Evil. Democrats are evil.

Quote:

“The stakes couldn’t be higher,” Jay Jones, the Virginia Democrat running for state attorney general, said Monday in an X post. It was an ironic post, coming 10 days after National Review reported numerous violent text messages Jones sent to a colleague in the legislature about a Republican lawmaker. Jones fantasized about urinating on the graves of political opponents as well as shooting then-Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert with “two bullets to the head.”

He also texted that he hoped Gilbert’s wife, Jennifer, would one day hold one of her children as they died.

THE CLOSING OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY MIND

He followed that post with the same tropes used against all Republicans about “saving our democracy” and accusing incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares of being someone “who takes directives from Donald Trump.”

So what makes the stakes higher in this local election?

Is it character? There is none evident here. How can he tell voters he has the comportment to govern?

And how hard is it for Virginia Democrats to demand that he face consequences for his behavior? Where are Sens. Mark Warner (D-VA) and Tim Kaine (D-VA)? Gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger and lieutenant gubernatorial nominee Ghazala Hashmi? Yes, they have tepidly called Jones’s texts inexcusable. As for consequences? Well, they all still endorse him.

One Democrat they didn’t support after a major scandal was former Virginia governor Ralph Northam. They tried very hard to drive him out of office in 2019 when it was unearthed that he appeared in blackface in a college yearbook in the 1980s.

It didn’t work. He stayed, defying all of the pressure.

At the time, Warner and Kaine said in a joint statement, “We no longer believe he can effectively serve as the governor of Virginia and that he must resign.”

So did every major national Democrat, from Kamala Harris to former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe to Joe Biden. Yet there is no call for Jones to exit the race.

Perhaps it is because Democrats know it is too late to replace him on the ballot. Early voting has already started, and perhaps they don’t want the Republicans to score a win in the off-year cycle. Or, perhaps, and this is the worst possible scenario, the Democrats are secretly OK with what Jones texted.

Jones has a host of other problems as well. He was stopped by law enforcement in 2022 for going 116 mph in a 70-mph zone, an infraction that could have resulted in jail time for reckless driving. Instead, his lawyer and the commonwealth’s attorney worked out a deal by which Jones was only required to do 1,000 hours of community service, the bulk of which was performed by Jones for his own political action committee in lieu of jail time.

OCT. 7 FACT VS. FALSEHOODS

Virginia Democrats come across looking as though murder and gaming the system are not issues that deserve consequences. They aren’t going to stick their necks out to make Jones leave the race.

This story has totally blown up the race. However, the lingering question remains about the mindset of the Virginia Democrats, and indeed the mindset of national Democrats.

Evil. Democrats are evil.

During WWII, the Nazis claimed Democrats were evil because Democrats were burning Nazis alive with fire bombs. Nazis can't understand why Democrats would want to kill them, whether in Germany or the Nazis in the USA.

‘I love Hitler’: Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat

Thousands of private messages reveal young GOP leaders joking about gas chambers, slavery and rape.

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/14/private-chat-among-young-gop-
club-members-00592146

Leaders of Young Republican groups throughout the country worried what would happen if their Telegram chat ever got leaked, but they kept typing anyway.

They referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people” and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

Evil. Democrats are evil.

In case you feel that Trump is not evil, his mouth gives evidence that he is:

Trump Fabricates Story of Hand-to-Hand Combat Between Troops and Child Gangsters in D.C.

Trump’s claim that National Guard members beat child gang members on the streets of Washington was disputed even by the military.

By Nick Turse | October 15 2025, 2:29 p.m

https://theintercept.com/2025/10/15/trump-lie-national-guard-dc-tren-d
e-aragua
/

President Donald Trump claims that U.S. troops have engaged in hand-to-hand combat with young members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua on the streets of Washington, D.C. But Joint Task Force–District of Columbia, the umbrella organization for the military occupation of the nation’s capital, says it never happened.

Trump’s outlandish claim — that National Guard members beat child gang members — is one of numerous demonstrably false claims peddled by the president concerning the deployment of military troops, including that there is now “no crime” in the district. It’s part of a raft of lies Trump has used to paint America’s cities as war-torn wastelands and justify urban military occupations. These blatant falsehoods have increasingly drawn the ire of the federal judiciary.

“You saw it in Washington,” Trump announced in an address to hundreds of top military officers late last month. “We had gangs of Tren de Aragua, say 10, 12, 15 kids. And these military guys walk up to them, and they treat them with disrespect, and they just got pounded.” After twice more reiterating that U.S. troops “pounded” gang members, Trump claimed the suspects were “thrown into paddy wagons and taken back to their country.”

JTF–DC spokesperson Alexia Nal says that troops deployed on the streets of the capital have never engaged in combat with any suspected criminals. “Nope. We’re not allowed to,” she told The Intercept, stating that service members cannot put their hands on people. One defense official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, called Trump’s claim “obvious bullshit.” Two more government officials laughed when The Intercept brought the president’s story to their attention. “Of course not. Not a chance,” one of them said when asked if there was any possibility that Trump’s account was based on a real incident.

“President Trump’s false and inflammatory justifications for deploying federal agents and National Guard troops to vibrant American cities may keep shifting, but the truth does not,” Hina Shamsi, the director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s national security project, told The Intercept. “There’s simply no emergency to justify deploying federal forces to Washington D.C. or any other city the president wrongly paints as a hellscape.”

The White House did not respond to questions about the supposed assault of members of Tren de Aragua; whether the supposed gang members were, in fact, children; and if the president was suggesting members of Tren de Aragua were driven by “paddy wagon” to Venezuela.

Trump’s fabricated tale of combat on the capital’s streets are mirrored by his clearly false claims about crime in Washington since troops began their occupation of the city in August. “D.C. is now a no — it’s a free crime city. We have no crime in D.C. … It took me 12 days,” Trump announced early last month, also referencing Tren de Aragua in those remarks.

Trump reiterated those boasts more recently. “We’ve got no crime,” Trump claimed last week. “It took 12 days to solve the problem. And we’re going to do that in Chicago, we’re going to do that in Portland.” The remarks came only hours after D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department announced the victims of two deadly shootings.

A JTF–DC spokesperson refused to contradict her commander-in-chief. “We do not speculate,” she responded when asked if crime in the district had been eliminated. “However, JTF–DC stays committed to the mobilization in the District until law and order is restored.”

Regular announcements on the Metropolitan Police Department’s website, alone, put the lie to Trump’s boasts. “On Sunday, October 12, 2025, at approximately 10:18 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3800 block of 9th Street, Southeast … the victim was pronounced dead,” reads a MPD press release issued on Tuesday. Of more than 20 announcements made last week, two chronicled homicides.

“Yes, there has been crime,” MPD spokesperson Ebony Major told The Intercept. “I mean, there’s crime everywhere.”

In addition to Washington, D.C., Trump has deployed or is attempting to deploy troops to Los Angeles, Memphis, New Orleans, Chicago, and Portland, Oregon. A federal judge ruled last month that the first of those deployments, which is ongoing, is illegal. Courts have recently blocked the latter two occupations — at least temporarily — leaving activated federalized troops in a holding pattern. “They are not conducting any missions right now,” a Northern Command spokesperson told The Intercept on Tuesday, referencing troops in Illinois and Oregon. “They’re just on standby.”

Trump has also threatened to send the military to Baltimore, New York City, Oakland, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Seattle to put down supposed rebellions and to aid law enforcement agencies, despite falling crime numbers and pushback by local officials. “[W]e’re going to go city by city,” he said earlier this month. “We’re going to have safe cities.”

Hanna Homestead of the National Priorities Project, a nonpartisan research group, said Trump was employing a standard playbook as his D.C. deployment burns through an estimated $1 million per day. “This is nothing new,” she told The Intercept. “All authoritarian regimes frame ruthlessly oppressive social control and militarization as necessary for public safety.”

Trump has justified his push to militarize urban America through gross hyperbole, dog-whistle politics, and the peddling of baseless lies. Trump said protesters in Los Angeles were “animals” and “a foreign enemy,” calling the city “a trash heap” with “entire neighborhoods under control” of criminals. He said Washington, D.C.’s homicide rate is higher than “the worst places on Earth.” (Not only did Trump use older and larger statistics, but even cherry-picking the data, at least 49 other cities across the world had higher homicide rates.) Trump also claims that Portland is “war-ravaged” and in a state of rebellion. “Portland has been on fire for years. … I really think that’s really criminal insurrection,” Trump recently told reporters.

Last month, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer ruled that the Trump administration’s Los Angeles occupation is illegal, noting that while troops were deployed “ostensibly to quell a rebellion,” there was “no rebellion, nor was civilian law enforcement unable to respond to the protests and enforce the law.”

More recently, Breyer has been echoed by other federal judges ruling on court challenges to Trump’s proposed military occupations of Portland and Chicago. “The President’s determination was simply untethered to the facts,” U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut in the Oregon case found, noting that “the protests in Portland were not ‘a rebellion’ and did not pose a ‘danger of a rebellion.’” District Judge April Perry similarly wrote that the Trump administration’s “perceptions are not reliable” and that she could not “find reasonable support for a conclusion that there exists in Illinois a danger of rebellion.”

Trump’s claims of hand-to-hand combat against Tren de Aragua in Washington follow persistent attempts to paint the gang as a bogeyman to justify illegal, authoritarian efforts by the administration. At the beginning of his second term, the Trump administration claimed Tren de Aragua had invaded the United States, allowing the government to use the 1798 Alien Enemies Act’s fast-track deportation of people it says belong to the gang. Last month, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the government from using the war-time law. “We conclude that the findings do not support that an invasion or a predatory incursion has occurred,” wrote Judge Leslie Southwick.

The Trump administration is also waging a secret war against mostly undisclosed enemies in the Caribbean without the consent of Congress. The administration refuses to identify the “designated terrorist organizations” it is attacking in its strikes on purported drug-smuggling boats, beyond claims by the president that at least some of those killed are “Tren de Aragua Narcoterrorists.”

Trump has also had a long history of demonizing youth, especially minority children. From the very beginning of the D.C. deployment, Trump has leaned on the notion that not only had the capital “been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals,” but also specifically “caravans of mass youth” who “rampage through city streets” day and night.

This type of vilification by Trump goes back decades to the furor surrounding a group of Black and Latino boys who were wrongly accused of raping Trisha Meili, a white woman jogger in New York’s Central Park in 1989. Trump took out full-page ads in four newspapers calling for New York to “BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE!”

The so-called Central Park Five were convicted, but later exonerated and had their convictions vacated after a convicted serial rapist confessed to the crimes. The confession was confirmed by DNA evidence. New York City awarded the men $41 million in 2014, a decade after some of the men initially sued the city for how it handled the case.

The five men sued Trump during last fall’s presidential election campaign, accusing him of making “false and defamatory statements” about them during the September 10 debate in which he said they “pled guilty” and “killed a person.” Neither is true. (A federal judge rejected Trump’s effort to dismiss a defamation lawsuit earlier this year.)

In his 1989 newspaper ads, Trump painted New York City as “a world ruled by the law of the streets, as roving bands of wild criminals roam our neighborhoods, dispensing their own vicious brand of twisted hatred on whomever they encounter.” In August, Trump trotted out similar language to describe Washington. “Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged-out maniacs,” he announced, claiming D.C. had been overtaken by “crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor and worse.”

Experts told The Intercept that it was clear that Trump was banking on his fearmongering about cities to galvanize public support and justify turning America into a full-fledged police state. “President Trump has slandered everyone from peaceful protesters to urban communities just trying to live their lives in his attempt to make the U.S. seem far more dangerous than it actually is,” Sara Haghdoosti, the executive director of Win Without War, told The Intercept.

“His goal is simple: the more people believe that violence is rampant, the more power he can accrue under the guise of national security. But people in this country can see his obvious lies for what they are, which is why his authoritarian agenda gets less popular every day.”

This thread is NOT about what you think, you goddamn Nazi. It is about Democrats killing Nazis in WWII, but not doing it today. Back then, Americans didn't have qualms about firebombing Nazis, except Kurt Vonnegut, who earned a good living post-war as a professional qualm-meister, worried about being too violent, long time after sufficient Nazis had been killed to make the world safe for democracy and pussycats like Kurt. Democrats have read too many Kurt Vonnegut novels and misunderstood the lessons from the Vietnam War, where we were the bad guys.

Long ago, Democrats understood that Nazis were evil, and they didn't drop leaflets on them explaining the evil plans embedded in Mein Kampf. They dropped firebombs. Nowadays, Democrats waste time explaining to Trumptards the evil plans embedded within Project 2025. Today's Nazis, like the old-time Nazis, don't see their evil actions and their child rapist and tax cheating President as evil. Their eyes and minds invert and reverse evil with good.

For the dumber Trumptards, Mein Kampf served as the foundational ideological blueprint for the Nazi Party, outlining Adolf Hitler's political vision, antisemitic views, and racist worldview. The book laid the groundwork for the policies and atrocities that the Nazis would later carry out. Trump's Project 2025 serves the same purpose as Hitler's Mein Kampf.

Do you remember all the hand-wringers in the North during the Civil War? They literally could not decide whether slavery was evil or an acceptable way to organize an economy. The Northerners vacillated back and forth, day and night, hour after hour, about whether Southerners were sufficiently justified, or not, for rebelling against Lincoln, who was interfering with the Constitutional rights of states to decide what their local culture would permit in handling the workforce.

Eventually, Generals like Grant and Sherman made the hard decision. But the hand-wringing continued. Oh, the slaughter was too much! Couldn't war be more civilized? The slave-owners are Americans, too! Why can't we come to a compromise and all be friends again? Northeners and Southeners as brothers once more. (Blacks were excluded from the brotherhood, except for the particularly noble examples such as Frederick Douglass)

For a few months, there was moral clarity. Cotton plantations were burned. Slave-owners were killed, but then it once again became cloudy and uncertain about how badly workers can be mistreated by their employers. Nowadays, the workers get a tiny paycheck directly deposited into bank accounts, unlike slaves. Still, it is not at all clear that most Americans understand how badly a majority of workers are mistreated in America, just like how badly workers were mistreated in antebellum America.

World War II was also a confused moral mess, at least in some weak minds, with Republicans refusing to declare war on Germany and Japan. There were vast numbers of Americans who could see no need to stop the Germans from invading Poland. Or France. No need to accept Jews fleeing Nazis. Especially no need to do anything about Japan invading Asia in the 1930s and slaughtering millions and millions.

But, finally, Democrats decided the Germans and Japanese were evil. Democrats killed millions of those evil people, plus their darling little children, as a bonus. Nothing clarifies the mind of a Nazi or Japanese Imperialist faster than pouring gasoline on babies and setting them ablaze.

Evil. Democrats are evil.

By David French | Oct 16, 2025

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/16/opinion/christianity-charlie-kirk-r
evolution-revival.html

My Sunday column was about a Trump-appointed judge, Karin Immergut, who sees through the Trump con:

Presidents have enjoyed a degree of judicial deference in part because they have earned it. Generations of good faith and fair dealing with federal courts have even created a doctrine called the “presumption of regularity,” where courts presume that official duties have been properly discharged — unless there is “clear evidence to the contrary.”
https://harvardlawreview.org/print/vol-131/the-presumption-of-regulari
ty-in-judicial-review-of-the-executive-branch
/

There is now “clear evidence” — in the form of Trump’s own words — that there is nothing regular about this administration.

Judge Immergut understands this reality clearly. She understands that there are traditions that predate court precedent, that predate any deference to the executive. “This country,” she wrote, “has a longstanding and foundational tradition of resistance to government overreach, especially in the form of military intrusion into civil affairs.”

“This is a nation,” she continued, “of constitutional law, not martial law.”

That’s correct. The best way to evaluate the reasoning behind Trump’s actions is to examine Trump’s words, and Trump’s words reveal a man who isn’t just “untethered to the facts”; he’s also untethered to the law.

Dishonest presidents should be entitled to no deference at all.

On Saturday, we published a conversation with Michelle Cottle and E.J. Dionne Jr. The subject was Donald Trump’s military deployments to American cities. I’m concerned that we’re facing something worse than the Red Scare of the past. Now we face a blue scare.

French: It’s like you have the anti-Lincoln in the White House.

Dionne: Yes.

French: If you’re looking at Lincoln’s first Inaugural Address, he very eloquently, eloquently sort of begged and pleaded that we must not be enemies, we must be friends. We must remain friends. And of course, that fell on deaf ears. But now you have the exact opposite going on right now in the White House. And I think if you’re wanting to look for historic parallels, you’re going to go to Red Scare One and Red Scare Two.

Red Scare One came after World War I, Red Scare Two after World War II. But this isn’t a “Red Scare.” That actually undersells it. This is a “Blue Scare.” In other words, what he’s essentially saying is that it’s not the Communists we’re after — it’s Blue America. It’s the entire superstructure of Blue America, which they are categorizing as the equivalent of Communist Marxists. They’ll use that language.

So they’re turning all the engines of government against political opponents, justifying it to their base by claiming these people are the ultimate threat to the American experiment. This is Stephen Miller’s constant rhetoric. In that way, it makes the Red Scare look tame; it’s worse than the Red Scare because it’s like the Red Scare metastasized.

Yup.

6ix, you wrote #Rootin4Putin because you are evil. Typically, Libtards shrug it off as Trumptards being crude. Libtards philosophize with phrases such as "live and let live" and "to each, his own" and "so long as one does not harm others, an individual should be free to pursue his/her own ends". But it is a huge mistake to let evil people run loose. Evil people clump together into bigger and bigger groups that will resort to murdering people by the millions once good people allow evil people enough time to organize. See the Confederate States, Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Soviet Union, etc. for what happens when such evil groups are not violently disrupted. Almost certainly, Trumptard America is going in the same direction. There is still time to stop the Trumptards, but words won't be sufficient to even slow them down.

JD Vance Just Gave Us a Preview of Trumpism Without Trump

The vice president doesn’t see why full-grown Republican men should have to apologize for being racist Hitler lovers.

By Alex Shephard | Oct 15, 2025

https://newrepublic.com/article/201819/jd-vance-young-republican-racis
ts-future-trumpism

How old does JD Vance think is too old to use the n-word? How about saying “I love Hitler” or making jokes about gassing your political enemies?

These are absurd questions to be asking of a vice president, but they keep coming up because he keeps brushing off revelations that young Republicans have used racial slurs and other hate speech by insisting they’re just kids. When Marko Elez, a 25-year-old DOGE staffer, was terminated earlier this year over racist, pro-eugenics tweets, Vance insisted that such revelations should not “ruin a kid’s life.” On Wednesday, when Politico published the contents of a group chat containing several young GOP leaders, Vance came to their defense in a similar fashion.
https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/elon-musk-doge-staffer-rac
ist-posts-marko-elez-rcna191514

This wasn’t a college group chat. Its members were leaders in the Young Republican National Federation, which includes members up to the age of 40. William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used variations of the n-word. Peter Giunta, who was chief of staff for a New York assemblyman until he was fired on Tuesday, joked about murdering his opponents. Hendrix is 25. Giunta is 31. Vance, for what it’s worth, is 41. Before being tapped as Donald Trump’s running mate last year, he was also known to hang out in group chats with other young Republicans, some younger even than Hendrix. Is 41 too old to face consequences for your actions?

Vance’s repeated insistence that young adults should never be held accountable for using racial slurs is notable in and of itself. But his larger refusal to condemn depraved allies or even to distance himself from them is part of a larger trend. Most political norms—and the laws of political gravity that helped keep them in place—are long gone, replaced by an intense tribal loyalty that turns any scandal into an opportunity for whataboutism. This, it seems, is an early preview of Trump’s lasting political legacy: Republicans are no longer apologizing, nor are they pushing out racist, bigoted allies when they inevitably find themselves embroiled in controversy.

The vile contents of this leaked group chat are, as many have pointed out, not especially different from a great deal of what passes for discourse on the MAGA right. What is most notable about it, as Andrew Egger wrote in The Bulwark, is that the people involved are the product of a post-Trump culture that rewards “the most amoral and psychotic political strivers, and has held them up as a professional ideal for the young people coming up behind them to copy and emulate. This is what they know as the ticket to power.”
https://www.thebulwark.com/p/its-getting-worse-bondi-patel-political-p

We might be giving Trump too much credit, however. The radicalization of young Republicans predates his political rise in 2015. The racist, pro-Nazi far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August 2017 that left one young woman dead was full of young Republican leaders, many of whom had taken official positions before the start of Trump’s presidential campaign. As my former colleague Alex Pareene wrote in an extremely perceptive piece shortly after the Charlottesville rally, “Racial resentment has been a driving force behind College Republican recruitment for years, but at this point it’s really all they have left to offer.” Trump was a catalyst of the Republican Party’s transformation, but his rise was also a symptom of its radicalization and turn toward resentment, in other words. But young Republicans’ Nazi turn started long before his fateful trip down the Trump Tower escalator in June 2015.

Where Trump was different—and one reason why he is so uniquely beloved on the right—is that he provided a permission structure for Republicans to be publicly cruel and hateful. His rise came in no small part because he refused to be cowed or, for that matter, to ever apologize. In 2016, he was openly misogynistic to Megyn Kelly (now a staunch supporter), racist toward Blacks and Latinos, and contemptuous of anyone who opposed him (including war hero and former Republican presidential nominee John McCain). The controversy this generated was a virtuous cycle for Trump. He would say something inflammatory, pundits and politicians would criticize him, and he would not only refuse to back down but mock them as well—a media circus that sucked out all the oxygen from rivals and competitors.

Vance—and most pretenders to the throne—surely understands on some level that he lacks the strange charisma that is central to Trump’s brand. A great deal about Trump is fake—his wealth, his expertise, his skill, his golf handicap, his skin color and hair, for starters—but his contempt for his opponents is organic. But Vance recognizes that he can imitate the president in his refusal to throw any supporter under the bus—and that he won’t face any consequences from his MAGA-drunk party for doing so. So he invents spurious defenses for 31-year-olds making Hitler jokes and spouting racial slurs, rather than calling on them to apologize because doing the latter risks conceding that Republicans have a problem with racism (not to mention sexism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, and so on). It also risks alienating allies Vance knows he’ll need when he launches his own presidential campaign two years from now and staffers he’ll surely want to employ should it be successful.

Trump’s larger legacy is still being written, with more nightmarish chapters to come as the right lurches further toward xenophobia, nativism, and fascism. But it’s not clear if a figure like Vance will have the political capital and personal appeal to oversee the kind of authoritarian turn Trump is directing today. What’s already obvious is what Trumpism will look like after Trump: pedantic, cringey tweets by JD Vance defending a 31-year-old who said “I love Hitler.”

You still haven't figured out that YOU'RE evil?

You, THGR, WISHY ... no self awareness. You don't hold yourselves accountable at all.

You are the sum of what you do, and if you do evil ... even if for a cause you believe (there's that word again) is "righteous", you're evil.

But, yanno ... I think THGR and WISHY are just brain-dead.

You? I think that's how you rationalize your psychopathy to yourself. You may think you're fooling everyone, but you're only fooling yourself. And not very successfully.

Signym, in case you were unaware that Trump is evil, he once again reminds you:

Trump ‘OK’ with DC statue honoring Civil War leader who fought for slavery: ‘Lot of people in this room’ agree

Trump’s administration has pushed for restoring multiple memorials to the pro-slavery leader

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he’d have no problem with erecting a massive statue honoring Robert E. Lee, the Civil War general who led the South in rebellion against the United States to try and preserve the enslavement of Black people — within sight of the Lincoln Memorial.

His administration has consistently moved to restore tributes to Lee, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordering a portrait of Lee back to a place of honor at the U.S. Military Academy.

This restoration at West Point contradicts a Congressional commission's directive to remove items commemorating the Confederacy, with an Army spokesperson stating they honor history rather than erase it.
