From your description, I think you accidentally triggered something called "Magnifier Tool" and a restart did not fix this.

There are two ways to fix this. One way if your keyboard has the "Windows Key", which will be a 4-pane Windows logo key somewhere on the bottom to the left of the Space Bar, and the 2nd way if your keyboard is old and doesn't have a "Windows Key".

1. Windows Key

Just hold down the Windows Key and press the ESC key. It's the key on the top left of your keyboard.

2. Without the Windows Key

Hold down both CTR and ALT keys on the left of your Space Bar and then hit the letter "M".

Either way should get you out of Magnifier Tool and back to your normal sized screen with the taskbar visible again.

Sorry about this trap. I'll try to explain everything to you when you're back up and running. I hope it doesn't put you out too much or cause you too much stress.

At library today and I tried the CTR and ALT last night on Windows start up page. I got a menu up but no restart on it.

Start-up page behaving same with task bar it is frozen still. It shows everything that is on drive program wise but everything is white. Also the only thing on taskbar that still is sort of lite up is where the Chrome icon was. It's square is still sort of lite and the blueline under it is still showing blue. Talked to a couple of places today and they say to do a restart. So I am lost and nervous.

Relax Brenda, we'll fix this.

Try the CTRL ALT DELETE again. It sounds like it's not a magnifier tool problem with what you updated us with and that your Explorer.exe is corrupt and needs a restart. The button press won't fix this. You need to force the computer to do a restart.

The menu DOES have Restart. You need to go, probably to the lower right corner where there are some icons. Click on the Circle Icon with a vertical line through the top. That's the universal sign for "Power". When you click that a menu will pop up with 3 or four choices. One of them will be Restart. Now that this doesn't look like a magnifier tool issue, a restart should fix the problem.

Here's a picture of the screen and the button you need to press:

I'm not going to explain what they do here and further confuse you. Just write down the following commands and try them in case a restart doesn't fix the issue:

If you have a Windows Key:

1. Hold the Windows Key and hit the ESC key

2. Hold Ctrl + Shift + Windows Key and hit the letter "B"

If you don't have a Windows Key:

3. Hold CTRL + ALT and hit the letter "M"

4. Hold CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + the number "8"
