Keep the Shiny side up

I was watching a PBS special last night, of Stevie Ray Vaughn live concert performances. It opened with Stevie Ray and the original three-piece Double Trouble at the 1982 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

They played "Pride and Joy" and "Texas Flood".

The audience booed.

Under the US Constitution anyone who boos Stevie Ray Vaughn is declared ineligible for American citizenship and is officially on notice for being a suspected piece of crap...

...said he from deep in the heart of Texas.

Oh, as opposed to the great musical taste Americans showed by shooting John Lennon?

Oh yea.....way back in 1979....Stevie Ray opened for Sammy Hagar amd REO Speedwagon at the Cal Expo Sacramento horse track. He got booo'd there too, that's domestic booo'ing of a prolific contemporary blues rock legend, and in his genre' it doesn't get any better than him.

I was furious

So I boo'd REO and Sammy, and got kicked out for throwing beer at somebody near the end of the concert.

So it CAN happen here too geezer

Blasphemy!!!

Politically Switzerland is independent of Europe (ie is not in the EU.) Further, they have the highest level of gun ownership in the world, the governmant actually gives you guns. So don't piss them off ok... remember we never found the cookoo clocks of Mass Destruction...

But the audience comes from all over Europe. I suspect that there were a lot of French people there, since Montreux is just a truffle's throw from France.

Well, how many Europeans were booing? I'm just saying, don't be criticising our musical taste when you gave the world New Kids On The Block.

As a Californian who has been to Europe several times, I must object. Remember, Switzerland borders France, the land of ten million snobbish assholes, which probably had something to do with it.

California can be bad, I'll be the first to admit, but it has nothing on France.

and its probably a good thing that firefly is not being shown in france huh?
and that not one single french person saw or enjoyed serenity.

or the french speaking people of canada or

ok - tell you what
just list all the countries and people you don't approve of -
and we'll make sure that they never get a taste of the 'verse.

we may recruit less - our FIREFLY site may get less hits -

but we'll be PURE.

Wytch, have you ever been to France? If you had, you would know exactly what I'm talking about.

Now I never said anything about keeping Frogs out of the ranks of the Browncoats, and I find it funny that you interpreted it that way, just that the majority of Frenchmen (that I've encountered) are snobbish, elitist assholes. As for French Canadians, I have no idea what they're like, but seeing as how they speak French, well... (just in case you couldn't tell, that was a joke, as was the whole premise of this thread. I for one am not going to be politically correct, so you can either waste more of your time whining about it, or you can build a bridge and get over it)

America loves a winner!

Anyone who boos SRV has no taste, what so ever.

Actually, Mark David Chapman was aiming for Yoko, and missed.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss
