and also Kaneman......what's with the advertising of your computer's IP address? Why would this board do that to you or anyone? Isn't that just inviting potential hacking or attempted hacking into your personal computer?

Can "they" do that?....legally?...publish your IP address to the world? Don't you care, and are you doing anything about it?

You know, until this whole tag business was brought up, Kaneman was actually contributing to the discussion. I won't go as far as to say that I suppport his actions (most of the time I find them just as offensive as everyone else does), but this thread went downhill once people started to encourage him/her.

And to add my two cents, if the admins are gonna start tagging people, they need to do it equally. There are a few other posters I can think of that are just as offensive.

I have no particular points to add to the topic myself. If there is a specific product, place, job etc I think it'd be a good idea to label the problems and let people make up their own minds. (Though I'm of two minds about jobs. It IS a point that just b/c a facility says you will get silicosis doesn't mean people have a lot of choice in working there.) But when it comes to 'the commons' that kind of approach won't work. If the government says the air is dirty, what's your choice - stop breathing? Or if the ozone disappears, or the climate gets unbearable, the water is all contaminated, or suchlike.

Actually Rue, I think the sad part is that he actually waits around for us to respond to him.

I check in once, maybe twice a day; see what's up, post if I'm addressed. Personally, I'd LIKE for Kaneman to get a life and have something interesting to say. But if hammering on each other is what substitutes for human contact - well, at least there's that much in his/her life. I wouldn't want to take that away, it might be the only thing there is.

A psychologist once explained to me that when they deal with some people they try not to take away their defenses until there is something else in place. B/c those defenses are sometimes what stands between that person and an abyss. I think that's a good idea. So if it floats his/her boat ...

I was wondering what you'd do about shooting yourself in the foot. First two options are easy to think up - fix the spelling or no changes. Did it take you that long to come up with option 3?
