Quote:

Palin – the Devil in disguise

The candidate for the Vice Presidency of the United States of America, whose experience in small town politics, mothers´day dos and the local hockey club is her claim to fame, threatened to open the gates of Hell by attacking Russia in the event of another invasion of Georgia in a televised interview on ABC (shown today). One question for this self-opinionated upstart: Do you know what a nuclear holocaust is?

Sarah Palin, Mrs. Nobody know-it-all shreiking cow from Alaska, the joke of American politics, plied with a couple of vodkas before letting rip in front of incredulous audiences while McCain coos in the background, cuts a ridiculous figure as she strives to be taken seriously.

How can anyone whose husband is a member of the Alaska Independence Party and who is running for the Vice Presidency of the Union be taken seriously? How indeed can the Republican Party be taken seriously for not vetting this female, or have they not yet discovered the skeletons in her closet? We have.

So Sarah Palin, Mrs. Hockey Mom housewife-cum-small-town gossip merchant and cheap little guttersnipe, suppose you shut up and allowed real politicians and diplomats to do their work? Threatening Russia with a war is perhaps the most irresponsible thing anyone could do at this moment in time. Have you any idea what a nuclear holocaust is? Have you any notion of the power of Russia’s armed forces? Did you know that Russia has enough missiles to destroy any target anywhere on Earth in seconds?

And have you not forgotten, you pith-headed little bimbo from the back of beyond, that small detail about the slaughter of Russian citizens by Georgians, which started the whole debacle? So next time suppose you keep your mouth shut and while you’re at it, make sure the members of your family keep their legs shut too. Your country has enough failed mothers as it is.

I don't disagree with any particular point, sir...

I wonder if they'll tell us how the REALLY feel about her!

"Mrs. Nobody-know-it-all shrieking cow" - Gee, I hope nobody in the McCain campaign gets offended!

Actually I cited two events to support my thesis. One, the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact, a non-aggression Pact between the Soviet Union and Germany. The other was the phrase "peace for our time" spoken by British Prime Minister Chamberlain in regards to the Munich Agreement that was signed in 1938 to guarrantee that no war would come to Europe.

I cited history, you didn't. I win.

I'm glad to see the liberals finally disclosing their source of talking points. I would have though the DNC but Pravda doesn't surprise me. Maybe Obama could use that Pravda article in a television commercial against Palin sense he's given up running against McCain and is now running against Palin.

True, pravda isn't great. Though to be fair it's less biased and more trustworthy than either FOX News or Rush Limbaugh, where American Conservatives get all their talking points...

I guess Chuck Hagel must be a comunist-liberal

Top Republican says Palin unready
Quote:

Senior Republican Senator Chuck Hagel has voiced doubts about Sarah Palin's qualifications for the vice-presidency. John McCain's running mate "doesn't have any foreign policy credentials", Mr Hagel told the Omaha World-Herald.

Mr Hagel was a prominent supporter of Mr McCain during his 2000 bid for the US presidency, but has declined to endorse either candidate this year. He was opposed to the Iraq War, and recently joined Mr McCain's rival Barack Obama on a Middle East trip.

'Stop the nonsense'
"I think it's a stretch to, in any way, to say that she's got the experience to be president of the United States," Mr Hagel told the Omaha World-Herald newspaper. And he was dismissive of the fact that Mrs Palin, the governor of Alaska, has made few trips abroad. "You get a passport for the first time in your life last year? I mean, I don't know what you can say. You can't say anything." Mr Hagel also criticised the McCain campaign for its suggestion that the proximity of Alaska to Russia gave Mrs Palin foreign policy experience.

"I think they ought to be just honest about it and stop the nonsense about, 'I look out my window and I see Russia and so therefore I know something about Russia'," he said. "That kind of thing is insulting to the American people." A senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Mr Hagel was a close ally of Mr McCain, but the two men parted company over the decision to go to war in Iraq.

I think you'll find the War with the Nazis started in 1939 with the invasion of Poland, which is the commonly held start date for the second world war, because there wasn't a world wide war up until that point.

Besides, the Second Japanese-Sino war started in 1937.

Yes, much as I haven't been a bit surprised to find that the right-wing loons are getting their talking points from Hitler, Stalin, and other notable fascists. "A lie repeated often enough becomes true" is but one of their lessons learned from their heroes.

Hell, no fewer than FIVE die-hard conservative columnists have come right out and said that McCain screwed the pooch (No, that's not a sexist comment; I'm not referring to Palin here).

I suppose they're all "liberal communists" too...

What the NeoCons love most about Palin is the exact same thing they loved most about Bush - there's no ideology there to speak of. What you have is an empty vessel that you can pour full of your own particular brand of Kool-Aid. That's why they're falling all over themselves tyring to get to Palin, so they can turn her into Bush Mk. IV (McCane is already Bush Mk. III)

You are wrong again as usual Kwicko. It's the Dems that get their ideas from the Stalin and Hitler, just look at the 1968 gun control act, it's almost an exact copy of the 1938 gun control act that the Nazis used to disarmed the Jews. I'm sure Stalin would be proud of the Dems current effort to stifle free speech by bringing back the "fairness doctrine". If the Dems cant win in the free market of ideas they just win by shutting down the speech they don't agree with. Isn't that what the USSR/Russia have been doing with Pravda our entire lifetimes.

FREMDFIRMA

I've always found it an irony that Pravdas actual journalism is in fact significantly better than our mainstream papers these days, who mostly do naught other the copy/paste each others copy/pastes of official press releases and never bother any more to actually investigate cause they might wind up like Amy Goodman.

And while I don't discount that certain elements of the Democrat agenda do match with ole Adolph's brand of National Socialism...

No one else seems to have the guts to point out that much of the Republican agenda matches Mussolini's, do they ?

When you view it from a distance, the end points of either fucking ideology are close enough that they appear as a single dot to me.

It's the same Feudo-Fascist-Federalist crap, pushed by the same type of shitheels, that's been going on since this founding of this nation, and barring a real change in our social and ethical standards and mores, these people are gonna be there, in numbers, as long as politics exist.

And even if that real change occurs, they'll still be there, just in smaller numbers.

But without gullible, cowardly little milquetoasts who run and cling to them in fear of the pathetic boogeymen they use to try and frighten us into compliance, they got nothing.

They're just one more loudmouth asshole with a "plan" - and absolutely powerless to carry it out without the sympathisers and collaborators required to put it into action.

Taking them seriously is the first foolish step in falling under their dominion, and wiser folk refuse to do it - and for that alone, this Pravda editorial is worthy of respect.

For mine own, I am angry at those people with a "plan" sure - but they are what they are, that ain't gonna change no time soon...

But I am bitterly furious at the fools who give them power, like Saruman to Sauron, like Wormtongue to Saruman, the people who cause untold destruction by being the arm of that power out of fear and cowardice combined with plain gullible stupidity.

They are the bullets in tyranny's gun, and I have no respect for them whatever, and never have.

I noticed Hero did the same thing when questioned about the Palins dodging an investigation that they originally "welcomed".

I hate to keep reminding everyone that I'm not a Republican, and don't feel the need to condemn/condone the actions of every Republican. Chuck Hagel has always just kind of pissed me off because he's so undependable. I understand that he comes from a relatively poor state that leans to the liberal side on some issues. He probably pretty well represents the views of his constituency, but just become a Democrat if your a lib, quit pretending to be a conservative. I would say the same to those in the Republican party that want Joe Lieberman to switch to the GOP, why would they want someone in their party that's a complete lib on everything but the war.

I think what I'm trying to get at is that we tend to view those who change parties and allegiances to OUR side as "having seen the light", while those who change to the OTHER side are branded traitors, turncoats, and political opportunists.

We all seem to do it, myself included. I remember when Phil Gramm switched parties, but apparently no one else does. He did it in the early 80s, when it was a political opportunity to ride on Reagan's popularity.

Please show me Chuck Hagel's liberal-democrat voting record, if you could. I know he broke ranks with the Republicans over the war, but does that truly earn him the "political opportunist" label? I know a bit about Nebraska, having spent plenty of summers there, and having strong family roots there, and Nebraskans are FAR from "liberal". They tend to speak out pretty strongly against welfare, and you're in for an ass-whoopin' if you point out that farm subsidies are one of our largest forms of welfare.
