DREAMTROVE

To keep this thread RW, I'll mention that the Russians have given us warning on Iran, but of course, Putin is such a $%^&*() democrat, that he has no backbone, and said "Um.. the muslims will react, so don't invade Iran"

Never thought I'd say this, but don't you ever miss the old Soviet Union? Whatever happened to "We will bury you!" I think old ways are still best, if they oppose us on Iran, and I certianly do, then they should stand up and oppose us, not Chirac-ize.

Anyway, on a more home front, has anyone seen the first one? White Noise, movie I guess? Is this something to catch?

This is wha tthe Iraqis are used to, they are going to need a guiding hand to tell them that this is not okay. I'm not saying it has to be our hand, but ... solutions anyone?

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

Iran. Europe seems impotent and I don't see anyone begging the US to do anything. (Nor do I think it should or could ) Iran is showing every sign of not wanting to get along, so what's the world to do?

Per WZ-2, the write up sounds more like a pilot for a t.v. series than a movie. Also, I see SLITHER opens on March 31st. That's a Friday. It's also my B-Day

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

LITTLEALBATROSS

Haven't seen the first White Noise, but I would consider seeing the sequel just to see Malcolm Reynolds and Kara Thrace onscreen together.

As for invading Iran, there are much bigger potential consequences than 'the Muslims will react.'

You're sure you're not stomping for someone? I can't imagine you're this gullable. Iran is doing everything it can to get -out- of this conflict. It knows it can't do that without a bargaining chip.

I can't stand Mr. Lefty Putin, Dictator of the failed democracy of Russia, but I've got to back him up here. Iran, a nation which is no threat to anyone, has no intention of doing anything, and will be totally precluded from doing anything because of a Russian presence. I wholeheartedly support the Russian plan. Hell, they can send troops if they want, they have my okay. If our economy were in better shape I'd suggest we pay them for doing it.

Anything's better than Hillary's war plan. Women's rights are in danger, let's go kill a million people. Well, I'm sorry there's a lack of equality. But frankly, women's rights are in more danger in our ally Pakistan, and our other ally Saudi Arabia. Maybe this isn't the best arena for war. A little soft power maybe. But it's not my job to set other countries' domestic public policy, that's their job.

I really agree. I suspect China will oppose us militarily, perhaps because they said a couple years ago "If you invade Iran, we'll oppose you militarily." I have to say, commies appall me, but I like the bluntness of China. It has a certain Jayne quality. None of this "we will have to weigh options" or "we deplore your actions" just a "we intend to sell them arms in the event of a US invasion." Small mercy they said they wouldn't send chinese soldiers. Russia, no longer a commie, has lost that blunt quality which comes from not having to run for re-election. But I suspect that they may also oppose us militarily.

This may be the most hairbrained battleplan of all time. Well, of recent time. All time has some truly staggeringly hairbrained battleplans in it.

The most hairbrained battleplan of all time was probably Paraguay's decision to invade Argentina. The conflict claimed 90% of the enitre population of Paraguay, the attacker, without gaining any permanent ground.
