Believe it or not, Kirk - PN's actually quite capable of rational discussion if the topic interests him enough, and there is indeed a point to some of the stuff he rants on about.

And it's also not like some of our other posters haven't pulled some stunts in their time, Kaneman, Jongstraw, etc - but do actively participate in discussions now, and I'll stand to the right to do so no matter how I disagree with em or not.

Try not to die of shock, but in fact I suggested an attempt to reason before the banstick, although the choice is ultimately up to Haken cause it's his turf.

I may not be very nice, but ponder this - standing up for rights is fine and dandy, but ultimately meaningless unless you're willing to do it for everyone, friend or foe.

I have trashed PN few times lately, but I've never called him a troll or anyone else here for that matter. Don't set yourself up on a pedestal, you're the one that is the first to come to PN's defense every time someone calls him a troll and wants him baned. I actually enjoy most of Pn's posts, but when he attacked a 17 year old pregnant girl because her mom is running for VP, I thought that was a little too much. Even after that I don't want him banned. Whozit more than once expressed his desire not to be banned, but instead of giving suggestions as to what exactly you and others thought he was doing wrong, you all just grabbed your torches and ran him out of town. Whozit was right, he would have never been persecuted if his comedy was about Pres. Bush. There's a huge majority of liberals here, and in typical fashion they want to silence those they disagree with, they just saw a easy target in Whozit because of his approach.

You really are missing the point here. All this has nothing to do with what side whozit is on - his many, many threads contain absolutely nothing but connections to his own web site, and that is spam, and that makes him trollish.

And I need to clarify my own stance, since I assumed it was obvious though I see now that it wasn't at all and sorry about that: I don't think whozit has earned banning. I'm lobbying for his spam threads to go to troll country.

Hello,

You are mistaken. Whozit could have spammed us with the following statement:

"Whozit has big ears and likes hot sweaty man sex."

And I would have hated his disruptions just as much. Because posting that crap all day does not contribute to anything but my annoyance.

Yup, and as far as I know, Whozit hasn't been "banned" at all - he just went off in a snit.

Okay, so he and PN both tend to post lots of links - but go click on Whozit's "whozitreport.bs" links and see where they go. They're just blind links, they're nothing.

And at least PN *tries* to offer some relevant comment in amongst all his links.

Do I think Whozit should be banned? Nope. I think he should be *warned*, and the useless blind link posts of his moved to Troll Country, and if that doesn't work to put him on the straight and narrow, THEN he should be banned.

I'm a fairly open-minded guy, and I've got a remarkably high tolerance for "offensive" speech; I don't know that I've ever seen anything here in RWED that I'd deem "ban-worthy" - and I've seem some remarkably vile things said here. Even said quite a few of them myself. And I've never been banned, tagged as offensive, or even so much as warned.

This is THE most open board I've been around, by a fair piece.

But, that being said, this is a PRIVATE web site, open to members only. As such, your First Amendment rights don't really count for much in here. If you'd like to have a substantive discussion about free speech, feel... well, feel FREE to start it up.

Also, if you'll look around a bit, you'll notice that Whozit is still alive and well, and has posted three times today.

So why all the fuss about him being banned, when it clearly hasn't happened?

Looks like he took the warnings he was given and has been born again hard.

That's been my point all along. It was oblivious to me and anyone else except those blinded by their Obama love that Whozit is a cool guy/gal that just did'nt understand the rules and how they are arbitrarily applied around here. Turns out anything goes as long as you're one of the insiders who assumes to know what the administrator of the site wants or expects. This was all about Whozit walking on you alls perceived turf and nothing else. He/She caused you no inconvenience and disrupted this site in no way, other than spoiling your ideal. That's one of the reasons so few post in the RWED, they don't know what the rules are until Frem makes them up.

Common Sense, Kirk - apply it for once.

Nobody had a problem with the guy specifically, they had a problem with the nonparticipative spamming of the same meaningless crap over and over, something which anyone with half a brain knows isn't really welcome on any forum anywhere.

Your own political zealotry has blinded you to the actual issue here and it makes you look utterly ridiculous when it's patently obvious your only reason for defending that behavior is a mutually shared political hatred.

Did it somehow escape you that PN busts on Obama for much the same thing Whozit did, only he makes an actual case out of it with accusations and statements from Sinclair and others, linked content and amusing (and yes at times offensive) comments and photos ?

This had jack shit to do with whatever Whozit was saying cause in essence he wasn't saying anything at all, just spamming - which is considered vandalism in any forum worth the name.

But you seem to not get that, cause your own petty personal and political hatred has gotten in the way of your reasoning, no matter how smart you are otherwise.

I suggest you take a step back, step on that hatred for a minute and take a good look at what others have said in this thread, cause I really do believe you have misunderstood the entire argument in the first place.

Emotion is a damn poor substitute for intellect within the reasoning process.

You know Frem, constantly telling everyone that you're smarter that them doesn't make it true. I do believe it is an excellent brainwashing tactic though. If you repeat anything enough times some people will begin to believe it.

You just don't get it Kirk...

I was implying that you're quite smart enough to have known that, only that you were too pissed to be fully rational about it.

And I can tell, too, cause in any other case you'd not be fool enough to stand here and keep buying rope from me, like you're doing.

You seem pretty determined to paint me as evil as of late - what's the matter, some Anarchist steal your woman out from under ya ? run over your dog ?

Or are you specifically angry at me for hammering cracks in the foundations of your worldview ?

Cause something's eatin ya, man - and it's real obvious.

Damn Frem, you are a likable dude. I especially like your ability to take what you hand out. I'm through with my mini-rant and apoligise for singling you out when I was really just mad in general about the way Whozit was being treated. I agree that my suggestion that politics was a motivating factor among the Whozit banners is weak, but I still believe that this was more about him treading on you alls turf than anything else. One of your rules of thumb that I really do like is not taking grudges from one thread to another, I'll try to follow that one better in the future.

Kirk, let me put it in terms EXACTLY like the ones Whozit uses and you are defending.

How long do you think I'd last around here if I started posting up two, three, or ten times a day a new thread titled "Bush Sucks Cheney!" with the body of the thread reading "Go to http://www.bushsuckscheney.bs to see more of Bush in hot sweaty man-sex with Cheney!"

And not posting it just once and having a bit of a laugh, but continuing to post it, repeatedly, day after day after day, with little or no changes at all, and links that go do nothing at all.

Would you consider that SPAM? Would you consider it disruptive to the board, and a waste of space?

I agree that he formatted his posts incorrectly by not putting the subject in the title. I just don't think anyone here read any of the contents of his posts after the first few. Almost all contained political humor that I believe is worthy of posting. While you might not find it humorous because of your political leanings, I found much of it hilarious.

Agreed, there was some political stuff that was well worth posting. As such, post it. Put it in a relevant thread, make it your signature, or even start a new thread about it.

But don't start TWELVE new threads about it in one day!

And yes, some of it is hilarious. Obama's ears aren't really that BIG, but they certainly do stick out quite a bit.

At any rate, I think he's merely taking a "self-time-out" from here, and I've no doubt that he'll be back.

I hear ya. I think the word you were looking for was "obvious". I just found that it made it unintentionally hilarious the way you had it.

I'm a fan of the spellcheck feature that Apple's Safari browser has implemented - if it doesn't recognize the word, it'll underline it in red, and you can either correct it, ignore it, or tell it to learn the word and add it to your dictionary. It's lousy with names and places, though... and I'm still teaching it slang and colloquialisms (such as "y'all" and "ain't")

And it didn't recognize obliviousness as a real word, either.

As for torches, I prefer a flamethrower. Much better reach.

No worries Kirk, I do hope he takes the suggestions in hand and applies them however, cause RWED is a great place to learn how to refine an argument to make it more effective and coherent, even if the process is kinda frustrating to the one making it.

I do feel the dude has something to contribute, and wish he would throw down and contribute it, even if it's a half page rant based on personal perspective fulla bad punctuation and grammatical errors, it's something to start from at least.

And while I might not be very nice, especially when blowing holes in a bad arguement, for all the snark there's usually a core of decent advice in there too - I've been compared to Severus Snape for that before, and I'll not deny the resemblance cause some might have noticed an attempt to strongly hint to him a couple times that his little train was headed for a wall before folks blew a gasket on him.

I guess we'll wait and see, cause I admit a certain curiousity to specifically why he don't like Obama, it's not like I care for the socialist sumbitch neither, so we might even find some common ground.

Yup, if you hate Obama, that's cool. I just want you to be able to articulate WHY you hate him, what it is about him that drives you crazy. I'm hoping your hate comes from something other than his "big ears", his love for hot sweaty man-sex, or the color of his skin. But maybe it's just a slickness factor, a sleaziness about him that you can't quite pinpoint. That's cool, too. That's exactly how I felt about Bill Clinton, and how I still feel about John Edwards; I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's just something very un-kosher about those guys...

Apparently Chrisisall feels the same way about Bush.

So spill it - if you hate the guy, state your case! I don't think anyone's going to kill you over it, or have you banned for it. Hell, my wife doesn't like Obama (she's a Hillary supporter, which I really don't get), and I have since the '04 DNC, when I told her he was going to be President one day. She thinks he's too slick, too "icky", and I get the exact same vibe from Hillary. Still, we're together, not fighting about it, but not agreeing either.

OBAMA SEX PERV SCANDAL

National Enquirer
10/13/2008

The ENQUIRER exclusively reports a "sex pervert" was Sen. Barack Obama's longtime mentor and "father figure".

For seven years, the presidential candidate had a "father-son" relationship with Frank Marshall Davis, who has confessed to having sex with children, sadomasochism, bondage and practicing a wide array of deviant sexual activities.

In his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father, Obama identifies his childhood mentor only as "Frank," but Obama insiders later confirmed he was referring to Davis, a journalist and poet who was a pal of Obama's maternal grandfather, Stanley Dunham.

Frank Marshall Davis admitted in his private papers that he had secretly authored a hard-core pornographic autobiography called Sex Rebel: Black, published in 1968. The author of the book - a copy of which was been obtained by The ENQUIRER - is listed as "Bob Greene." Davis later confessed to its authorship after a reader noticed similarities in style and phraseology between that book and Davis' poetry.

Davis confessed: "I could not truthfully deny that this book, which came out in 1968 as a Greenleaf Classic, was mine."

The appalling catalog of admitted real-life decadence is laced with perverted sexual activity, bisexuality, rape - and the seduction of children.

"Davis' admission he wrote this disturbing book exposes Obama's mentor as living a secret double life - and as a sexual pervert," disclosed a source.

In his shocking tell-all, Davis admits to seducing a thirteen year-old girl, voyeurism, exhibitionism, bisexuality, rape and sadomasochism.

Barack, called "Barry" as a child, was a mere ten year old when he first met the family friend who lead a secret double life.

Obama's grandfather introduced Barry and Davis because he believed it would help his alienated grandson identify with being of mixed heritage because Barack's mother, Ann, was a white American while his father, Barack Sr.black Kenyan.

Obama's parents separated and then divorced when Barack was only 2. Ann remarried and took Barack to live with her and new husband Lolo Soetoro in Indonesia - but Barack was later sent to live with his white grandparents in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Barack describes how Frank Davis had a lasting effect on him and became a father figure over the seven years they knew one another on the tropical island.

In Dreams from My Father, Obama wrote: "He would read us poetry whenever we stopped by his house, sharing whiskey with Gramps out of an emptied jelly jar.

"As the night wore on, the two of them would solicit my help in composing dirty limericks."

Obama described being counseled by Frank often and recalled drinking whiskey with him.

Since Frank Davis has been identified as the author of Sex Rebel: Black, Obama has been extremely secretive about the true nature of his experience with the self-admitted deviant.
