Quote:Abbie Bernstein: Do you believe a government can be shamed into or out of what it's doing by the actions of individuals? Joss Whedon: The idea was to say that people can make a difference, they can show the wrongs that are being done. They can speak out against them and make people aware of them. They can even create giant scandals. Sometimes they can topple governments. The point is that the truth is always more important than the power structure, and whether you make a dent or not, the fact that you succeeded in trying is a victory. -Serenity - The Official Visual Companion, page 35

Quote:Gwatney's killer, Timothy Dale Johnson of Searcy, was shot dead by police after a 30-mile chase into Grant County. Police investigating the shooting said they had so far not found any link between Johnson and Gwatney. Police said Johnson, 50, owned at least 16 guns, had antidepressant pills and made out a will before shooting Gwatney. He had driven there more than 30 miles after losing his job at a Target store over some graffiti written on a store wall. The name "Gwatney" and a telephone number were written on a Post-It note found in Johnson's home, police said. They wouldn't say whether the number matched the Democratic headquarters or a Gwatney-owned car dealership, if either. "Those are things we're investigating. Right now we don't have any indication of motive as far as it deals with Mr. Gwatney," Little Rock police Lt. Terry Hastings said. Until Wednesday morning, when he wrote profanity-laced graffiti on a store wall and was questioned by supervisors, Johnson had been a good employee in a stockroom, Target spokeswoman Brie Heath said Thursday. This undated photo released by the Little Rock Police Department shows a man identified by the police as Timothy Dale Johnson. (AP Photo/Little Rock Police Dept)"This was different behavior for him," Heath said. "The manager asked him if he needed to talk. At that point he turned in his badge and left the building." His behavior was alarming enough Wednesday that the company had called police about it. According to Conway police spokeswoman Sharen Carter, Target fired Johnson before 8 a.m. Wednesday because he had written on a wall. A manager had called police because of an "extremely irate" employee, Carter said. The graffiti, including "Target is run by dumb jocks and sorority w-----," had already been cleaned and Johnson had left by the time officers arrived. http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=34197

Voluntary reports of adverse events in patients taking PAXIL that have been received since market introduction and not listed above that may have no causal relationship with the drug include acute pancreatitis, elevated liver function tests (the most severe cases were deaths due to liver necrosis, and grossly elevated transaminases associated with severe liver dysfunction), Guillain-Barré syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, priapism, syndrome of inappropriate ADH secretion, symptoms suggestive of prolactinemia and galactorrhea, neuroleptic malignant syndrome–like events; extrapyramidal symptoms which have included akathisia, bradykinesia, cogwheel rigidity, dystonia, hypertonia, oculogyric crisis which has been associated with concomitant use of pimozide; tremor and trismus; serotonin syndrome, associated in some cases with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs and with drugs which may have impaired metabolism of PAXIL (symptoms have included agitation, confusion, diaphoresis, hallucinations, hyperreflexia, myoclonus, shivering, tachycardia, and tremor), status epilepticus, acute renal failure, pulmonary hypertension, allergic alveolitis, anaphylaxis, eclampsia, laryngismus, optic neuritis, porphyria, ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia (including torsade de pointes), thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemia, events related to impaired hematopoiesis (including aplastic anemia, pancytopenia, bone marrow aplasia, and agranulocytosis), and vasculitic syndromes (such as Henoch-Schönlein purpura). There has been a case report of an elevated phenytoin level after 4 weeks of PAXIL and phenytoin coadministration. There has been a case report of severe hypotension when PAXIL was added to chronic metoprolol treatment. PAXIL has not been systematically studied in animals or humans for its potential for abuse, tolerance or physical dependence. Based on the mechanism of action of paroxetine and the potential for serotonin syndrome, caution is advised when PAXIL is coadministered with other drugs or agents that may affect the serotonergic neurotransmitter systems, such as tryptophan, triptans, serotonin reuptake inhibitors, linezolid (an antibiotic which is a reversible non-selective MAOI), lithium, tramadol, or St. John's Wort (see Serotonin Syndrome). A multiple-dose study has shown that there is no pharmacokinetic interaction between PAXIL and lithium carbonate. However, since there is little clinical experience, the concurrent administration of paroxetine and lithium should be undertaken with caution. www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/parox_ad.htm www.quitpaxil.info "The most stunning statistic, however, is that the total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936 per year. Quote:"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, four princes and other Saudi entities are immune from a lawsuit filed by victims of the September 11 attacks and their families alleging they gave material support to al Qaeda, a federal appeals court ruled on Thursday. The ruling by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan upheld a 2006 ruling by U.S. District Judge Richard Casey dismissing a claim against Saudi Arabia, a Saudi charity, four princes and a Saudi banker of providing material support to al Qaeda before the September 11 attacks. The victims and their families argued that because the defendants gave money to Muslim charities that in turn gave money to al Qaeda, they should be held responsible for helping to finance the attacks. The appeals court found that the defendants are protected under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act. The court also noted that exceptions to the immunity rule do not apply because Saudi Arabia has not been designated a state sponsor of terrorism by the U.S. State Department." -Edith Honan, News Daily, U.S. court rules Saudi Arabia immune in 9/11 case, 14 August 2008 http://www.newsdaily.com/stories/n14486123-saudi-lawsuit/ In re Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001, 06-0319-cv(L), 14 August 2008 http://www.ca2.uscourts.gov:8080/isysnative/RDpcT3BpbnNcT1BOXDA2LTAzMTktY3Zfb3BuLnBkZg==/06-0319-cv_opn.pdf#xml=http://www.ca2.uscourts.gov:8080/isysquery/irlb014/1/hilite
