I suppose some of you get the point I'm making here.

I have to say I'm yet again impressed with Ron Paul's efforts to have a positive influence on the political process. He pissed off more than a few hardcore libertarians by teaming up with their iconic boogeyman (Ralph Nader), but it's exactly the kind of thing that needs to happen. The future of our country is more important than maintaining ideological purity.

For those of you affected by the media blackout, Ron Paul is calling for a coalition of third party candidates centered around four core issues that are all but ignored by the major parties:

Foreign policy - end expansionist policies.
Privacy rights - repeal the Patriot Act et.al.
Deficit spending - if war is truly necessary, then we should be willing to pay for it.
Federal Reserve - corporate manipulation of the economy.

Real change related to these issues is completely off the table in our single party political system. In the face of these overriding issues, the ideological differences of the 'third parties' are moot. We can argue about seat-belt laws and environmental regulation after we take back our country from the corporate war machine.

Oh yes, Sarge, and Barr just totally shot himself in the foot recently as well.

Firstoff there's the plain and simple fact that they initially stuffed him in the role in opposition to over 80% of their own, for those who remember.

Then there's the fact that he's an ambitious little prick who will sell out the core principles in a heartbeat.

And the fact that they took money from the pervert lobby.

But worst of all, he wanted Ron Paul to come on as Veep ?! gawd what was he smoking, Barr would have to up his game and actually stick to his principles (as a former drug-war supporter, I doubt he really has any) for more than five minutes when someone waves coverage or cash in his face for dropping them to be RP's Veep.

Of COURSE Ron cut him off at the knees, especially after being nastily blown off by Barr somewhat earlier.

And now Barr and his pack of handlers insulating him from us mere peons are throwing the political temper tantrum of the denied would-be tyrant, of course.

And then tried to delete and deny, oh foolish folks, that's not how the internet works anymore.

But what REALLY killed em, good and proper, was THIS statement, resulting in the aforementioned delete and deny policy.

"Since ending his Presidential campaign, though, Ron Paul has gone from being the hope for America to being a major obstacle to the message of freedom and the Constitution."

Ain't it a bitch Fergie, that folks are quick with that copy/paste function these days ?

To even SAY such a thing about Ron Paul is a shoveljob of epic proportions, especially when coming from a pack of former jackboot snugglers like the ones Barr has surrounded himself with.

Hey Barr ?

Never liked him anyways.

Huh. first I heard of it.

There's reason why I come to this board, and that's a good example. For more, see here:
