Me- I could kick Hero's ass, cause he's soft- all he does is talk & cook steaks on his BBQ.

I could kick Finn's ass 'cause his martial art training is formal, & he likes structure; I'd break his knee while he thought I was merely ducking a punch.

I could kick Signy's ass, 'cause she's a girl- Rue too, however, if they double teamed on me I'd be a goner.

I could not kick Frem's ass, that's for sure and that's for certain (he sneaks guns into fistfights).

I could kick Citizen's ass as long as it was early & he was suffering a severe hangover.

I could wipe the floor with AURaptor, period.

I couldn't even touch HKCavalier; he'd pull out that line from Buckaroo Banzai I'm so partial to.

Please give us your fight predictions at this tiiiime!

Heh, my days of fisticuffs were well and over many a year ago, but it's no matter.

But before I realised that a fight which didn't result in a visit to the trauma ward didn't never solve nothing, I was more like Mal, too damn stubborn to quit until I was unconscious.

I still say he woulda took the Operative if Inara hadn't broken that up, all that fancy shit will wear a guy out quick, at which point he's just easy meat, Mal woulda wore him down and then finished him off up close where all them sweeping moves do ya no good.

But anyhows, if one was paying attention, one might have noticed a theme there of gettin other folk to do my dirty work, often without them even knowin it.

The best way to handle would-be tough guys is to sidle up to em all friendly like, stroke their ego till they need to feed it, and gently guide them into taking on someone you *know* will rip them limb from limb, and then when they come to you for sympathy, all weak, battered, cussin fate and telling fables about how you should see the other guy....

That's when YOU deliver the curb stomp as a coup de gras.

I learned kungfu from a real kungfu master, fresh off the boat from China. I kid you not. Supposedly I learned the “real kungfu,” not “American kungfu.” And I learned the “most deadliest kungfu.” These are his words, not mine. Now personally, all I remember learning is very slow and methodical motions, like what most people would think of as Tai Chi. So while I might have learned the most deadliest kungfu, I can only fight people if everyone moves in slow motion.

I’m not a fighter. I learned that playing hockey. That’s why I learned to dance. So if you want to have a battle of rhythm on the dance floor, you’re on. I can Swing, Cha Cha, Rhumba, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Salsa, etc.

But if you want to actually fight, well then…experience tells me that you probably will kick my ass.

Mal didn't follow the rules. He shot the Operative, but didn't make sure he was finished. Never leave an enemy behind you that you aren't sure is hors de combat. "Bullet to the brainpan" would have been effective. This is a major fallacy in so many movies, both action and horror.

As for me, I ain't gonna kick nobody's ass. "Run away" is always plan A. Plan B involves BTTB, as noted above.

Sure, you could do that. And I do talk and cook steaks...talk to cops, cook steak for cops...

So that means that my friends with badges, guns, and tasers would take it personally. They'd arrest you for assault, escort you to the ground, ask you to stop resisting (and you'd be resisting no matter how cooperative you were). Taser, strip search, sweaty cellmate sex, court, jury, conviction, jail, civil action, judgement, debtor, and me...laughing last.

Ha, ha, ha...

Or, I'd shoot you. I'd feel bad about it...but you came at me with a knife (and there'd be a knife), I had no choice.

I don’t know about steel-toed dress shoes, but I’ve never understood why women insist up on wearing those opened toed stiletto heels. They look awfully uncomfortable. The thing to do is get yourself some comfortable practice shoes or jazz shoes and don’t worry about anyone else’s toes. If he’s leading correctly, there shouldn’t be any problem, if he’s not he will when his toes get sore enough.

You know, it all started for me back in kindergarten.

Maybe it was all that running around barefoot in summer, or maybe it's my 100% Polish peasant background, but I have really wide feet. I remember my mom talking to the saleswoman at the shoe store (the umpteenth one we'd been to that day trying to find shoes - any shoes - for kindergarten that fit) saying - forget the shoes, I'll take the boxes.

Each autumn was a shoe ordeal, and each autumn I got to pick another pair of saddle shoes. Oh goody. Meanwhile the other girls all got to wear those really shiny pretty patent leather shoes.

Eventually I went to a public school where they let kids wear - sneakers ! (To this day I get the men's wide ones because they fit, whereas even the widest women's ones don't.)

Well, when you can't wear pretty shoes, why wear the pretty dresses ? Fortunately the 60's were also a revolution in clothing style. My sneakers fit right in with what everyone else was wearing.

So, I never really did connect with the shoe thing. Or the fashion thing. Or being traditionally feminine.

Making a virtue out of a necessity: maybe that's how I ended up a scientist in a traditionally male field making really good money. Maybe it was all for the best.

At the ballrooms, dancehalls, jam-parties and nightclubs I frequent, I notice many heroes sitting in the corner or holding up the wall...as I dance with their girlfriends and wives.
