America loves a winner!

Thanks for that very one sided part of the story. I guess there's no reason given what so ever as to WHY they did what they did, now is there?

Naww.. Best just to leave the rest of the story out, and let folks fill in the blanks w/ what ever they wish.

Well done.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

Does explaining why it was done change what was done?

The transcript obviously leaves out the fact that that 'little girl' was carring a mini-gun with 4,000 rounds of ammo.

That's the only explanation...

Of the thousands of Israeli children killed or maimed by Palestinian suicide bombers, you’re suddenly concerned with the death of this child? I think it’s pretty evident that the only thing you’re interested in here is a side of the story, probably not the death of children.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has had many, many tragic endings for many, many children.

Well, I'm concerned with every child's death, no matter which side.

It's just sad is all.

EDIT: deleting everything...

Whoa! This thread got nasty real fast, didn't it? My mistake; I was dumb enough to walk into a real world event forum. Back to where my heart is: the Verse. :) Good-bye.

I’m sorry if I killed the thread. Maybe I was little hasty. I generally don’t get that upset over stuff, but I don’t like the idea of people leveraging sympathy for one side of a war or another by exploiting the death of children. It’s not a ‘light’ subject, but possibly I misunderstood what stdoubt was trying to say.

The whole thing from a child's perspective is just horrific. Adults can make a distinction between which side is right or wrong, if either, but children are just caught up in this and pulled along.

Which is understandably why we can all get so touchy so quick.

*Wonders what AURaptors post would have been like if it was a Muslim or a Palestinian who had killed an Israeli kid...*

Let's see:
"Proof that Muslims and Palestinians are evil and deserve to die! They're culture and religion are evil we should wipe them out, sooner the better!"
Would be my guess.

Gotta love those double standards.

The death of this child may or may not have been justified by the circumstances.

Let us not forget that we are dealing with a culture that thinks little of turning minors into human bombs.

Just the same, I too weep for the children.

Come on, the circumstances were a child was running away shit scared from a group of soldiers who were shooting at her. The reasons for doing it are right there in the transcript. She was in a zone that is obviously deemed as some sort of shooting gallery, "shoot anyone in the zone, even if they're three years old."

We're also talking about a culture that has been violently oppressing Palestinians for years. The issue of Israel is far from black and white. The Palestinians aren't all to blame.

And what am I being thanked for ?

The hard, ugly truth of the matter is, Pals brainwash children into thinking that dying by way of a bomb vest is worthy and noble. That's why children, yes - as young as 3 , are dressed with mock suicide vest, belts, etc....as they march in funerals or at parties. A few years ago, a young teenager was stopped at a check point. He was rigged w/ bombs, which didn't go off. The child was mentally retarded, and likely had no clue what his 'new vest' would do to him, and anyone near him, had it gone off.

Spare me any feelings of faux indignation. No one likes seeing children murdered, sent on suicide runs or caught in the cross fire. As long as we're honest about ALL that is going on, there should be room for agreement.

Everyone seems to be overlooking one key ingredient in the story. According to the article linked in this thread, the company commander responsible was court-martialed.

Civilized people and governments punish people who intentionally kill civilians, while the uncivilized and terrorists elevate them to hero status.

That's the difference.

I'd have to point out, from everything I have read through the conflict it is estimated to approximately 5 Palestians have died for every Israeli killed.....

One of the major roadblocks in the peace process it the denial that the Palestians have a hell of a right for their hate and anger, not only towards Israel, but the international community as a whole. After all... If Israel does one thing, its a matter of internal security, If Serbia does the same..... holy crap its ethnic cleansing... bomb those bastards.

For peace to take hold, everyone is going to have to eat a pile of crap because the entire issue has been handled poorly since.... Versailles at least

Never said they were. There's blame aplenty on both sides. But children younger than the one in question have been turned into human bombs before. Living in a place where such things happen might have an effect on the judgement of the best of us, is all I'm saying.

"I don't murder children." Citizen, let's agree to both pray, to whatever we each hold holy, that both sides in this misbegotten conflict can, someday soon, say that statement truthfully.

That's fair enough, your post sounded (too me) like the same thing I hear a lot, which tries to blame the Palestinians for everything while saying the Israelis are merely reacting to their evil. I believe AURaptors said something along those lines. That's not what you meant so I apologise.
