‘Match the Hatch’ may take on a whole new meaning should scientists be correct about atmospheric water vapor on the planet 150 light years outside our solar system.

Signs of water seen on planet outside solar system

Quote:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Evidence of water has been detected for the first time in a planet outside our solar system, an astronomer said on Tuesday, a tantalizing find for scientists eager to know whether life exists beyond Earth.
Travis Barman, an astronomer at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona, said water vapor has been found in the atmosphere of a large, Jupiter-like gaseous planet located 150 light years from Earth in the constellation Pegasus. The planet is known as HD 209458b.

I am not surprised at all.

The fine folks at Stargate Atlantis have been protecting us from the Wraith menace from the Pegasus Galaxy for some time now. It's about time a little scientific truth they've uncovered has leaked out to the general population.

Honestly...I'm not surprised at all. Water is an essential element to the Universe. It's existance only here on Earth is statistically impossible. It must exist elsewhere, and here's proof.

Now, whether LIFE exists elsewhere...
