Did you see the video they spliced together about Trump over at the BBC?

I'd been hearing about it for a while now and just kind of ignored it because at this point that's par for the course. Everyone is doing it.

But this was EGREGIOUS. This was a speech that was well over an hour long and they took two parts of that speech that were AN HOUR APART FROM EACH OTHER and spliced them together to say something he didn't say.

This was FAR, FAR worse than what 60 Minutes did before the election.

It's funny that the BBC program this showed on was called "Panorama". I didn't realize that at first, and when all the videos and articles said "Panorama edit", I thought that was just their clever way of naming a video splice of a speech that showed bookends of Trump's very long speech stitched together.

This is the video I saw last night where an Australian guy shows the time stamps in the speech showing that the splice was almost an hour apart...

(start it at 1:19 and watch until 2:02, if all you want to see is the edit itself.)

The first half of the splice where the cut him off mid-sentence happens at 12:16 PM, and at 1:10PM they spliced in the second part of a sentence he never said by playing the second half of another remark he made.

Unconscionable.

It's great that two BBC heads got fired over this, but this requires a lot more than just scapegoating a few rich white people.

Especially since my bet is that at least one of those two spots if not both are going to now be taken by Muslims.
