Keyword is MIGHT, suckers. Trying to get the 3rd party vote. Biden and Obama didn't do squat to investigate Bush for 8 years in Congress. Pelosi won't do squat NOW.

Didn't Biden/Obama sign the U.S.A.P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act without reading it, written before 9/11 by Commie Vietnamese citizen Viet Dinh?

Quote:

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said earlier this week that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden's comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

When asked during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, whether he would "pursue the violations that have been made against our Constitution by the present administration", Biden answered in the affirmative.

"We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offence that's occurred," he continued, going on to praise congressional committees for the deliberate pace of their inquiries into alleged Bush administration misdeeds.

Members of Congress are "doing the right thing, they're not making false accusations about anything … they're collecting data, subpoenaing records, they're building a file", Biden said.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued – not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president -- no one is above the law."

Obama sounded a similar note in April, vowing that if elected, he would ask his attorney general to initiate a prompt review of Bush-era actions to distinguish between possible "genuine crimes" and "really bad policies".

"If crimes have been committed, they should be investigated," Obama told the Philadelphia Daily News. "You're also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt, because I think we've got too many problems we've got to solve."

When asked about his comments by Fox news today, Biden said he has no evidence that criminal charges would be warranted and no intention of pursuing action against the current president.

"What is true is the United States Congress is trying to preserve records on questions that relate to whether or not the law has been violated by anyone," Biden said, adding: "But, you know, there's been an awful lot of unsavoury stuff that's gone on. And the mere fact … that it occurred in a previous administration doesn't mean [a subsequent] Justice Department, if, in fact, there's evidence, shouldn't pursue them. "But I have no evidence of any of that. No one's talking about pursuing President Bush criminally."

But the Bush/Obama Dept of Justice has no problem prosecuting ME for the "crime" of "driving safely without crashing", threatening me with 6 months jail and $5,000 fine (true for ALL fed traffic tickets), then stealing my Social Security disability pension, and stealign my wife's military pension.

But if I'd mass murdered millions of people and stolen trillions of dollars, and overthrown USA, that's NOT a crime, according to FBI, USDOJ, Congress and White House.

Rap, you post that picture just to show how indoctrinated into the smear machine you are?

By now you know why he was wearing that garb, is it really that you're fine with dishonest portrayals when it comes to winning an election?

Not that it's a surprise, but you're really wearing your lack of integrity on your sleeve here...

or did you post that because you thought that was a fine picture of a leader who respects his hosts when abroad?..yeah, that must be it

He should, not so much cause it will actually accomplish much regarding the damage Bush has done, but as a preventative measure.

Every time, the figureheads go down like the Titanic and the same rats, hide in the same holes, and come back for more later, just like when Ford gave Nixon a pardon, or when Harding conveniently capped it...

To hell with Shrub, grab Cheney, Rove and Feith - Cheney and Rove are too kinky to bother torturing, but Feith is a little too talkative for a good conspirator will crack if you're holding the other two cause he KNOWS they'll sell him out.

At which point he'd sing like a canary on euphorics.

And then you get them ALL, and for a while, the shit stops, especially if you make sure Kissinger has an "accident".

But Obama ain't gonna do that, he's just a nice young guy in a suit with good intentions, something all the roads to hell are paved with, and not a lot of experience with the darker end of politics... yet.

Meh, Chris, actually the most logical route to eliminating the threat these cretins pose is to give the alphabet agencies who've played along with them the impression that one or more of them is in custody and talking.

At which point the rest will no doubt have an unrelated and purely coincidental rash of unfortunate accidents.

Dead men tell no tales, ask ole Bill Colby about that, yes ?

And it *would* end the threat from the PNAC-NeoCon-CleanBreak-Likud crowd, at least for a while.

Obama wouldn't do it, but I wonder if Biden has the nerves and intel connections to pull it off, hmm...

He could, he would, and he'd be shining them big ol' pearly whites while he did it.

And if he did it right, nobody - including Obama - would ever even know it was him doing it.

I saw him answer this question on FOX and Friends to clarify his original statement on ABC.

He said they would not charge the President or members of the administration with a crime...unless they do.

My suggestion for Bush is simply blanket pardon everybody on the way out the door. "Thanks everybody, reunion in five at the Library...leave you parking pass at the gate and pick up your pardon at the door."

Reagan did that with the Iran-Contra folks. Clinton did it too...but more as a fundraising tool.

That means the only person they could charge with a crime is Bush...since conventional wisdom is you can't pardon yourself (although legally I don't see why not).

I love pardons, wrote my bigass lawschool paper on pardons. I concluded that the power is both absolute and broad. Clinton could sell pardons...use them for his wife's political gain...anything. I suggested that they be used to enact tax reform. You want to eliminate Capital Gains, but that pesky Congress getting in your way...blanket pardon everybody who refuses to pay the Capital Gains Tax. I sent the idea off to Bush in 2001 after I finished my paper...never heard back.

BTW, I'm now on my former undergraduate University's Legal Studies Advisory Board. Ooops, forgot to put Republican/Conservative on my resume. I wonder how I missed that.

I can help you with that.

Is it a computer chair? Cause if so you can sue the manufacturer for making a defective product. But for the insufficiency of the chair's design you would not have been injured. There you are minding your own business reading messages on your computer when you read a legitimately funny post at which point the chair failed to function as designed. I bet there's no warning label or anything. And make no mistake...there's a lot of funny stuff on the internet...its reasonable to foresee that a person using that computer chair would read something funny. They failed to consider that in the design or warn against their chair's danger should that occur. That is very actionable...very.

Were you at work...cause then we're talking workman's comp. Please tell me you are at a private internet cafe or surfing a big chain wireless connection like Starbucks or McDonalds...

How does your neck feel?
