Jumpin' Jesus President Bush!..Can you go one day without humiliating yourself and America?...Just one day pal?

Yesterday's gems :

1) Bush, while in Israel, says "he envisions a democratic Middle East, free of oppression." Wow! Who would'a thunk it? Was he a finalist in the Miss Tel Aviv beauty pageant or something? Talk about being totally delusional!

2) Then he tells the Israelis..." for Israel to allow Iran to obtain nukes would be an un-forgiveable sin for their future generations". What???..Is he now giving them carte blanche to attack Iran? Does he send that signal with Olmert in ruins and Netanyahu in the wings?

3) He says on the news "I'm giving up playing golf out of respect for our military men & women". Oh George!....don't destroy your lifestyle out of some crazy little thing called guilt...Go ahead, play golf...the 1000's of soldiers with one or no legs will gladly be your caddy, big daddy!

At least Nixon had the decency to resign after so disgracing the office of the President... But, hey - he IS giving up golf! Wow, and we all thought we wouldn't have to make any sacrifices in this war...

[That was sarcasm, Finn. I'm sure you've heard of it. ]

Did you catch Olbermann last night? Oh yeah, Bushie was filmed playing golf a month after the day he claims to have given it up. In fact, Keith's special commentary to W was particularly good:

"The war in Iraq, your war, Mr. Bush, is about how you accomplished the derangement of two nations, and how you helped funnel billions of taxpayer dollars to lascivious and perennially thirsty corporations like Halliburton and Blackwater, and how you sent 4,000 Americans to their deaths for nothing.

It is not, Mr. Bush, about your golf game! And, sir, if you have any hopes that next Jan. 20 will not be celebrated as a day of soul-wrenching, heart-felt thanksgiving, because your faithless stewardship of this presidency will have finally come to a merciful end, this last piece of advice:

When somebody asks you, sir, about Democrats who must now pull this country back from the abyss you have placed us at ...

When somebody asks you, sir, about the cooked books and faked threats you foisted on a sincere and frightened nation …

When somebody asks you, sir, about your gallant, noble, self-abnegating sacrifice of your golf game so as to soothe the families of the war dead.

This advice, Mr. Bush: Shut the hell up!"

Hell yes he should.

You want that office, that power, that responsibility - then you damn well should resign yourself to being the american peoples bitch for four fekkin years.

And by intent, that office is supposed to be paid minimum wage, to boot.

And while we're on the subject, look how MUCH of his time in office he spends fucking around instead of doing his job, and then compare it to previous presidencies.

Go on, check - it's fucking apalling, especially as screwed up as things are.

I suppose the George haters would have rather he sat back like a Democrat wimp and let Sadam continue his reign. Sure glad that didn't happen.

His lame, politically correct statements are better for the sheep than what actually needs to be stated. "The Islamic world needs to be given an ultimatum, stand down all warlike activities or prepare for a state of war on a global scale. It's what the planet needs, it's the obvious solution to a problem that is only going to escalate and continue to infect modern civilization unless it opens it's policies to substantial changes to cope with the future. If they are not willing to change their primitive ideals, the only answer with the future of Planet Earth in mind, is to be annihilated like the virus they have become."

I love Christopher Hitchens attitude toward these (warlike islamic) slime. In a speaking appearance he was addressing how they all want to be martyrs, with perfect poise and timing with a sly grin he said, "well, I'm here to help". A significant moment and the audience lost all vocal control....it was awesome.

Hell, is it too much to ask that the President of the United States spend at least as much time at his "day job" as I do at mine?! Fer fuck's sake, the man works less than most part-time workers, yet he gets better health care and benefits than ANY full-time employee, anywhere.

For what he gets when he's done, hell-goddam-yes he should be on duty 24/7/365. That's the job he signed up for. Instead, he spends three to four MONTHS every single year on vacation. Nixon at least used to roam the halls whacked out on booze and amphetamines, always working, always working... ;)

I wouldn't confuse valid criticism of Bush's assinine statements with someone becoming schitzophrenic. The vast majority of Bush supporters from 2000 & 2004 feel the same way about Bush. They feel betrayed that he's destroyed the Republican Party; look who's running for President, John McCain. He's not even a Republican for Christ's sake. He was the original endorsed candidate of the NY & LA Times! Suck on that for a spell. Repubs feel that he's been negligent in getting Bin Laden, and incompetant beyond the pale in Iraq & Afghanistan. Time to kiss his ass goodbye!

I just looked at the latest poll numbers and you are incorrect, two thirds of Republicans still support Bush in the latest polls. A pretty decent base considering the downturn in the economy. Those "conservitives" abandoning Bush think the dems are going to win the Presidency and are positioning themselves so they are in the "in crowd". They want to make sure they get invited to the cocktail parties after the election where they can be with other sheeples. McCain isn't the greatest Republican candidate ever, but anyone who would vote for Obama, or allow him to win by not voting, never was a conservative in the first place.

Actually, yes, I would have preferred that. Democratic governments are inherently chaotic, simply because of the fact that you have so many people, each with their own agenda, trying to set policies most beneficial to them.

Saddam was brutal and repressive, but he was predictable. We could have worked with him if we showed him it was in his best interests. In fact we did work with him before he went off the deep end with Kuwait.

Leaving him in power was one of the best decisions Bush senior made. We ripped out his teeth during Desert Storm, eliminating the threat he posed to the international community, but left him with the means to maintain order, leaving a solid obstacle to Iran's growing power, and preventing Iraq from turning into the clusterfuck that it is today.

Dictators in general are easy to deal with so long as you are in a position of power over them, and can make great allies if you make it worth their while.

Exactly. Bush The First made a start at heading to Baghdad to take down Saddam, and then he or his senior aides thought hard about it, and realized that, although Saddam was a murdering asshole, he was in a position to "keep the peace" in Iraq, if that's even an acceptable thing to say. In a recent post, it was pointed out that Iraqi-on-Iraqi deaths since our invasion and occupation shouldn't really be counted as "war dead" because they weren't killed by US forces. That's bullshit - they're dead as a result of our invasion, and a hell of a lot fewer of them would be dead under Saddam's murderous regime. As bad as it was under Saddam, it is now WORSE in Iraq for the average Iraqi. And we have Bush The Liberator to thank for that. I hope the rest of his days are haunted by the ghosts of the Iraqi & American dead as a direct result of his actions.

Surely, you're joking, right ? Fancy parties? Galas ? Receptions ? . W's been known since he got to D.C. as the most boring, least socializing, gala throwing President in recent memory. I think it could be argued that anyone who supported Bush for the last eight years - or at least the last four - was never a conservative in the first place, either. The "conservatives" didn't abandon Bush; he abandoned THEM. He came in with a mission. As Grover Norquist put it, conservatives - and especially the neo-conservatives "want to shrink government down to the size where you could drown it in a bathtub." And is that what Bush has done? Not exactly... At every turn, he's increased the size and scope of the government.

You don't see even a little bit of disconnect in # 3 there? Oh-KAY! In that spirit, I have an announcement to make:

Quote:

A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT FROM KWICKO:

I'm announcing today that, in a show of support for our men and women serving in the military in these perilous times, I'm going to stop eating turnips until the War on Terror is over and our brave and valiant troops have come home.

There; that should give them the boost they need to finish the job once and for all. Who knows how long this bloody war would have gone on if I hadn't given up turnips?

Bush seems to be showing signs of early-onset Altzheimer's (or "Old-Timer's Disease", as we call it), although how you'd measure a loss of brain activity in that head is beyond me.

I envision Bush's Cabinet meetings going something like this:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs: "Mister President, the United States has again come under attack."

President Bush: "Get me a sitch-ee-ay-shun repor- Ooooh - Pancakes! Gotta go!"

Actually, the neo-conservatives are quite happy with big government. That's part of what makes them "neo". Their enthusiasm for activist government, especially in foreign affairs, is their hallmark.

If anything, Bush abandoned small government conservatives in favor of the neo-conservatives, especially after 9/11.

Kirk, I know where you're coming from, but it's not the truth at all.
I never said I support Obama now or ever, and I'm not blowing with the prevailing political wind. I've never been one who desires to be "popular" and I have never been much of a joiner. I have been critical of Bush & Co. for a few years now....yes I've defended and supported his Admin in the past, but I've also stood against and written against a lot of what they've done. Sometimes you gotta cut your losses and regroup. I agree with the person who wrote that Bush has destroyed the Republican Party. In your worst nightmare you never could have imagined having McCain as the Republican candidiate for President, could you? Face it, the country is f-'d up on so many levels now. To continue to have faith & loyalty is admirable in its' own right, but I have to call them as I see them now.

Dunno about the golfing, but do you honestly have a problem w/ bike rides ?? Seems like a healthy activity, imo. Folks still have to continue living, even in times of war. Being at the Ranch is no different than being in D.C., operationally speaking. And where are you getting the info that he's not participating in cabinet meetings ? I fail to see where the issue is. if he played ONE golf game after he swore it off, big deal. Maybe he had a prior engagement and felt obligated to play it out. I can't fault a man for that. I swear, some of you act as if golf is some revered sport, which only Kings and CEO's play. It's really no big deal. I play golf. Well, on occasion I play golf, not that I'm any good at it. I fail to see it as a substantive issue.

Oh wait ! The country's in the crapper and all you can do is defend bikes rides, golf, and long vacations ?? A resounding and convincing argument, that. Not.

C'mon...you "fail to see it as a substantive issue"? You? The guy who rails on and on about what Obama's PREACHER says?

Like I noted earlier, I'm just floored by the total disconnect inherent in it. "I'm going to show my support for the troops by not playing golf." Reeeeeeeeeealllly. Yup, that should work. How the hell does that show your support for ANYTHING, other than your support for not playing golf?

If Kerry had said he was going to show his support for America by not going wind-surfing, you lot would have shit kittens trying not to outdo yourselves with the funny. And the thing is, you'd have been RIGHT, because it would have been a stupid thing to say, and stupider (pardon my language) still do actually DO.

I hear you Jongs, but for me faith and loyalty has nothing to do with it. I've always been an independent voter and have no bond whatsoever to the Republican party. Sure I have almost always voted Republican, but what were my alternatives, Dukakis, Gore or Kerry. Makes it pretty easy to vote Republican with a clear conscience when you look at the alternatives. The dems have nothing to offer this country except take from the rich and give to the poor socialism. If people want big daddy government to take care of them, then they should vote democrat, otherwise there's only one other alternative. You have got to realise that there are no true conservatives left in politics, there's just professional politicians. If you can get someone like McCain that you agree with 50% of the time, that's better than 0% from Obama. Yes, someday conservatives will take control of the Republican party again, but in the mean time we've got to minimize the damage someone like Obama could do to this country. Even if McCain turns out to be a fiscal liberal like Bush , there won't be nearly as much damage to undo after he serves as there would be for Obama. If I can prevent one new tax increase, bureaucracy or useless regulation by voting for McCain it will be worthwhile. I'll give Obama credit for at least being honest about what he will do to this country if elected. Some may think we need change, but the changes he purposes scare the shit out of me, and they would scare everyone else if it wasn't for his charisma and their hatred of Bush.

I say let the Dems have the country for a while. Let them have the wars, and the media, and the ACLU, and the Gays, and the Illegals, and the UN, and the whole fucking terrorist-loving, America-hating suicidal shitty world.

You know, that would almost make sense if we could convince everyone over the next 4 years that it's all the dems fault. Problem is, the more they screw things up the more people become dependent on big government. Why do you think they like big government, it makes people dependent on them. Four years from now they'll have solidified a huge base of people standing around waiting for their next government handout.

And what was the country that Bush inherited ?

Great economy, strong dollar, government paying down its debt, respected around the world, enough for everyone at home including illegals, tolerance, constitution and personal freedoms intact, and a bead on the very few really nasty people - which is why Bush got specific warnings about 9/11.

Yeah, it took only a few years for Bush to undo ALL that. You gotta love the people who think all that Bush did was a good thing.

Bush didn't undo ANY of that. There was no "bead" on the really nasty people, and no, there were no ' specific' warnings per 9/11. Our personal / constitutional freedoms are the same as they ever were. The delusions folks must hoist in order to maintain this illogical jihad against W seems to know no end, and clearly no bounds w/ in reason.

I've got no real love for the Republican Party, but the democrats are, for lack of a better descriptor, "fucknuts". They are arguably the biggest collection of incompetents and nutjobs the world has ever seen. Now, don't get me wrong, they're not all retards. Obama, for example. I find him to be highly intelligent, and very well spoken, if fairly naive in his worldview. But the majority are a bunch of idiots.

Now, don't think that means that I'm fully on the Republican side, 'cause I feel the same way about a lot of them, but the have their shit together a lot more often than the dems. They have a strong track record of competent politicians, marred only by a few like Bush Junior and Reagan (though for some reason, there seems to be a "Cult of Reagan" amongst Republicans, for little more than having the luck to be in office when the Soviets destroyed themselves), while the Democrats have a solid history of putting idiots in office, broken only occasionally, like with Clinton (And even that one is debatable).

You saying "let the Dems have the country for a while" is tentamount to saying "well, it doesn't look like things could get much worse, so lets try to fuck up the country even more!"

And "terrorist-loving, America-hating suicidal shitty world"? Really? Keep in mind, your words are the only gauge the rest of us have for your intelligence, and, I have to tell you, those 'uns weren't very well picked. To put it succinctly, they make you sound bonkers. If you don't want to sound crazy, think about what you write a little more. And if you do, well, more power to ya, then, I guess.
