So here's a thread that may get the Conspiracy theorists creaming (Pirate you time is nigh).

Over here in the UK that gou shi show Big Brother has just started again to assualt our screens, and it got me thinking.

Big Brother is litterally 1984 big brother, watching all the time, while you sleep.

So is Big Brother an attempt to acclaimatise us all to the coming global police state?

Is there a shadowy puppet master behind it all, or could a mixture of everyday human greed stupidity and f*ck ups explain it all?

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!
And as you know, these are open forums, you're able to come and listen to what I have to say.

I don't think that reality TV shows are an attempt by the government to get us used to being watched all the time.

On the other hand, the government may be taking advantage of our acclimation to reality TV to chip away at our right to privacy without us noticing or caring much.

I'm with the camp of people (however small we may be) that says that the government will totally fudge any plan which is too complex or nuanced. This is one of the reasons I just can't swallow most of the 9/11 conspiracy theories. The Conspiracy Theories are all very involved and needlessly complex. I mean, some of them involve fake terrorists, and some involve planes being landed somewhere and passengers switched. Some involve missiles or small jets being used in lieu of actual jetliners. Some involve the placement and detonation of demolitions.

IF you wanted to believe that the US Government 'staged' 9/11, it would be much more logical to say that we hired real terrorists to crash real jetliners into real buildings.

But in reality, I think the evil plots of the government don't extend much beyond seizing any available opportunity to claim power. I honestly think that somewhere out there is a stack of plans. If X tragedy occurs, spin it Y to get Z effect. I believe the Patriot Act was largely written before 9/11 - not because the government knew about or planned the terrorist attacks, but because they knew that sooner or later there would be some such attack. And when it happened, they had a plan in place to spin it, use it, and monopolize on it.

I think the government is a big opportunist, and I think it is very good at noticing the occurances that it can spin.

I've been trying to find a story for that exact idea...

where people not only allow themselves to be watched, but desire to be watched - 1984 revisited with like a constant network of everybody on camera all the time, watching each other...people making money by viewership or something like that. --- if your dad was a serial killer people may want to tune in for a while and see what your life is like...did you witness a murder? how do other people apply their ass cream? I don't have a story though.

Well, you asked a really big and hard to answer question.

If it's a conspiracy, the people behind it would want to keep it secret, and I assume it would thus be hard to find evidence. (Especially if they are as rich and powerful as supposed)

OTOH it's hard to imagine that rich people just happened to end up in control of things as a group (which they are by the evidence of the structure of the various states) without some cooperation between them.

I don't know much about history, so I can't answer this. But maybe the answer lies in looking at how groups have historically taken control of countries (juntas and the like) to see if there is evidence of cooperation or collusion between powerful groups. Having specifically validated the answer either way, it could be easier to draw parallels to today.

It was more in reference to the big long rant post above that is completely devoid of any evidence whatsoever.

I'd prefer if you’re going to say the terrorists are still alive to actually back it up. Not just state it as fact. The only terrorist I know that is still alive is still alive because he didn't board the planes, so really it is of no surprise to me that he didn't die when the planes crashed, him not being on them and all.

Wreckage from the crash wasn't from a 747? Hardly surprising given the fact that the planes used weren't 747's. If the wreckage WAS from a 747 that would raise questions.

Pentagon not protected by missile defence? Apart from the obvious that the US military is way too arrogant to ever believe anyone would dare attack the Pentagon, it's hardly the norm in the western world to protect sites like the Pentagon with air defence during peace-time. I can't personally think of one site that has a permanent air defence.

More over an air defence has to be targeted, and if you want the air defence (that isn't there) targeted at every airliner that comes close to the Pentagon be prepared for a lot of planes 'falling' out of the sky.

Point is I'd kind of like a discussion rather than ranting. If I wanted ranting I'd of said "what are peoples crazy theories that they have no evidence for?"

What I don't want is ranting and raving without backing it up. Got a conspiracy theory fine, but if your going to tell me the Saucer people under the control of the reverse vampires are trying to eradicate the meal of dinner as part of a plot by the post office to make everyone eat posty brand microwave meals, then at least give some evidence that the saucer people, the reverse vampires or perhaps even the post office actually exist.

Cause jabbering on about 747 engines bore me, that and this isn't the 9/11 thread, so the post wasn't really related, unless it's being used to support an argument which is related, which it wasn't.

The problem that I have with this conspiracy is the same as I have with PN's British-Commie-Nazi-Jews, if some overarching group really controlled the world to this level the last thing they would do is rock the boat by doing something like 9/11. It's generally accepted that 9/11 dinted the US economy, why would the folks that own the government do something that cost them billions?

Further, if this is an excuse to invade Iraq then we have to assume a government capable to organising flawlessly the most intricate of black bag jobs to get permission to go to war then screwed up that war though the most amazing lack of planning and foresight in human history.

So, is US Government manic-depressive? Was 9/11 an up day and Iraq a downer?

what gives?

What about all the CCTV cameras on the high street, speed cameras on the road, cash machines, in stores and car parks? And the satellites orbiting the planet?

Are we not already part of that 'Big Brother' ethos? Aren't we already being watched enough?

Watching tv is just the modern day equivelant of the cave people watching the landscape and the sun go up or down.

The Big Brother phenomenon is another form of indirect learning too. An adult version of Cbeebies. :)

The subject here though is human behaviour.(The viewers watch it through the idiot box, see how different people work/co-exist as a group, instead of actually going out there and learning first hand in the real world.)

If it was a conspiracy, Bush (the little shit) wasn't in on it. No amount of coaching and makeup could hide the terror on his face when he addressed the US from the WH. And thanks to Michael Moore, we all got to witness his witless response in kindergaten.

The fact that Cheney was so well hidden for the next two weeks indicates it was an attack he wasn't prepared for. Which might mean he knew nothing or it was larger and more directed than he anticipated.

Here's a general question to throw into the mix.
Setting aside 9/11 if we can (by the way, were'nt there just as many conspiracy theories about Pearl Harbour? But I digress) and concentrating on the whole NWO conspiracy;
If there is a conspiracy to create a New World Order:
Why is it being perpetrated by the people who already run the world?
Why do we all know so much about it? I mean, the Skull and Bones must be the WORST secret society in the world; everyone knows it exists, pretty pointless realy.
How is it so easy to get information about it? There are thousands of websites right? Why are'nt they being shut down, even some of them?

The fact is that the world is as it has allways been, with a minority in positions of power and desperate to maintain those positions whilst the majority hold the ability to topple those in power but cant gather enough strength to do it because they are all too busy arguing about conspiracy theories.
If there is a conspiracy it's the one caused by people running around spreading conspiracy theories.

Now, my theory, my theory is that people fuck up, they do it all the time, everyone does, I fuck up you fuck up we all fuck up. We've got people who are in positions of power and they fuck up and they don't want to lose that power.

We have people who have some power, but not as much as they'd like so they kill people to get more.

These simple premises explain pretty much everything you see. People fuck up while some other people want more power and you get planes flying into buildings.

Someone else fucks up and wants a bit more power and he starts waging war on all and sundry to get it.

People fuck up. If there was a globalist conspiracy the people conspiring would have fucked it up by now. Keeping something that big and that complex a secret is simply beyond the abilities of the Human race.

But hell, maybe it is super intelligent shades of the colour blue running everything. You tell me.
