Actually, I find it amusing, it's a bit like a WWF cage match watching those two go at it.

I think they're both equally bonkers though.

But really, doesn't everyone to some degree think they are the only sane one in a land that's just chock fulla nuts ?

Part of bein human, I guess.

Yeah, it can be very funny...

But then sometimes I feel like Kirk on Triskellion...

Those two are a few quatlloos short of a bet.
But, they do exemplify the two ends of our spectrum here, I guess.

Hero is not only sane, he also has an excellent sense of humor. I enjoy Pirate News's posts, but he needs to take a chill pill. Considering the nature of his posts, you can't blame Hero for having a little fun with them.

The difference between Hero and Piratenews is that Hero is not delusional. His point of view, while not necessarily everyone’s ball of wax, is based on a reason perspective. Priatnews is a tinfoil-hat type. I don’t know if Piratenews is just putting on a show or if he’s really a fruitcake, but certainly nothing he says can be taken seriously. I don’t even read his posts - the few that I have read have been so disjointed and delusional that I don’t know that anything intelligent can be gleaned from them. Hero on the other hand, not only has a very respectable degree of expertise in a topic, but he’s also pretty rational. Now one may not agree with his point of view, but that’s something entirely different from his point of view being delusional.

I'm not completely convinced that Pirate News isn't right about a lot of stuff, but he hasn't sold me on much either. Of course I'd like not to believe any of it becase a lot of it is just so horrible to even entertain possibly believing. I just think that desire for us to not believe that stuff lends itself to it's unbelievablility. Doesn't the idea about Murdoch and his communist wife bother you?

I give him 50/50 on what he says anyways. Just because Fux or CoNN don't report it doesn't mean that it's not true. People in power tend to be real dicks, and I wouldn't put anything past them. They're just humans like you in me, but with a lot more control over other people.

Can he work on his presentation? I think that goes without saying, sure, but I think to varying degrees the same could be said about any one of us. I know it can be said of me.

Hero on the other hand is just a dick for the sake of being a smug dick. It almost seems like everytime he opens his mouth it's just to show off to the world what a big dick he is.

We get it man. Your dick is huge, your car is fast and your money never runs out at your cushy government job. woo hoo

So truth from the mouth of a madman is...lies? So a fire alarm that occasionally goes off for unknown reasons should be entirely ignored until it has been 'certified' as fixed, even if there is smoke?
See Finn, you react, you don't absorb or process. Hero seems more reasonable, so he is. PN seems less reasonable, so he is. The fact that PN has more constructive things to add to a discussion than "Government is always right, Bush is great, the war is swell, I rule as a prosecutor, our economy is fine for me, blah blah blah" doesn't enter into it for you because PN takes more 'work' to understand, and he tends to dip into crazy anti-Jew territory a bit too much. But go ahead and label him a tin-foil type, it's what conservatives use to dismiss that which they fear to be true ("Our government would never conduct crazy experiments to create an ultimate soldier, that's tin-foil hat thinking"). I used to write him off because of his style too, but when I actually read a few posts and culled out the real stuff, I realized he had some points. Hero almost never does, except as a status-quo cheerleader (and he can deliver the funny).

I think your characterization of the thinking of most conservatives misses the mark. The reason conservatives are often quick to dismiss grand conspiracies is because we think the government is a bunch of incompetent bureaucrats, not because we trust the government. It would be inconsistent for me to believe the government is incompetent, and then give them credit for being able to pull off complicated conspiracies. I don't doubt that some in the government attempt conspiracies. What I doubt is that you could get enough government employees to take part in your conspiracy when they can just sit at their desk counting down the days to early retirement and get paid the same.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't trust the government in the slightest. I do however trust in our form of government. When half of the government is conservative and the other half liberal, I doubt they could get together on too many conspiracies.

I disagree, I think they are VERY competent- at justifying their jobs and creating new ones for their friends, and at working with corporations to help make them rich. They are also good at finding no end of wasteful use for tax dollars, including but not limited to projects like MKULTRA,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MKULTRA
and then relying on disbelief and short memory to make it all go away.

That would seem to make sense, but the conspiracies are carried out by neither- they are perpetrated by those whose political beliefs are merely greed and control.

It’s your presumption that it’s truth. You probably don’t actually believe this crap your spewing about some hidden truth in Piratenews. More likely you know his posts are delusional and since you don’t agree with Hero’s opinions on the Iraq war or the Bush administration you have created this post to attack him by comparing him to someone you know to be consistently delusional. You’re whole point here is to say, “see, you if you agree with the Bush administration your worse then a jew-hating crazy person.”

And on some level you want to believe the crazy conspiracies. They are enticingly simplistic with a certain poetic balance that the complex frightening real world lacks. It’s easier to believe the crazy conspiracy theories then it is to accept a world where dumb chance and a single bullet can change the direction of nations.

Have you ever checked into the stuff that PN posts? About 50% of any post is sheer hogwash (the Jewish-Nazi-British conspiracy part.)

Personally, I don't have the time to sort thru the crap to get to the gems. And besides, I already knew about MK Ultra, depleted uranium rounds, the Bohemian Grove, and the way that Likud sympathizers got a hold of our foreign policy for several years. But don't dismiss everything that PN says because about 30% is scarily true.

Yes. This is really just my way of saying I love Hero and I want to hop on his rod. With Valentines day coming up and all, I was hoping that he would come by around 8:00PM and pick me up for a night on the town in that fast car and he reach down into that wallet of infinity of his and spend it all wining and dining me. I would SSSSOOOOOOOO make it worth his while. And you dont' even have to wonder if you're invited in for a nightcap Hero because I'll tell you now you already are.

What say you loverboy? I hope that doesn't clash too much with your "Conservative" sensibilities. I would hate to think this beautiful relationship is over before it's even begun. Don't make a guy cry on Valentine's day.

Yes... I know I am crazy. I believe every morning when I wake up that I have gotten crazier. Some would even say that that this awareness makes me all the more sane every day. I discuss this daily with my other personalities, but we haven't come to an agreement yet. We rarely ever do on anything.

Conspiracy theories don't come from any of the idiots you see on TV. At best, those idiots are only pawns in the game, just like the rest of us. You don't even know the names of he puppet masters and you never will. Nor do I or will I. Nor do most (possibly all) government officials in the public eye either. There is no-one micromanaging every little thing we do. The control couldn't possibly ever have gotten that deep (although I fear it may when we're a cashless society and technology makes it fiscally possible). There are just hands that guide the collective this way or that, and plenty of chance is involved and a single bullet can change the direction of the nation. The scope of the concentrated power is such though that even the death of JFK, which may not have been a conspiracy at all, was just a blip on the radar for the hands that rule the world.

The truth is that someday, probably in a lot of our lifetimes, technology will have made that leap to be at the point that everything we do is tracked 24/7. Will this be used benevolently, or as a means of tyranny? Will we even care when we're all drugged up on soma and riddled with ADD? Guess that all depends on the temperment of the puppet masters.

Everyone here in Jack's head hopes for all of our sakes they're nicer than we are.

This game is infinately cool Frem. Funny how the puppet masters have done such a good job pitting the big two races here against each other for so long... somewhat like a game of Go, don't you think?

What a strange coincidence you would point this out to me today. It was only about 2 weeks ago that I discovered a little gem of an arcade game from Japan that I had on my XBox that was this very game. I had never heard of it or played it until then. The title of the arcade escapes me, but I do believe that either "Go" or "Goe" were in the title. Thanks for letting me know the real name of it.

I wonder if they have this on Yahoo games or anything. Maybe we should get together sometime on Yahoo and have a Go at it.

Haha.... My first pun on RWED. You can all feel free to stone me to death now.

The answer is yes.

Also:

"In truth, the insane deny their insanity, which only proves them to be demented. The sane, however, deny this as well, which also proves them to be demented. Those that accept their insanity are truly sane, and it is our sad duty to watch over you all and take the scissors away from you, if only to use them on ourselves. Because we want out of this thing you call 'life' much more than you do, and damned if you're getting out before us."
