't a vital American interest. Why is Trump meddling with Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia?

Quote:

Trump Calls For Jordan, Egypt To Take More Palestinian Refugees, "Clean Out" Gaza
President Donald Trump said on Jan. 25 that he wants Egypt, Jordan, and other Arab nations to accept more Palestinian refugees from the Gaza Strip, with the goal of moving out enough of the war-torn area’s population to “just clean [it] out” and create a virtual clean slate of the Palestinian territory.

Trump made the comments during a 20-minute question-and-answer conference with reporters on Air Force One Saturday. He said he lifted former President Joe Biden’s hold on sending 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, which was intended to lower civilian casualties in the Israel–Hamas War, now paused during a fragile cease-fire deal.

Trump said he released the bombs that day, “They’ve been waiting for them for a long time.”

When asked why he lifted the ban, Trump said, “Because they bought” the bombs.

The president has backed Israel for much of his political career. Regarding his goals for Gaza, Trump described a call earlier in the day with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and said he would speak with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi on Sunday.

“I’d like Egypt to take people,” Trump said.

“You’re talking about probably a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing and say, ‘You know, it’s over.’”

During his call with Abdullah, Trump said he complimented Jordan for taking in Palestinian refugees and told the king, “I'd love for you to take on more, cause I’m looking at the whole Gaza Strip right now, and it’s a mess. It’s a real mess.”

The resettling or displacement of Gaza refugees would likely spur pushback from Palestinians, who hold a connection to the region. Trump said the area has experienced “many, many conflicts” for centuries and that resettling could be “temporary or long term.”

“Something has to happen,” the president said. “But it’s literally a demolition site right now. Almost everything’s demolished, and people are dying there.”

“So, I’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations, and build housing in a different location, where they can maybe live in peace for a change,” he added.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office did not issue an immediate response to Trump’s remarks.

After his inauguration on Jan. 20, Trump said Gaza has “really got to be rebuilt in a different way.”

”Gaza is interesting. It’s a phenomenal location, on the sea. The best weather, you know, everything is good. It’s like, some beautiful things could be done with it,” he added.

The response from the Hamas terrorist group and its aligned groups was swift, with the terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad calling Trump’s idea “deplorable.” The group told AFP that the plan encourages “war crimes and crimes against humanity by forcing our people to leave their land.”

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group, an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, has fought alongside Hamas and other allied Palestinian groups throughout the Israel-Hamas war. It is the second-largest militant group in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. The U.S. State Department designated it as a terrorist group in 1997.

Bassem Naim of Hamas’s political bureau told AFP that Palestinians would foil those plans, just as they have with other ideas “for displacement and alternative homelands over the decades.”

He added that Gazans would not “accept any offers or solutions, even if their apparent intentions are good under the banner of reconstruction, as proposed by U.S. President Trump.”

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, an opponent of the Gaza truce deal, called Trump’s idea of seeking relocation for Gazans a “great idea.”

“Only out-of-the-box thinking with new solutions will bring a solution of peace and security,” he said.

Trump’s resumption of large bomb deliveries is a break from Biden, who stalled their delivery in May to limit an all-out assault on Rafah, the southern Gaza city. Israel took control of the city a month later after a majority of Rafah’s one million residents that had lived or taken shelter in the city had been removed.

At the time, Biden had also paused 1,700 500-pound bombs that were packaged in the same shipment, but delivered those weeks later.

Trump’s latest move comes amid his celebrations of the first phase of the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Fighting is paused, and Hamas released some of the hostages it took in return for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.

However, negotiations in the cease-fire’s second phase have not yet begun, which would result in all Hamas-held hostages being released.

The Israeli government has threatened to resume its war with Hamas—which began after the terrorist group massacred Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, 2023—if the remaining hostages are not released.

But I just have to wait and see, like we all do

I don't give one single fuck about other countries or any of the people living in them. Fuck all of them.

The cabinet picks are all going smoothly. The media is being shown as the joke that we always knew it was. Skulls are being cracked among the illegals and they're being shown the exit door. DEI is dead. There are only 2 genders.

Trump has done 10 times as much good for America in one week than Joe Biden* did in 4 years.

What I meant was ... doing everything wrong with regards to negotiations with Russia, and in the Middle East. If he wants to disengage, then DISENGAGE. Don't go playing around with Russia "and various other participating countries", Gaza, Jordan, Israel, and Egypt. IMHO that's an exercise in hubris.

Just GTFO.

Crypto is really bothering me though, NGL...

In the back of my mind I'm hoping that Trump learned a thing or two from SBF, Logan Paul and the Huak Tauh girl about rug pulls, and he's going to do a pump and dump on everyone else.

Could you imagine if Trump paid off our national debt by putting half of the nations of the world and all the crypto bros into bankruptcy overnight.

I hear ya on crypto. It's vaporware, there's nothing behind it. That's not to say that blockchain isn't a good way to transfer funds.

Also, I think AI is also vaporware. Other than bragging rights, I don't see a reason to make a big push. Unless this is a sop to Musk, something else for him to invest in, since Trump is going away from EV/ solar power.

Why? Why should we be using our power to take "these people... down a peg or two"? Are Egypt, Jordan, Israel, or Saudi Arabia credible threats to us? Or Iran? Do they threaten our vital interests?

The only thing I can think that we need to import is heavy crude, pluse we need transit thru the Panama and Suez canals.

Do you really understand blockchain though? Or any of the other jargon they throw around. I was just having a conversation with my friend the other night about this and I told him that 99% of the people who have invested in or even talk about crypto have actually no fucking clue what they're talking about or what they've invested in. That includes me.

It's so little-understood and mis-understood by everyone that it's almost pointless to have a conversation about it with anyone at all, if it weren't for the fact that it can destroy economies. Or if taken over by government that they'd one day have 100% control over every transaction ever made.

I don't know. I think that everyone is overstating the current power of AI, similarly to how they were trying to convince you that VR was a thing in the 90's when we clearly were nowhere near the level of graphical capability to immerse you.

But what I have seen is still pretty freaking impressive. Things that are possible today that weren't even possible for most people 3 years ago.

It's sufficiently terrifying to me. At the very least it's a potential threat.

The more of theirs everyone is using while the price is cheap the better for whoever is alive in the world when the oil starts running out and getting increasingly difficult and less lucrative to produce.

At it's heart, blockchain is a way of recording data that can't be spoofed or altered.
For example, if you receive data, one way to record it is use previously recorded data to encrypt the next set of data. Then, if that data is distributed to other sites, their previously recorded data is going to be different. It would be an impossible task to decrypt and unentangle to recover that one bit of data. Im just extarpolating from what I remember about secure electronic records.

I'll look into it.

Cryptocurrency AFAIK is simply a way of calculating a unique set of numbers, and making it increasingly difficult to continue the calculation - like calculating prime numbers, for example - according to various algorithms that end with a finite set of numbers. Those numbers are attached to some sort of asset... in this case, cryptocurrencies are attached indirectly to the dollar. That attachment is as bogus as the value of fiat currency itself. But the supposed value of crypto is that since the # of numbers that can be generated is finite, it can't be issued (inflated) indefinitely. Supposedly. But the value of each coin can be inflated, so ... It's still worthless, IMHO.

Pure speculation.

Block chain is simply a secure way of recording cryptocurrency transactions (ledger) but it can be used for a lot of other things.

SECOND

The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/two

Agriculture is the most striking example: Immigrants — many of them undocumented — make up most of the farm labor force:

Source: USDA

Push those workers out, either by actual deportation or detention or simply by creating a climate of fear, and just watch what happens to grocery prices.

About a quarter of construction industry employees are immigrants — 40 percent in Texas and California — but this number rises to 31 percent if you look only at “construction trades,” i.e., people who actually build stuff as opposed to working in offices or marketing. And the immigrant share is much higher in particular trades:
Source: National Association of Homebuilders

So at a time when Americans are still angry about the price of groceries and, with more justification, about the unaffordability of housing, Trump’s immigrant crackdown seems set to hobble food production and home construction.

Yet I don’t think he can dial it back. He can call off his tariffs, claiming to have won big concessions from Canada and Mexico, or grant tariff exemptions to his friends, turning them into one more instrument of corruption. But his screeds against immigrants have, I believed, unleashed forces of hatred that he can’t rein in. And these forces will make America poorer as well as uglier.

And if you can't find examples of us being FORCED to act against our interests (fighting other people's wars, sending money to foreign causes, allowing massive illegal immigration, sending our manufacturing overseas) then you have to conclude that it was our politicians who betrayed us. We did it to ourselves.

As far as shitting on the big guys ... Russia, China ... dude, that ship has sailed.

We can't take on Russia or China if we're fighting near their horders: logistics and military strength just aren't on our side. And we can't take them on economically, altho I know Trump is gonna try.

Our mission should be to rebuild economically and socially, and if we're serious about it, the wealthy are gonna have to sacrifice their wealth in order to do it.

So, getting a sense of Trump's foreign policy, I would call it "threatening to rampage" thru much smaller, much weaker nations, and allies.

Greenland and Denmark.
Colombia.
Gazans.
Panama.
Making the EU pay for NATO.
Basically, taking from anyone who can't fight back.

Not a good start Mr. President. Making more enemies unnecessarily. I hope it's just a "maximum pressure" negotiating ploy.

*****

I think Trump's first term, he learned the limits of his power in setting domestic policy, given the deep state's captured politicians' and media's intransigence.

I believe he has that figured out now. What he now has to deal with are foreign powers and THEIR legit resistance to his claims. I hope he has a good reading of the cards in his hand, and doesn't waste his effort on shit that doesn't matter.

For example, if he's REALLY fearful of an attack via the Arctic, I'm sure Greenland would be more than happy to host an American base. If that's not whats bothering him, then it's just a land grab, like attempting to grab Gaza or Panama.

the endless Middle East wars...

Israel consulted US on Gaza airstrikes. Was this Trump's 'last warning' to Hamas?

Mideast policy of pandering to Netanyahu

Obliterating the NLRB

And my god, he runs his mouth. No filter. The first thing that pops into his head winds up on Truth Social.

Other than that .... still watching. trying to sort out the bullshit from what he's really serious about.

Sorry, but you got Ukraine backwards.

It's not Trump who "betrayed" Ukraine, it was Biden*, by arming Ukraine and aiming it at a superior military.

And every neocon, grifting official, and brainwashed Russophobe ever since, who wanted to keep throwing Ukraine bodies into the meat grinder, even when it was clear that Ukraine and NATO were getting their collective ass handed to them.

Peace is the only thing that can save what's left of Ukraine, even if it's the peace of unconditional surrender. There's no other option

And if you think there is, tell me what, spell it out step by step, identity the resources and logistics, and tell me the probable outcomes.

In other words, instead of engaging rhetoric, engage brain.

Nobody cares about Ukraine. Nobody ever cared about Ukraine.

Just like I said from the very beginning.

At this point Jaynez may sound a little hyperbolic, but I'd be lying if I didn't share that feeling.

I don't like that particular rhetoric. I don't like the idea of American Born Citizens being shipped to foreign prisons. I don't like the fact that the only reason we've got somebody saying things like this today is because of how fucking bonkers the Left made the world leading up until this point.

Stop talking about what you want to do and just find some of these people and make a harsh example of them. Immediately. Don't wait until next month. Don't wait until next week. Do it tomorrow.

The longer you let this bullshit go on the more people are emboldened to keep doing it. Just finish it now before this whole thing starts boiling over into Kent State II territory.

I am 100% against this idea. Kick all the invaders out. Keep our prisoners here. Start cracking a few skulls again and let people know that clown world is over and we don't tolerate fatherless behavior out in the streets anymore. If you want to be psycho, keep it in your bedroom.

A headline I would like to see: Trump decides NOT to change tariffs after consulting with knowledgeable advisors. But this is the real headline:

Trump says any country buying Venezuelan oil will face a 25% tariff

By Elisabeth Buchwald | 12:33 PM EDT, Mon March 24, 2025

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/24/business/trump-venezuela-oil-tariffs/in
dex.html

President Donald Trump said Monday that he will impose tariffs of 25% on any nation that purchases oil from Venezuela.

“Venezuela has been very hostile to the United States and the Freedoms which we espouse. Therefore, any Country that purchases Oil and/or Gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay a Tariff of 25% to the United States on any Trade they do with our Country,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

Trump claimed, without evidence, Venezuela has “purposefully and deceitfully” sent criminals, including violent individuals and members of gangs like Tren de Aragua, to the United States.

This news comes after reports that Trump is set to delay prior tariffs he announced, including charging 25% on imports of pharmaceuticals, cars and lumber. Those tariffs were set to go into effect April 2, the same day Trump’s said he’ll announce a number of reciprocal tariffs on other nations — a day he refers to as “liberation day.” He pledged Monday to enact the 25% tariffs on countries purchasing oil from Venezuela on that same day.

Markets opened markedly higher on Monday and appeared unphased by Trump’s latest threats.

Venezuela was one of the top foreign suppliers of oil to the US last year, according to Commerce Department trade data. In total, the US bought $5.6 billion of oil and gas from there in 2024. This came after the Biden administration briefly lifted sanctions on Venezuelan oil in 2023. But they were reinstated in April 2024 after the Biden administration accused the country’s leader, Nicolás Maduro, of failing to hold free and fair elections.

Even though shipments rose significantly during that short period, Venezuelan oil and gas shipments trailed far behind America’s top source of foreign oil, Canada, which exported $106 billion of oil and gas to the US last year. Canada alone accounted for 60% of all oil and gas the US imported last year, while Venezuela accounted for 3%.

Prior to Monday’s announcement, Trump was already gearing up to limit the ability for Venezuelan oil to reach the United States by revoking Chevron’s joint venture license to pump oil there. After meeting with Chevron CEO Mike Wirth and other oil executives last week, Trump is now considering extending their license, according to an industry source.

The move, which is set to take effect on April 3, was presented by the Trump administration in part as a form of punishment for Venezuela’s unwillingness to accept deported migrants, who were accused of being part of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang.

Venezuela has since reached an agreement to resume repatriation flights from the US, receiving 200 deportees on Monday. Some relatives of deportees have told CNN that their family members were not involved in any criminal activity and there’s been very little evidence presented by the administration to dispel such claims.
