America loves a winner!

Did ya hear about the guy in India who has 2 peckers?

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

We can talk about the fact that this may very well be the shortest post you ever made, DT! What gives, cramp in the fingers?

Sick of Bush, sick of the argument. Sick of it all. Surely there's more to the world then whether or not to worship neocons.

Something else, something else....

Does Simon seem a bit too effiminate to you?

How's that?

MISBEHAVEN

Simon: I don't know. That was a pretty ballsy (not sure that's a word) thing he did rescuing River. To say nothing of planning and participating in the biggest heist the crew ever saw. I think it's more the whole "little Lord Fauntleroy" thing he's got going on with his clothes.

Simon and River: Yeah, sometimes creepifyingly (not sure that's a word either) so.

Simon, effeminite?
I don't think so no. I think next to Jayne Cobb, maybe, but he holds his own. I actually know a guy whose a doctor, and looks a lot like Simon and *is* a lot like Simon. But mainly, I think Simon is a pretty kick ass kind of guy.

I think if you took Simon and put him on the bridge of the next generation enterprise, he'd make worf look like a walking wedgie waiting to happen.

I couldn't agree more. In my estimation he's the strongest character on the ship short of Mal. The very fact that he can act with such conviction and confidence while working completely outside his usual comfort zone speaks volumes.

Yup, me three. During the series, the only time we saw Simon close to being in his comfort zone was during Ariel. You don't get to the level he got to at his young age without some steel.

Simon in his comfort zone? Think the intro to the BDM.

Although I'm not sure I would equate effeminate with weak...

Prettiness doesn't preclude manliness.
Legolas is pretty kick as, as is his alter ego, Will Turner.

CANTTAKESKY

I think everyone on the ship is both pretty AND manly. No, really. Is there an ugly one in the bunch? Even Book has a pretty good body for a man his age.

They all have backbones of steel just to be living out there like that. Not knowing where their next meal is coming from. Not knowing if they are going to be someone else's next meal. No one to rescue them from routine scumbags like Badger and Niska.

Simon and Inara may have even stronger resolve than any, since they actually have the means to live differently--and choose not to.
