TAMPA - Police released taped statements from a state leader accused of trying to buy sex in a men's room. State Representative Bob Allen says he was feeling nervous and offered sex to get away from a man he didn't trust

Allen didn't know he was talking to a policeman until he pulled out a badge. He explained his behavior shortly after his arrest.

"This (undercover officer) is a pretty stocky black guy, and there's other black guys around in the park that—you know!"

Allen said he was also frightened of the weather. So he fled to the men's room.

Maybe they should remove him from the House Energy Committee and put him in charge of the war on terror.....

Sadly, I don't know who to trust. I fear and loathe cops just as much as I do politicians. Most politicians are gutless cowards, as is proven by the Dems inability to:

a) impeach Bush
b) impeach Cheney
c) end the war
d) stop funding the war
e) censure Gonzalez

even after all of their pre-election promising. They should be tarred and feathered in the streets, not only for their complete ineffectiveness, but for their seeming desire to help Bush take away even more of our civil liberties.

I have no doubt in my mind that a politican would bend over and take it in the rear just to live another day... absolute swine.

And I'll bet a huge black cop (out of uniform) propositioning him in the mens room seemed real and scary enough to make him do it. Have you seen recent video footage of what cops have been doing to people? They're animals.

Of course they are - when you give a man weapons and authority, then set him above other men without effective oversight or consequences for his behavior, the true nature of such folk shines through rather quickly, most cops are just high school jockboy taken to the Nth degree.

Contrary to Shaun Yu, I do not believe the effective measure of a man is holding him over the volcano - but rather exactly the opposite.

You wanna take the true measure of a person, simply remove ALL consequence of any kind from their actions, and then watch what they do.

The internet is interesting in that particular, as are certain social environs within it that lack effective consequence - folks like to say "but they'd never do that stuff in real life" when excusing the behavior of a communitys problem people, but the truth of it is that they would, and only fear of consequence prevents them from doing so, and thus you have a clear measure of those people, what they're REALLY like, under the veneer of social behavior they adapt offline in order to protect themselves from consequences.

Same with cops, once the consequences for behavior are removed, they can and will indulge in the kind of behaviors they WANT to, but would otherwise not indulge in because they could be taken to task for them were they just peons, rather than the enforcement arm of the elite.

All that being said, if you remove consequence from most peoples behavior, generally the most you'd get is minor selfishness and some slackery, and many folk would cause harm or misery by design to no one who is not a direct threat to them or their well-being.

Now that's most people, there are some, who in that situation would act in extremely malicious fashion, and they project it in our current society by assuming that everyone is like them and needs strict social controls to prevent that behavior, or at least prevent OTHERS from behaving that way towards THEM.... and do you know what we call the programs these people foist upon us under those assumptions ?

Governments.

None of us is as evil as ALL of US...

(EDIT: Pretty much the reason that I having a hard time not believing in God, or at the very least the very darkest passages of the Bible.... Revelations said this was going to happen a hella-long time before Huxley or Orwell said it.

'You wanna take the true measure of a person, simply remove ALL consequence of any kind from their actions, and then watch what they do.' Ok, I get that you want little or no government; however, given the above, and that the result is often behavior we consider atrocious; what do you propose to put in effect as 'consequence' for these slobs in place of 'government' given it appears many folks lack the self control you have just indicated?

To answer your question to Frem, Lead....

See how long these self serving evil people will survive on their own when society shuns them and there is no Government to step in and take care of them.

A lack of Government, by no means, is a lack of Society.

I don't buy into the Lord of the Flies*. Those boys problem wasn't a lack of structure and Government. It was a lack of women that drove them to do insane things.

*heh... I said rings, my bad...

I think you mean Lord of the Flies, Jack - and besides, those kids were already messed up from attending an emotionally abusive, strictly heirachic public school system in a currently militarised society, and their actions toward each other reflect that quite readily.

So the baseline of said behavior was already established.

I know you didn't post it here Frem, but i just wanted to make it clear that i probably do believe in God, but i haven't bought into his benevolence myself. i've been questioning his motives since my brother had a brain hemmorage when he was six years old. Strip belief of organized religion though, and there is a lot of good to it, and given many recent events in the world, there is a lot in there that was written so long ago that seems to be unfolding before our eyes today. None of it good either, I'm afraid. Considering how long ago it was written, it makes Orwell's premature visions of the future that have already come true look like childsplay in comparison.

Let's just say that I'm more likely to follow the Bible than the Government, if for no other reason than the Bible preaches free will, which is exactly the opposite of the hive-like mentality that centralized, globalized Government promotes. I belive Government to be anti anything good. Without a doubt, it's anti-individual. The fact that churches are Government sponsored through taxes irks me to no end. Government has it's tentacles just as deep in religious institutions in this country as it does the public school system. Is it any wonder it looks so bad....

A great book by Philip Jose Farmer, "Jesus on Mars" pretty much sums up what I think about the government and how it manipulates particularly the Christians on the right in this country. We've basically got that to thank for shrubs second term...
