I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Yes, there is a smudge of a hostile tone because I thought you were putting me in a box where I felt I didn't belong.

AFA altermate treatments... I will consider them. I've even tried them. I can't say that they've worked for me or my family but I've seen them work for others. TRUE STORY: There is a mom I've been in contact with on another bbx whose toddler fell down the stairs while in the care of an aunt. What should have been minor bumps and bruises set off an encephalopathic chain reaction. The boy was on a ventilator for a long time and wound up with swiss cheese brain and unremitting seizures. They tried everything modern medicine had to offer, but in desperation went to an elderly Chinese herbalist that they had heard of. Well, I kind of rolled my eyes privately, but... hell, I know what it's like to be desperate. The kid's seizure stopped the day he started taking the herbs. From dzoens of seizures a day to none. Aside from my jaw dropping my reaction was HOT DAMN! What's IN that stuff? Better get some more info on that magic potion b4 the elderly herbalist passes on, so that others can try it!

My point is that when/ if you have a child with a complex condition you need to set aside ALL prejudices and focus on the child. As long the treatment is successful and the success is apparent to everyone (rules out wishful thinking) then keep on doing what you're doing.

I think CTS that this is where we agree. It's good to hear that your son is doing better.

Where I gave offense, I'm truly sorry.

I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

"was in the water initially would be diluted tens of thousands times more than the intended substance"

But that would be diluted by ... water? And what about what's in THAT water? I think that was the point.

Now Rue, on the other hand...

Now CTS on the other NEVER is hostile and is only a misunderstood martyr when she posts things like this:

"6ix,

Don't take offense at these folks. They simply have a different mindset.

There are solutions and there are solutions. People who have no problems being dependent on medication ultimately have trust and faith in "the system" created by govt and the pharm industry. They trust the solution provided by this system, and see nothing wrong with dependence on it anymore than a child would see anything wrong with dependence on a parent.

Then there are people like us, who see meds as a bandaid solution forcing us to become dependent on a system we have no faith in. Because we do not trust govt or corporation, we find their solutions limiting and suspect. We look for alternative, more permanent solutions.

This is something I have learned long ago. You can't convince someone who believes NOT to believe. They will not become disillusioned unless they suffer injury or death because of the system themselves, and even then, they are likely to make excuses for it. It is the nature of faith.

We are like medical/government atheists. We can state our lack of faith in medicine and government, but we'll never be understood by those who do believe. They will always attack us. We just have to agree to disagree."

-------------------

NO ONE here fits that category, and if you feel OK with being mischaracterized and attacked that way, you are more understanding than I.

I haven't posted in a while. I don't need the stress anymore. I used to enjoy coming here, but recently I've been making myself sick. I'm ejecting myself from the RWED for a while, and possibly for good, because aside from meeting a few interesting people, I don't see anything constructive coming out of it for me, or for anyone else for that matter. I honestly get sick to my stomach now when I read some of the posts in here.

The most unfortunate thing here is the fact that it apparently looks as though I was attacking TWG personally with a comment that I had intended to be a blanket comment that was to be directed at everyone in here, and not exclusively her. I consider her an innocent bystander that got caught in the crossfire between me and a few other individuals in here. Sorry TWG for thinking that I was firing that directly at you. That wasn't my intent, but I can see how it could be read that way.

And, to whomever it was that asked, I happen to know quite a bit about Scientology. Enough to REALLY know how scary those people are. And I'm not just refering to what you may have read about it in the Enquirer or the NET since seeing Tom jumping on a couch and telling Brooke what a bad person she was for advocating pills. I've actually read Scientology books and had discussions with other Scientologists, though I've never brought myself to a church. I haven't read anything Scientology for over 5 years easily now, but I still get mailings from the Church 8 years after I originally read Dienetics. Yes, I would be lying if I didn't say that I'm quite knowledgable about them.

Of course I was kidding with that remark about Scientology, and it was only me throwing my hands up in disgust, perhaps a little childish on my part. Thanks for at least recognizing upfront that though I may have made that remark because I was a lunatic and that I didn't say it because I was stupid. BTW, I'm reasonably sure that I am sane because I question my own sanity almost daily and, from what I hear anyways, that's a prerequisite for sanity.

To everyone else, just keep your drugs away from me and don't make my decisions for me and we'll be fine. The same thing goes for any kids I have in the future. Stop being a no-good-do-gooder and look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what you can do to better yourself and help your own family. I'm sure you've got PLENTY of problems of your own. It's none of your goddamned business how I treat myself or my kids and I really wonder where the hell you get off thinking that you have any right to such opinions in the first place. Go read "It Takes A Village" on your own damn time because I don't want any part of it. Truly, you may all be wonderful people otherwise but your point of view regarding mandatory vaccinations which will inevitably lead to mandatory mind altering drugs scares the shit out of me.

I'm not normally a person who resorts to attacks, as others have even acknowledged in here, but sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by pod people in RWED...... "ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!..... and to tell you the truth, it's just downright creepy to me. Certainly I don't mean everyone in here, but some posters and their unwavering faith in anything the medical or scientific community says is true is just as scary to me as religious fanatisism.

I really want to thank you Frem and CTS... I know I'm forgetting a few others here. Thank you for at least making me feel that I'm not completely alone in this world if for nothing else. CTS.... don't let anybody tell you what's right. You have your path and you just keep going down it, no matter what they say. Frem, thank you for your intelligent insights and coming to my defense there. I've never had anybody explain the way I think and behave so on the money as you did up there. Maybe I should look into small engine repair. :) I get so frustrated with other people but you've made me realize that maybe I need to speak in a way where my audience can better understand where I come from. I hope we don't lose touch in the future. I really enjoy reading your posts.

Sorry for losing my cool and insulting almost everyone in here (what do some of you guys like to call that, an "ad-hominim attack" or some such buzzword that makes you sound smart). I realize that if I were to make comments similar to the ones that I made earlier, in the future they should really be limited to only a very select few individuals who diserve it and should not be thrown out there as a generalization. There were some valid points made on an individual basis which I didn't give credit to by doing that. There is a lot of room for middle ground on this issue and similar ones, but I don't think we're ever going to find it in here. Good luck to you all, whatever you choose to do. Maybe I'll see you around in a less hostile thread where we keep our religious beliefs and drug dependencies to ourselves and we can carry on conversations in an environment where none of us are really aware of how completely and utterly fucked up we all are.

I know how you feel, 6ix. Then one day, I decided I really like quite a few people I've met here, and how unfortunate it would be if I let one or two folks that stress me out keep me from the rest of the folks who are insightful, funny, and amazing. So I came back. But I certainly understand why you might need a good long break.

Listen, you and Frem also help me feel I'm not so alone in this world. It's a good thing to know, when you're swimming against the current. I also enjoy dialoguing with Chrisisall, Sig, Fred, SergeantX, HKCavalier, Antimason, and others because even though we don't always agree, we can discuss our differences rationally. To me, it is nice to know we aren't all the same and yet we can still exchange views.

Anyway, I hope you don't lose touch. If you want to email, you can always reach me at canttakesky@att.net .

Big hugs and a to you.
