Quote:Originally posted by Fletch2: I actually have some sympathy for AU's opinion in this case because he's viewing this from the perspective of the party primaries. Primaries are in effect little elections where only party members count. Viewed in that context none party members have no real say and their opinion is not being saught. Yes it's stupid, because one of the guy's (or gals) these parties select will be president at some point, so everyone has an interest in finding out more about them. However viewed narrowly this really should be a Rep on Rep bloodletting wityh open season reserved for the general election.

I personally don't care about the questioners background. I think everybody should be able to sak a question about anybody. Doing THAT will stir up more information on all the candidates, and allow each party member a more-informed primary vote. But isn't it a little misleading when a person is presented as one thing but is actually another? Maybe they should just drop any attempted description of questioner and just, yanno, discuss the issues.

Just because a Dem asks a Repub a question does not make the answer useless for Repubs. In fact, I would prefer to see Dems grilled by Repubs and vice versa- I think we'd ALL get better questions... and more useful information... that way. --------------------------------- Always look upstream.

You're confusing the GOP w/ the Democrats. Hell, Wolf Blitzer about found himself in a pair of cement boots for simply asking Hillary 1 decent, honest question about immigration. You'd have thought, from how the media recoiled, that Wolf had asked about her and Bill's sex life.
